  1. Its not just the frees against us its the frees that aren't paid Umps nope! Richmond Members Yep!
  2. What did you see in this game? I saw the following Negatives Outside our Control Pathetic umpiring Weather and Bias commentators Within our control Lack of Accuracy at goal Lack of commitment by a few at the ball Lack of experience and lack of talking in some instances Positives Endeavor Commitment by many at the ball A bit of Mongrel in the team Last but not least, a huge change in attitude towards being behind on the scoreboard Fighting and running out a game out without capitulating towards the end and for a change showing a bit of pride in the jumper even more so considering the conditions Obviously, I'm Not Happy with the result ! But at least I'm not embarrassed enough to want to crawl under the Blanket and hide from the world like on previous occasions. At least I feel our Guys this time haven't embarrassed the jumper ,club or the supporters with their commitment .
  3. I think the whole article is about who is a better role model that players can spire to. Not who is the better player ! Ablett is just a freak oozing natural talent there aren't many like that Jones on the other hand is a dedicated player who bleeds red and blue someone who's reasons cant be called into question. Dedication, hard work ,loyalty and belief , Jones falls into that bracket . Therefore I agree with the article in the sense i believe it was written
  4. Well half my wish at least came true Clark has now played in two losses straight !!! But how sweet would it have been had we won yesterday, oh well Wouldn't mind looking at the odds on Clark to be dropped next week as well. Wont be long before hell have to opt out again. If it continues like this, this cant be good for 'his issues' .
  5. My thoughts are is the problem with having Dawes in is he isn't producing and when he is in the team our players go looking for him as a key forward He wasn't in the first game and look at the avenues to goal we created , this last game that wasn't bought into play I was happy when we got Dawes , but now I'm begging to understand why it didn't worry Collingwood losing him all that much I believe he has the ability to dominate but he doesn't, unfortunately for us.
  6. Also no one showed any Mongrel or real fight! sometimes that's needed more than others today we had no one of that caliber.
  7. Maybe they should all be made to walk home !!!! They certainly dont deserve a lift home.
  8. This is so sad for us and the players Roo's needs to tear shreds off em Can we turn it around, highly unlikely But I am forever the pessimist , at least in my heart of hearts
  9. Roos on Clark Roos said the club was pleased with Mitch Clark’s return to the game, after he made his debut for Geelong against Hawthorn on Eastern Monday. (He continues to play in a losing side) “As soon as he decided that he couldn't play at this footy club, you look to better your own club and we were able to do that with Heritier [Lumumba joining the club], ” he said. (Once he decided he was dumping us) ( A Win for us ) “If you’ve got some good relationships with some of the other clubs, then you’ve got win/win situations [in trade deals]. (other clubs understood ) (As far as Roo is concerned we win he loses) “We just hope Mitch gets healthy and plays really good footy.” (maybe in another life ) Clark left Melbourne because he wanted to win games not lose them he wanted to play in winning side 'Remember this is not about Clark's depression but about his actions and decision in coming back to play football as well as going to another club'. We are each responsible for our own actions , Melbourne did not force Clark's into making these decisions he made them on his own accord, (as far as we all know) Clark deserves slagging on the ground for being a tool but not because he "suffered depression" but because of how he treated those who put his best interests first ie the MFC and how he thanked them for that concern. I will boo Clark when Melbourne plays Geelong , my kids cant stand him because to them he is a fallen hero, to them his depression has nothing to do with him playing football again its just the opposite , its his actions they call into question and for which they will hold him to account . Clark is back on the Field playing Football, 'don't loose sight of that'!! If Geelong loses to Freo and we defeat GWS there will be no greater Irony at this point in time as far as I believe Clark is concerned . I just hope both scenarios come about because I can use another good laugh
  10. And this mean's what? Do you reckon it means Roos has had enough? Or is it because we have players like Vince and Dawes and a few others wanting back in ? Just Curious
  11. Another result out of the match is the coming of age of Watts, below is a credit to him and even provides me with more hope and expectations for the future Watts said: The win will give the team belief in what it’s been practicing over the pre-season. “When things aren't going well, which I’m sure at some point during the year [will happen] and it’s not going to work out perfectly for us – then we've got to trust what we’re doing, trust the game plan, trust our role and trust each other,” he said. “We've shown today that it works and I think that’s probably the biggest thing – that belief factor."
  12. I will say this to all here that are criticizing Toumpas and for all those who are criticizing those who criticize For too long we as supporters and as a club have had to put with bad calls all around, coaches players all have been under the microscope., why because in the last decade we have been nothing short of pathetic as a football club both on and off the field, starved of success and hope as a club This in turn has lead to us as supporters to vent our frustrations here ,taking it out on those who we believe have failed to deliver for all of us. This does not mean players don't deserve criticism, especially if they have proven themselves to not be up to standard. I myself was one of those who was extremely disappointed with the selection of Toump over Wines but that cant be changed now we need to accept it and move on So what do we do now? Do we give the young man Toump a chance or is he done and dusted as far as some of us as supporters are concerned In fairness though can a player be judged on their performance as a sub in the last few minutes of a game ? Myself I don't think so , his performance I believe has been poor to date, but in fairness I believe his introduction to AFL football has been hampered also due to outside pressures and injuries. Roos has faith in him at least for the moment and needless to say I have faith in Roos ! If Roos says hes done then hes obviously done and dusted but if Roos continues to show faith in him then he obviously sees something more then I and others can see at this stage. So Ill wait and give him his chance. . Ill let Roos run his course with Toump and hopefully he can turn him around but I do know Roo's wont brook passengers. One last thing Quick quiz : With about 7 mins left to play in the game I saw something that I haven't seen in such a long long time from the Melb. football club. It was at this point I saw a passage of play that convinced me where home this day. It began from the center and was just awesome to watch . Can anyone tell me what it was and who the players where that where involved and what they actually did ? Hint it involved commitment and teamwork. ( I know there was plenty of that on the day, but this was something very special at least I thought so )
  13. I was there at the game and we have just got home and all I can say about today's performance Is WOW and then WOW again . EVERYTHING i HAD EXPECTED TO SEE FROM MELBOURNE WENT OUT THE DOOR' No capitulation Team work . Hard work Pressure and more pressure All I can say is My congratulations to all the players and to Roos'y Every player in the team contributed in one way or another . They have a right to be satisfied . Pressure consistent , teamwork better than I have seen in any recent match , we had targets to hit we had a lot of center clearances and the defense, well the boys down there did a fantastic job over the course of the match . Needless to say my heart was in my mouth not once not twice but three times yet the boys responded so magnificently I am hoarse now , from the tribute to Robbie Flower to the last kick of the day I was there and so where my kids. But the most important thing to come out of today was I was once again PROUD to be a Melbourne supporter . I could hold my head high and I don't mind saying yes I shed a tear or maybe two I was so proud and so happy. Like all of us we have been down so long and this was a Resurrection , the beginning possibly of a rebirth we can only hope . But besides from congratulating them and being proud once again I just hope Roos and Co remind them . Yes it was a great Win , Yes it was a stirring win , but don't forget you have to do that again next week and the week after and again and again Then the belief will grow as will the team, but in the Meantime for now savoir this all of us it was certainly a win to remember 2005 -2015 What a Start !!!
  14. Please to hear it hardtack and I hope your son sees a Melbourne Win. But to make it clearer to you , you like myself and all others here, are already Demon Supporters, at least Id hope we are and as such we don't need an Ad to be just that. We are our own particular breed , and will always support Melbourne , but the idea of a Advertisement like this, I would hope is to appeal to non demon supporters, those who have yet to make up their minds as to who they will support in the AFL . Supporters come from all over Australia and the advertisement needs to appeal to them ,in my opinion we should be using old footage and new, harking both back to the glory days of the MFC and to its potential future. Sell the message that those days can come again and that they can be a part of it , show some inspiring footage of our up and coming young guns and Roos'y our coach . The potential is there we have to believe and they need to be made to believe in it and in turn make others believe in it including even our own players. To me this advertisement doesn't do it but hey that's just my opinion I'm sure others will differ, but no harm in that we all want the same thing that little cup thingy at the end of a AFL season, just hope I'm around to see it
  15. They never get it right ! What we really need is footage to inspire not only the Melbourne Football Club Players to actually make them want to win games but at the same time inspires supporters to get out there and support the guys . Now that would be something worth watching! How many here can say they will be at the our opener of the AFL season proper ?. I know me and my kids will be. It would be so great to walk away with a win but wouldn't it be great to see 25000 + members there supporting our boys watching and willing that win At least for the first game
  16. Every game is winnable : , its just a matter of what you do and don't do throughout the game. In past seasons its been more a case of what we didn't do This Nab cup was much more of the same. Are the demons able to do the doable in their first real game of the 2015 season . Well we can only wait and see . The one thing I know right now is it is doable! But if the ability to do what is doable is truly un-doable then we as supporters may well decide to do that which is truly not doable as well as unthinkable but in actuality quite doable Now if they can understand the above then anything is doable wouldn't you agree?.
  17. 2012 Draft https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=0S0plDZF5r4 From a Demons selectors perspective ( You know who you are ) Wines - Toumpas Toumpas - Wines I know give me a tail and a pin Spin me around and around again The tail will decide our demon main man I need to be dizzy ,totally dizzy Then face me in the right direction you [censored] Give me a shove a prayer and hope once again Its time to show we can play and win this game to Now Toumpas - Wines Wines - Toumpas I knew we where on to something with this recruiting. You wait and see all you doubters and naysayers The future will be ours and all will see We will be vindicated + 1, 2 @ 3 !!!! But if we fail the option exists To sack another coach again To be free of Blame and continue our game After all its not about whether we win or lose Its just about how rotten we are at this game PS its not meant to rhyme because they couldn't even do that right
  18. Couldn't agree more Foss It doesn't matter if it was just a Nab Cup match , these players are not meant to be playing for themselves but for their club and us as supporters. A WIN is a Win and as success starved supporters we grave for a taste of what its like to barrack for a winning side It is a culture that the MFC players have lacked for many years now . They need to play their heart out every game, they need to give it their best and if in doing so they loose we may at least be able to accept that. But that's only if it is their best Even I knew when I used to play football which is a long long long time ago , you don't kick across the face of goal with a few minutes left to play Basic football . I am a great believer in young Viney and that he can really become a integral part of our team. But when the basics go out the door you have to ask why ? Why do such basic errors occur. I liked Roos summary , they need to stand up as a team , no one person is too blame it is the team mentality that is at question Lets hope that as a team they will step up otherwise it is going to be another long long season!
  19. A Draw After that Melb. on the up. Id pick a win except I don't want to be disappointed A draw ?Well if we win Ill be even happier Just don't want to raise my expectations
  20. The real surprise Packet, would be if the team stood up as one and played good winning consistent football That would really be a surprise packet for us all. Remember 1 player, does not a team make.
  21. I don't know why but this song by "Queen" keeps going through my head Another one bites the dust Another one bites the dust And another one gone, and another one gone Another one bites the dust Hey, I'm gonna get you too Another one bites the dust https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rY0WxgSXdEE?f=videos&app=youtube_gdata
  22. This Guy obviously has real real Problems if he thinks he will ever be forgiven Maybe we are right to let him move on God knows what his next break down will result in Goodbye Good riddance and as they say in show Biz good luck BREAK a Leg I wont go into how that is actually interpreted
