  1. the only good thing about Dennis was that he only had the one season.Sadly he has now passed on .
  2. Did you check for him in the Casey reserves side ?
  3. or perhaps have the Federal Police raid him because his opinion differed from yours .let everyone feel free enough to offer an opinion and then make of it what you will.
  4. the biggest disappointment to me is Fritsch .Omac and his ilk aren't disappointing because they were duds to begin with and have just traveled further along that path. But Fritsch last year was a revelation-so neat and clean of hand and foot .I thought he would bounce back this year from his prelim final setback but that hasn't happened .He just cant seem to find the ball .The biggest improver has been Salem who has steadily progressed to be now a genuine A grader .
  5. I dont believe it is unfair or unreasonable to have a negative view on players performance providing your view has some arguable basis and is not actuated by malice.I certainly have no malice towards Oscar and by all accounts is a great bloke but really brings nothing to the table as a footballer .If you asked what was the single biggest factor in the heartbreaking loss I would with complete candor and honesty say the performance of Oscar.
  6. I dont want to appear unnecessarily provocative and I do admire the blind loyalty of The Oscar camp but that said I have no doubt that the extra 3 points needed for a win would have been achieved if May,Lever ,Kelty or just about anyone else had played CHB on Saturday night .Oscar is and has in my view always been an indescribably inept footballer with no skill set at all .On Saturday night he made an out of form and not much good anyway Josh Jenkins look like Wayne Carey .I wouldn't expect Oscar to even be an influence at Casey .He however is a particularly talented golfer and perhaps the club could encourage him in that direction
  7. Im off to Darwin tonight to lend some support .Can any posters advise where we congregate to have a drink in Darwin ?The anecdotal evidence from the Gold Coast function is that we imbibe at the Boat Club but I haven't been able to confirm this .I would hate to wander in to some Crows haunt and be never seen again .Any info is appreciated
  8. Surely Weed has to replace Kelty and just about anybody can replace Omac .
  9. bit late for that.Perhaps the"he is already better than Hogan" fraternity have had a reality check.Mays performance tonight amplifies why it was such a pathetic trade .
  10. well it certainly has been a dramatic fall from grace for the Weed .Last week he was a better key forward then Jesse and this week it is off to the VFL.Still seems our best bet at FF but dont expect another Hogan.
  11. if KK does well tomorrow he can go straight in.
  12. we didnt get rid of Hogan sadly Hogan got rid of us .Weed continues to improve incrementally and hopefully will make a quantum leap forward at some stage this year. However he will never be as good as Hogan .
  13. not as huge as the doubt on Hannans fitness.
  14. final round 1987 against the Bulldogs for sure .Drama all day- Gary Lyon breaking his leg, watching Glenn Lovett and Sean Wight drive us into attack time after time and listening at the end on the tranny(meant transistor in those days)as Jason Dunstall kicked the 2 matchwinners for Hawthorn. What A day !
  15. i think it may have been an oblique reference to a sponsor for the back of jumper rather than the Bank of Japan
  16. It was generally a good session and well received by the impressive crowd .I thought the stand out was Joel Smith .He clunked everything and looked the fittest I have seen him .His kicking was ok as well
  17. Shouldn't be in Freo colours .An ill conceived and particularly poorly executed trade .However he is opposition and can no longer be a favourite .
  18. A pretty good year at Aspley . Very popular at the club,3rd in the best and fairest and an interchange selection in NEAFL team of the year .However hasnt improved since leaving us and it would be a big leap of faith to put him on The Suns list .
  19. the interesting and probably disappointing comment from josh was that Jesse was happy to stay if we couldn't broker a satisfactory trade .Doesn't seem that we were forced to take 6 and 23 because Jesse was insisting on a trade ,more just a statement of preference.A tragedy if this becomes the difference in winning or not winning this years flag .
  20. Or the " Why did we ever do that trade For Jesse thread "!
  21. All a bit late .No point asking these questions unless you need to somehow internally justify an unjustifiable trade .Perhaps there was some to date unreported attempts at lateral negotiations involving Brayshaw and others but as best as I can see we just took what Freo offered which was not nearly enough.
  22. marvel at how we were able to get match winner jesse back on the list.
  23. with respect that is not an answer to the question who won the trade We got Salem and Tyson, GWS got Kelly and clearly won the trade .I agree that if we had not made that trade and then drafted Billings over Kelly that would have been an even worse outcome .
  24. In answer to the specific question of whether we won the Kelly trade, the answer is clearly no .Salem has been generally ok and a reasonable get at 9 .All in all Dom gave pretty good service especially earlier in his time with us . .But Kelly is an out and out champion ,So no win on that part of the draft .
  25. He is an absolute cracker who has had an indescribably unlucky run.He will be be AA in 2019 but sadly not with us.
