  1. If he's not ready now, then when? I think it is time to make someone captain for the long haul. Time to look to the future. Green's been great and would be a deserving captain but he likely wont be there in 5 years. It's between Davey and Moloney for me. Id go with Davey.
  2. Wasnt too bad. He whacked Steve Da Rui (from memory). Wasnt a king hit but was reckless. In the context of the Prelim Final, he was unlucky. There were plenty of incidents that game that could have had players reported i.e Kernahan on Duursma is just one. Cant remember how many weeks he got. If he played for Collingwood, who knows.
  3. As he is/was a Richmond supporter, I wonder what Tom Scully's opinion of Jordan McMahon is? Had McMahon missed that kick after the siren, Scully would be all but on his way to Punt Road. Strange days indeed. :D
  4. Yeah, youre missing something. Richmond have 5 wins and a draw. We have 4 wins. Doesnt matter what happens next week, we get the spoon. If we win, we still get the spoon, but miss out on the PP. We wont win.
  5. Yeah, forgot about the video-audio mix up. I think it shows an Andy Lovell goal with commentary for a Jim Stynes goal. Plus there is more than once where they repeat the footage. I think it shows Robbie Flower kicking the same goal twice. I also think that some of the segments are just ripped off from some club function put together by Stephen Phillips. Theres also a couple Channel 9 news pieces that theyve just edited in that seem to have no conext at all. I rented it with the plan to buy it if I liked it. I didnt buy it. Id like to know if anybody has seen the other DVDs and if theyre worth getting.
  6. Its going to be an interesting finals series. A couple of months ago is was a lock for Saints v Cats. Now its opening up. It is frightening to think that Collingwood are a genuine possibility. God help us. Anyone but them. Odds have tightened up. ST KILDA 3.00 GEELONG 3.40 COLLINGWOOD 3.65
  7. Its not over yet. Lets not be complacent. We could beat the Saints and Richmond could, umm I dont know, they could get docked premiership points for bringing the game into disrepute? After we beat Port I thought it wasnt going to happen. But we did it. Somehow, we did it. Hello Mr Scully. Let me show you to your locker.
  8. There's a couple of other DVDs around. Red and Blue - History of the Melbourne Football Club 1939 - 2005. http://www.dvdland.com.au/products/RED-AND...TBALL-CLUB.html Melbourne Demons Magic Moments. http://www.dvdland.com.au/products/MAGIC-M...-MELBOURNE.html Ive seen the Magic Moments DVD. Its about 90 minutes long. Its ok. But not enough old footage. For example, its cut up into themes, like great games, great goals, great marks and greats of the club. In the greats of the club segments, not only is Brad Miller counted as a great of the club, but they show more Miller highlights than they show Robbie Flower highlights. Most of the focus is on the last decade or so. Not really worthwhile.
  9. Looks like they've suspended it for the time being. Will probably be back up tonight or tomorrow. Its listed under Australian Rules, AFL Season 2010.
  10. Yeah, I heard Bails after the game say that they took Wheels off because of back related tightness in the hammy or something along those lines. Hopefully it is nothing more. I thought maybe this morning that Larkins had some more immediate information. I guess we'll know more tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
  11. Just saw the Centrebet have opened the books on the 2010 Premiership. We are equal 12th with Port Adelaide at $67. Below us are Richmond $81, Fremantle $101 and North $101. Full list. ST KILDA 2.85 GEELONG 4.50 COLLINGWOOD 5.25 CARLTON 10.00 WESTERN BULLDOGS 10.00 ADELAIDE 17.00 HAWTHORN 17.00 BRISBANE 21.00 WEST COAST 41.00 ESSENDON 51.00 SYDNEY 51.00 MELBOURNE 67.00 PORT ADELAIDE 67.00 RICHMOND 81.00 FREMANTLE 101.00 NORTH MELBOURNE 101.00
  12. I saw on the Sunday Footy Show, Doc Larkins said Wheels season is over. I am totally gutted by this. Was really looking forward to seeing him carried off the ground next week on teammates shoulders. I guess instead he'll do a lap in the back of a car. I guess we'll just have to make do with that. This season has been a sick joke. I hope there is some way that Wheels can get up for the game.
  13. The Draft should be televised. Thats a big thumbs up from me. But the Countdown thing is stupid. Why do they have to try and make a gameshow out of everything? I guess they'll be hoping Guy Sebastian is the number 1 pick. Stupid stupid idea.
  14. I think we've just found our 2010 marketing slogan. Certainly more subtle than They Know We're Cumming.......I mean Coming.
  15. Maybe we can get Maury Povich to host the Draft this year. Seriously, this is rubbish. If it turns out to be true, I will kill somebody. Garry Lyon could have gone to Hawthorn under the Father-Son rule. But chose to go to the club he was zoned to instead. Good man.
  16. Any chance we can get the kid named 'Snow' onto our list?
  17. Great to see Wheels back. Good stuff. Bartram must have just been dropped since he is an emergency. As for Miller and Dunn, I guess we'll find out. I reckon Dunn could well be injured.
  18. Good on ya Robbo. And good luck. Wherever he goes next, he will always be remembered as a Demon.
  19. Remember when 'Around the Grounds' actually meant going around the grounds? They fired through the scores of the other games in rapid fire succession. I remember not being able to go to a Melbourne v Fitzroy game in probably about 1983. The only radio coverage of the game was on the racing station. So it was basically score updates inbetween the races from around the country. Talk about frustrating. And how about the old Footy Record with the 'codes' for the other games scores on the scoreboard? Youd look up and see something like E is 10 goals up on F and youd be asking, 'Who is E and F?"
  20. I prefer the 3AW team. Good mix of entertainment and analysis. They don't take themselves too serious while not totally forgetting about the game itself. The old channel 9 Sunday afternoon team of Brian Taylor, Garry Lyon and James Brayshaw was the best TV trio ever. It didn't matter who was playing, it was just worth watching just for the laughs. Also, I think Gerard Whateley is the most underrated football media person going around. Always has an interesting and intelligent perspective on football issues.
  21. As many as possible. Personaly I won't be satisfied until the prematch trumpeter is replaced by a didgeridoo rendition of the club song, and the postmatch change room celebrations resemble something approaching a corroboree. Yeah agree totally. The only colours that matter are red and blue. Wow. That is a sad stat indeed 45h. Shame he couldn't get out on the ground against the Dockers.
  22. Lucas would be one of my favourite non-Melbourne players over the last decade. Always gave his all and is a genuinely good bloke. A quiet achiever. Anybody who plays 270 games over a 14 year career at a successful club like Essendon, must be doing something right. Yeah ok, he's probably not one of the alltime greats. But like Rhino said, you have to take it with a grain of salt. He's been a great servant of the Bombers over his career. Would have loved him in a Melbourne jumper. Good luck to him in whatever he chooses to do next with his life.
  23. I'd be disappointed if Wheels and Wheat didnt get a game should they be fit. Hopefully they get over their injuries and have one last run around the G. If there are any young players who need a game, then give them a game too. But I think it would be good for club morale to give loyal servants a game to go out on. It might be token but we're not playing finals, so give them a game I say.
  24. Grand Final day is about as close as I come to having a religious day on my calender. My hope is that Collingwood make the GF and lose. Whether it's StKilda or Geelong or whoever else, I'm am not fussed. As a supporter of a club enduring a significant premiership drought, I wouldn't mind seeing the Saints win one.
  25. He played in the 2001 and 2002 premierships. Also played in the 2004 GF loss. He played every game in 2003 but missed the finals, so even though he wasnt technically a part of the 3-peat, he was a big part of it. From all reports he is brilliant with matchday analysis. Good signing by the Roos. Good luck to them.
