  1. Nope. Midfielders, midfielders, midfielders...and maybe another KPF. I believe we should address the small forward issue once the most important area of the ground is addressed - the midfield. If LJ ever plays again, he could still become that brilliant crumber, with an ability to take a mark above his head. He needs to lift his work rate and buy into Neeld's philosophy and we could have a genuinely exciting, A grade forwardline. Jesus, how quickly do things look up?
  2. What? No, it wasn't. It was a hard slog. Every time (unless there was a free player in space, in the corridor) we played along the boundary. Just about every kick out was directed at Sellar, Jamar or someone else creating a contest 60 out and fisting it out of bounds. We then went about demolishing them at the stoppages. That's how the game was won. Did you actually watch it? The Neeld game plan has never been more evident than tonight and finally every player executed it.
  3. Just LOLed at that one and woke the girlfriend. Thanks a lot daisycutter.
  4. I'd watch that every week if it meant winning. Stuff stylish football. If you win games, you win games. That's all that matters.
  5. It certainly went through our heads.
  6. That's the thing though. If Sellar can play his role and McDonald too, we can afford to through Garland forward. Still think he's a better defender (but that's only because I think extremely highly of his capabilities down there). Played brilliantly as a forward tonight though.
  7. Consistently one of the best posters on D'land. Couldn't agree more.
  8. Yeah. Dog. Fletcher always leads with his knees.
  9. Certainly played his role well. Still makes too many errors that result in goals for mine. There could be worse back ups for defenders though. He may get another contract as a depth player. We'll have to see how he plays out the season.
  10. No, I don't think so. He played against Adelaide last year didn't he? He certainly played in a win early last year.
  11. Thought Tommy did alright tonight, but his man could quite easily have kicked 7 or 8 on him. Will have to play a lot better next week, if he's to play on Cloke.
  12. I think it was in a tackle, late during the first quarter. He played on, but noticed him wince on the replay.
  13. Agreed. Played really well tonight. Kudos, James.
  14. Maybe. I think that's a little harsh on an AA defender who wasn't playing for us tonight. He does add class and poise across there though. I also thought that Essendon were arrogant and showed little respect in their match ups on him. He was two feet taller than most of his opponents and therefore spoilt the ball easily, numerous times. He's the sort of player that only needs to get it 25 times (or 24 ) to have a great impact, such is his efficiency by hand and foot. 99% of the time he makes the right decision.
  15. Totally agree. I watched the replay as soon as I got home. No idea that mob. Darcy was a [censored] when he was a player and he's certainly a [censored] as a commentator. Jack played on a man all night. He's such a great reader of the play, it appears he's playing by himself. Definitely had an opponent all night.
  16. How good was Jack Grimes in the last quarter, when the chips were down? Stick it up them, Jack. JT, Wattsy and Grimes all had great games. I wonder if the media will pull out the handful of jacks headline?
  17. He is better than Hurley, because Hurley, as a rule, cannot kick. Watts is a sublime kick. Wouldn't mind Jack harnessing some of Hurley's aggression though. It'd elevate him to A grade already. But he's now strung three great games together and getting better every week. He likes playing the Bombers too I reckon (as do most of our guys). Upside is the key here. Watts will be a dominate backmen, if he keeps going the way he is. He'll be a champion if he brings even more physicality to his game. Tonight was a step in the right direction, but still should be holding his ground when Hurley barges through in the second quarter. Fantastic game, Jack. Put on another 5 kg and we can give the skeptics the finger.
  18. It helps when you've learnt your trade down back and then go forward. He put pressure on their defence all night and PLAYED IN FRONT. Certainly needs to work on his kicking, but unlucky not to have that last mark. It's good to see Neeld's move pay off.
  19. Go redlegs, but I'm hoping for another four quarter performance. We've only done it once this year. If we continue to do it and put in the effort we did tonight, we'll be moving in the right direction.
  20. We didn't go public, but the club certainly pressured him for an answer. And he'd already signed...
  21. If he was a winner that might be an argument, but he doesn't have a medal.
  22. Stanton has had 6 or 7 good games in just as many seasons and they've all come in this season. Ordinary player, not blessed with astounding pace or good foot skills. Meanwhile, Goddard is a really good player, but not leadership material. He's also not a fast line-breaker. I'd prefer to spend big cash on a young inside/outside mid like Boak or a key position player like Cloke. I'd even throw big coin at the three Hawks. They all have leadership and ball extraction ability. They're our best plays. As for Milne, he's a very good player. I'm only against him because I decry the weed that he is.
  23. Not Stanton, Goddard or Milne. Would certainly go the three Hawks though.
