  1. Demonland never disappoints.
  2. Oscar McDonald getting utterly schooled.
  3. Garland seems so out of place. How far this team as come.
  4. It's so easy to predict a top 8 team. Make sure Eagles, Swans, Hawks, Cats and Crows are in there. Add in 1-2 up-and-coming teams. Take one of last year's finalists out and add one team from 9th-12th. No one really takes any risks. It's pointless.
  5. We can fall anywhere between 12th and 4th. League is super tight and competitive and NO team is guaranteed finals spot. Little room for error. Gonna be a great season broadly even if Melbourne doesn't make it. Sydney, Geelong, Hawthorn will be seriously challenged. GWS clear favourites. Melbourne, Saints, Dogs, Power, Tigers, Crows, Bombers all fighting for a spot. Aforementioned giants trying to stay relevant. Dockers are a smokey. Eagles. Suns. North. Hardest year to predict yet. NOTHING is certain. Can't wait
  6. Lloyd and Dunstall are not journalists. They are good for insight into the league, but they are not journalists. There are no good football journalists. Don't Mistake special insight and opinion for journalism. Caro used to be good but she succumbed to the pressure of Fairfax's push towards gotcha jernalisms to help get the company outta the red.
  7. Of course. Can't hold it against them. In hindsight though it would have made more sense if they were already mid-tier. They were bottom of the table and pretty awful. He made them substantially better but nothing more than..a mid-range team. Melbourne dumped Paul McNamee bevause he tried to do the same thing with Jonathon Brown. Probably worked out for the better.
  8. Dare I say the Judd years have hurt Carlton. Too many years as a middle of the road team and not enough talent coming in. They probably needed another 2-3 years at the bottom in 08-2011 to build a team. The Judd years are coming back to hurt them. Shockingly similar to Melbourne circa 2010-2011.
  9. Pls. We were in second gear for a good 70% of the match and Carlton have gone in with a less experienced side today. Saints should rightly be favourites Round 1 but your hyperbolic post is akin to a Trump press conference.
  10. Will lead us to a flag.
  11. I actually did an internship at a rather large Melbourne newspaper (it's not the one you think) and was rather gobsmacked at not just the general lack of research being put into developing stories, but also the lack of knowledge a lot of the journalists had on how to actually research. One source I recommended for a story -- which was a medical journal -- was dismissed by a senior editor because it was sourced by an article on Wikipedia. It wasn't *on* Wikipedia; it was sourced on it. In another case, I questioned the date of a special event, 100% certain the date proposed during the briefing was wrong but I pretended I wasn't sure so I didn't seem like a know-it-all. The editor completely dismissed it and didn't even double check. It went to print and turns out my date was correct. In another case, the social media editor, whose role was nothing other than to come up with snazzy headlines and images for the social media profiles, had to subedit a journalist's article on a new Apple product because it was riddled with errors. It gets worse: a major court case taking place at the time created a lot of tension in the office. One journo in particular was getting angry at the department editors because they were clearly driving a campaign, when the journalist suggested they should have been supporting the defendant if they were going to advocate (it was a civil case). The coverage was so narky and lacking in facts that 2 journalists actually resigned. One article in particular had to be retracted and the parent company was fined for contempt of court, despite numerous complaints by journalists that the coverage was unethical. All in all the two-week internship quite literally turned me off working on *that* sort of media environment. The place was depressing af.
  12. I *never* have cash on me. Any cash I do have I generally tend to lose because it's lose change and I always deal with cards. If a place doesn't have eftpos they simply don't get my service. Ever. I'd have done exactly the same thing.
  13. He and Stretch are basically the same type of player. Not sure we need both in the side at the same time.
  14. VB hasn't had a good first two pre-season games.
  15. Vince's awareness and skills have fallen off so much in the past 12 months.
  16. Are these commentators for real? Kreuzer had no eyes for the ball. How is that "fair play"?
  17. Not much of an improvement over the Bulldogs current song. Which they'd go back to "Sons of the 'Scray". I actually really like Mike Brady's rendition. Speed it up to 1.25 speed and it could easily be their game-day song.
  18. We had an opportunity to take over Olympic Park but baulked at the price. This was during the Gardner years I believe.
  19. Is this the jumper being used during the season? Did I read correctly somewhere that we're wearing it round 1?
  20. Wow he made it to the family day. If he can get through that then he must be okay...
  21. Smarts and experience got the better of him. Murphy's been schooled like that many a time over the years. Hardly embarrassing.
  22. I'm watching on the international feed via VPN. I can stream 4K and NBA games in HD fine. But this website only has Internet speeds as quality (it doesn't list resolution), and it tells me it can't stream at "5mb/s", which I assume in 720p. So I'm stuck at 2mb/s, which is SD. Still cheaper and more appealing for me than Foxtel.
  23. Hands in back, throwing, head high, tunnelling.
  24. WEEDS!
  25. There's no middle ground for McDonald and Vince. When they do stupid things, your heart stops and you want to hurt someone.
