  1. Everyone looks better in a Melbourne jumper.
  2. If Trac gets to Carlton, we'd be handing them a flag IMO. If I were Carlton, I'd be trading McKay to Melbourne for Trac, and possibly their first rounder.
  3. We clearly wanted to give McVee some education tonight, so he played on Daicos, who pantsed him. Nibbler went to Daicos in the last quarter because we wanted to limit the damage. That didn't work as Daicos ran around got collected 12 in the last.
  4. Gee, it was a bloody ordinary performance. I know there was some experimentation, but I thought it in the Port game and I thought it all night, not sure Judd is a mid. Maybe he needs more exposure in there, so he doesn't rush his disposals, because I reckon 3 or 4 of his kicks resulted in turnover goals against. Some players (like Salem) are just better when the play is in front of them. Maybe it's more about releasing McVee to play that Rivers 2023 role of pinging off half back and allowing AMW to play the deep 1v1 on the dangerous small? Thought Kozzy was superb early, but as soon as he sort of got Moore, it was like it played on his mind, and he was never as electric as he was in the first half. I hope Viney had a huge tag, because he was nowhere. Aside from that KB game last year where we had their measure, we've become their bunnies. And they are scum. Need to turn the tables on them next year. Collingwood play with the arrogance that McRae has as a coach. Almost as if he has instructed them to toy with us. And we let them tonight. That forward half needs more x factor and I'm afraid to say it, but the Petty forward experiment, I think, should be put in the bin.
  5. Sydney has to be the worst minor premier in the history of the competition. Not only did they lose to the wooden spooner, they also had a 100+ point loss in there.
  6. Not very well. 😆
  7. So in other words, the board has done the classic 2024 PR move of let's say being deceitful to members vis a vis remuneration of costs and are simply hoping everyone forgets that they've wasted time and money fighting against better governance. My view and experience too, @old55.
  8. He's a right footer though.
  9. You want to put a brick through someone who wants to end poor governance and an elitest closed shop in your football club, because they send you an email? Peter is a passionate Melbourne supporter that wanted better from Melbourne and that included greater checks and balances at board and governance level. Meanwhile, Kate became a Melbourne supporter 10 something years ago. I'm not sure people really understand what's going on here.
  10. I don't think Rachele is as bad defensively as some are making out, but the forward pressure question is different depending on the game style being played. With a forward half territory game, inside 50 tackles are essential. But if we look to go a little quicker (think 2018 style corridor footy), hopefully we capitalise on inside 50s and convert them before the ball has a chance to ping out.
  11. I find the idea of a medal strange when we already have the cup and the Norm Smith medal. Isn't the cup enough for the captain? They get to hold it up first with the coach. The most special moment every season.
  12. Thanks Kate.
  13. I agree, I prefer a quiet president that works quietly and fastidiously in the background, but as you say, it's very quiet in the background!
  14. Wowee, not a good sign. So many of our MCC supporters are hopeless. (and I am one, so have to put up with their fair weather supporting, which manifests with them constantly asking who player number x is when they jump back on the bandwagon)
  15. We'll have old mate Whitey instead.
  16. It could also be that he went to Caulfield Grammar. There were quite a few of us back in my day.
  17. I'd happily give up our future first for Rachele. He is a gun. ANB + F1 for Rachele, and maybe a future pick or two so we're loaded up next year for Ah-Mu.
  18. Sorry, what does this mean?
  19. Me too. Has a natural instinct for goal that only Kozzy and Fritta have in our forwardline.
  20. This should have been their primary focus all along. Peter Lawrence is not disrupting that. Their inability to get the base done rests at their own feet. Stability is good, a closed shop is not.
  21. It's the fact you could give him the off season to work on those things, not drop him for the last game. I agree it's doubtful they'd entertain trading him, but I think it's worth asking the question if we believe he is in the top 2 or 3 targets we have and can make it work within our TPP. I wouldn't want him being paid more than Kozzy for example. But you do sometimes have to pay a premium to lure a player away. I'd just hope the lure of Melbourne (the city) is enough, and playing in a better team.
  22. Really? Old Time Demon for sure. Nice bit of sexism. She's a good reporter that writes some things that make Melbourne supporters annoyed from time to time. Her gender is irrelevant.
  23. I think if we could land an x factor forward *and* an elite young mid that would be a brilliant off season. We might even be able to land that x factor forward in the draft. Maybe someone like Reid or Cotton. They're not of the forward class of Rachele, but they could provide something inside 50 until they move into the midfield.
  24. One of my favourite goals. That and Farmer's one out at Waverley.
  25. He was a pick 6 and has kicked 70 goals in 56 games. Will only get better. Not sure if he passes the no DH policy, but back ourselves to keep his feet on the ground.
