  1. And if he doesn't sign now what then ? After how so many here have put their heart on their sleeve and committed already to a Roos lead revival ! All I can say Roo's, is go on sign the bloody thing and lets get on with it Just don't bet the house on it, at least not quite yet . But in case you do and he doesn't than you can always turn to the help line for problem gambling to let your frustrations known Please just don't do it here I'm just glad I don't have a gambling addiction , but if we did get Roos I have to admit that could just change
  2. Though it is a welcome development I suggest we all do not get carried away with it quite yet Never ever count your chickens before they hatch ! Its after they Hatch and Grow that you can then enjoy a good old fashioned roast And as a long suffering Melbourne Supporter I want one with all the Trimmings as well as few good bottles of wine to wash it down with . A nice desert also wouldn't go astray
  3. What a Great Game not to watch . In fact the best Game I have not watched all year I must do this more often , less stress , no angst , no yelling and hurting my voice especially at the umpires , no upsetting the dog, "even he is more relaxed " I don't have to watch how pathetic my Football club has become and I can wrap myself in warm fuzzy thoughts about next season, the hope of a half decent coach , a clean out of all players who don't wont to be a part of the Melbourne football club and, the return of some of our better players as well as some potentially great ones, who I believe will certainly take Melbourne off the Bottom. In all honesty I don't think we could go any lower unless we really tried harder to do so and that wont happen anyway, because we all know our level of endeavour , and finally the prospect of having something to cheer about at least next year, at least that's what I keep telling Myself . So I Suggest to all you Demon supporters who frequent here try it at least once this year Grab the Remote and just switch of the Game. Sit back relax have a beer and some chips and watch WWE its more realistic than how we perform anyway and far more entertaining at least I get a laugh . But most of all just sit back and allow yourself to contemplate what must be next year . It does wonders for your Constitution
  4. I watch with interest the comments made about Watts on a consistent Basis. However Watts isn't the only one who should be under Scrutiny . Trengrove to me is another who fails to deliver , he seems to fly under the radar escaping criticism on a consistent basis. But he is by far from being the only one ! I am sure there are plenty of posters here who can analyse each players performance . Better than I can. There are few players who demand respect, but to me Nathan Jones is one of the standouts who does ! Another thing is for sure, though I like Craig the performance presented by the players yesterday does nothing to help his cause as to being the next coach But in saying that why would the likes of Paul Roos for instance want to coach the MFC? With the most likely result of only tainting a otherwise solid reputation . Maybe if a coach felt he had something to prove he might consider coaching Melbourne . But who in their right mind would want to take on our list as it currently stands . Those that would, would have Money not the Clubs Interest at heart which would be the only reason most would and that means more than likely another coach past he's use by date . I have never felt more disillusioned in the future of the MFC than I did yesterday . "Enough is Enough " We need a strong Coach and Players that want to be at the Melbourne Football Club, who are not only prepared to stand up and show they want to belong now, but also into the future and to show more than anything else that they have the ability to be part of that Future of the MFC! How many would you say have shown that ability up till now ????
  5. Every Time Watts is mentioned he reminds me of three characters out of the wizard of Oz who are looking for three things Lets hope the Melb Football Club can find our own Wizard (Coach) who can help Watts find what he is looking for !
  6. My Problem is not if Watt wants to Stay or Go that is his decision . A decision he has to make privately on how he feels taking into account how things will affect him personally at the club in the future What my real issue with Watts is he goes Public on these Issues and creates more concerns than solutions as to where our club is at and what its Future is Lets Face it on Watts current Performances you wouldn't exactly say they are worthy of weekly recognition let alone legendary status . Watts is to me beginning to look more and more like a "Real Prima donna." Jack is doing himself no Favours by this type of Approach and if anyone is advising him that this is the way to go then they need the riot act read to them too Watts needs to be told to pull his head in. Concentrate on Improving his football , become more of a team player and put his head down over the ball and show as all that he can really play football not just when it suits him to do so but consistently as a valued member of the MFC club team and lead by his actions on field rather than his mouth off field.
  7. Sorry Guys if it wasnt raining we would be looking at a worse result than last time and still nothing to say we wont get close if Geelong keep it up.
  8. Roos and Graig working together !! Bring it on
  9. All I can say is there is a old saying, Some people have Rocks in their heads However this thread is Bigger than that ! To classify it as anything Below Boulders would be to do it a Injustice !!
  10. The way I understand it is the real problem is we have Part Time Umpires trying to Umpire a supposedly Professional full time game where Players and coaches and everyone else involved get paid mega bucks Until such time as Umpiring becomes professional and Full time, you have to learn to put up with the Crap decisions we see week in and week out , and that wont change either until we get back some credibility as the umpires I imagine also look down on Melb as we have seen in past games.
  11. Ron I agree and I apologise for leaving Rodan out of last nights special thanks it was definitely one of the better games he has played since being at Melbourne but I didn't think he had as big a impact as those mentioned above As for Howe.... as you say Howe is Howe and to be honest I didn't expect any less from him then what he gave last night which is everything I expect from a top player All the players deserve a big thanks because at some time throughout the game they all did their bit . But to name them all and what they did ie: Blease for instance. I could begin to write a couple of pages, the whole point though was not to say that other players weren't worthy of acknowledgement just that I thought those above deserved a special thanks
  12. I also have a smile on my face though the rest of my body is still getting over last night . Congratulations Melbourne Football Club Congratulations to all the players A special thanks to the following players Dawes Watts Jones Garland Fitzpatrick Nicholson The above players certainly earned their pay last night
  13. I thought the idea of three umpires was to catch these off the ball incidents. Obviously the Umpires were not doing their job once again ! In fact the standard of Umpiring throughout the game was poor ! Maybe its time that if Umpires are found not to be doing their job and Miss incidents like what Happened to Dawes then they themselves should be fined . Maybe if the take a hit in their own pocket they will then do their jobs better !
  14. It is a very simple equation. Craig has been appointed coach for the rest of the season, like it or not ! If he has aspirations to continue on as Coach that will in no small way be determined by how the team itself performs over the rest of the season As a Supporter to me the most Important thing that we must see at a bear minimum is a Increase in "COMPETITIVENESS" We need to see the Players put in and put in hard!! If Craig can make this Happen then so much the better , if he cant then all it proves is that our selection of players is not what it should be. However Craig might just see that turn around with some injured players also to come back . If the MFC is to be Resuscitated we must see that improvement . Supporters need hope to hold onto . If we have that Hope we will remain . The MFC has asked a lot from its supporters over the last few years and MOST of us have hang in there . If it is screwed up this time around than I don't believe even the AFL will step into save us and there will be no next time around .
  15. Melbourne powerbroker Geoff Freeman says the stricken club can play finals in three years
  16. Rumour : I heard today was that as part of the Fallout of sacking Neeld , Chris Connolly will also not be resuming his position with Melb but as a result will also have to have his contract paid out . More lost Monies I am not sure if others have heard this or not , or if it has already been discussed and I have missed it pls Just remember I'm only the messenger
  17. Me too Soxy , at least it gives me some hope to cling on too . B) All of us here just want what is best for the Melbourne Football Club !! If the MFC could harness the passion shown here on this Forum then we would all be a lot better of, all round
  18. CARO cant Help herself Listen to her Comments on Video http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/demons-finally-sack-neeld-20130617-2ocws.html#ixzz2WR5Rh9Yn All seeing all Wise Caro Knows all !!
  19. Okay for starters it has been posted here many times here that players within the group weren't happy wether this be true or a perception only it doesn't really matter. Remember players also came out in Full support of Neeld but only some not all unless I missed it. To say many of them are below standard I think is a simplistic statement at best . To me many have not been handled the right way nor given a real chance to get their act together , that being the case when players come in for criticism how that criticism is received is determined by how they have been treated. . If they feel they had been mistreated or given less of a chance. That affects the way they play . A coach is charged with the responsibility for the well being of the players, getting the players to bring out their best and providing a game plan to make them competitive . Melbourne hasn't had the depth to cover injuries to key players for quite a while let alone afford to get rid of some players that we should have considered holding on to . What ever the reason it all comes back to the coach and his decisions he makes on who should be in his team and who shouldn't . This also includes the recruitment of players I believe that the Melbourne Football club does have a future but it depends on the Calibre of the next coach that is appointed to lead these players into the future Like everyone here I hope we get that Coach!! We cannot have a repeat again of the Bailey and Neeld sagas I don't believe supporters will put up with it again. To me this is it , The MFC must get this next appointment right ! !!
  20. The Question is ? Did the Playing Group get the message ??? Wont it be interesting to see their reaction in the next game they play . Now they have "no excuse" with Neeld, gone to at least not be Competitive from here on in!! Good luck to Graig I believe his going to need buckets of it !!!!
  21. The first quarter saw a player who maybe past he's use by date but can still show a bit of "Flash" and get the job done ! If only we had players who could perform on a consistent Basis even half as good as this we would at least be competitive ! Unfortunately its only a 'Flash' in the pan every now and then http://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/2013-06-10/dee-fans-erupt-as-davey-sells-dummy The only real highlight from a sad day by a sad team !
  22. Jeez what a great game to watch !!! Collingwood 10 goals in row I cant remember when we got our First Goal?? Oh that's right it was Davies in the First quarter Jeez certainly getting our monies worth I reckon all Melbourne Supporters who turned up todays game should get an award for perseverance if nothing else !!
  23. Though I can understand both sides of the coin what I would have to weigh up is the benefits that can be gained by a number of Melbourne's Senior list players experiencing the taste of playing Finals football. We are not just talking about games here we re talking Finals games regardless of it Being VFL the build up the experience the strength developed between players especially if they win a Grand Final is Massive . Even right through junior football that is the case . Premierships produce lasting friendships and a Mutual bond between those that are on the Field in a Grand Final My Opinion is considering the state of our current performances and how we can expect this according to Neeld for another 5 years ! I say let them play Who knows, they may even like it and develop a taste for playing Finals Football. I think those lucky enough to have the chance should be encouraged to do so Especially if you truly have the players Mental well being at heart.
  24. I have just spoken to the my most reliable source within the MFC, the tea lady who due to being forced to work overtime has decided it is time to speak out , she said its time all MFC club supporters knew the truth . According to her Mark Neeld has been put on Notice for the Collingwood Game and any loss over 50 points or more will be totally, unacceptable . Should Neeld fail to produce a competitive game from his players he will be given his marching Orders Neeld has Promised Mclardy that he will not let him down . Based on this Guarantee from Neeld, Mclardy has backed him in but in the process put his own tenure on the Line The tea lady says Neeld believes his players can turn it around in fact he even believes that his players can beat Collingwood given the right set of circumstances, though he failed to outline what those circumstances were his enthusiasm for a set of circumstances carried the day. The Melbourne Board has stated unequivocally that if Neeld can Beat Collingwood with the players he has that they will provide him with a more appropriate car fitting a man of his stature. They will buy him a Real Car instead of Noddys to drive around in. So we will all stay tuned in now to the next stage of this gripping Saga when Melbourne faces off against Collingwood Don't be surprised if a major surprise is in order . Neeld has also promised that he will Keehaul any Player who does not put in 200% this week in fact he is seriously making enquiries about transferring HMAS Cerebus to the our training ground even as we speak !! Hes view is one wreck deserves another . It may even inspire his players he said.
