  1. Today wouldn't have matter if we dealt with North like we were supposed to. Ultimately if we miss it'll be losses like that we look back on, like losing to Carlton last year, Saints twice, and so on and so on. We have found ourselves in touch with the 8 for most of the past 2 seasons yet have faltered badly when it matters. If anyone tries to find "improvement" in a team that finishes mid table two years in a row, I'll neck myself.
  2. GWS played a run and carry game and trusted their skills to make the cross across field to free up space. Oliver being the first handball in a chain isn't the problem, it's his teammates who try short 15 meter chips down the line, or miss handball targets from 10 meters away. Take Oliver out of the equation and I reckon we are a 3-4 less win side. Your greatly understated his influence.
  3. No point making massive changes, just shuffling deck chairs. We need continuity and more height up forward so Weeds I suspect will come in for Watts, who seems set for a VFL run. Pedo may go otherwise. Brayshaw for Melksham is probably the only straight swap I can think of.
  4. Oliver was very good I thought. Along with Gawn allowed us to compete better around stoppages and keep the deficit down.
  5. And just like that, we're out of the 8. How depressing.
  6. I feel that the team has hit a wall. Perhaps we've overachieved. Anything less than finals would be a failure but that's a given now, so it doesn't matter either way. Maybe it's a mental hurdle...but many a perennial loser in the side.
  7. Spoke too soon. What an awful goal to give up.
  8. We've been very good this quarter. Too late though.
  9. Last week woke me up a bit. I got so angry, and I hated how I felt and behaved. What's the point, really? It's an emotional investment that is far too costly. It ruined my weekend. Where does it all lead to? What's the end goal? Wins make for a great feeling but I can cling on for so long. I'm not attending the final 3 games. If they make finals, I'll jump back on.
  10. Watts is pathetic. We need him out of the club. I'm sorry but get these perennial losers out the door. Sick of standing up for this guy.
  11. He's been badly shown up the past two weeks. It's as big a choke as I've seen. Huge lesson for him. Hopefully he's better for it. We've been bullied the past two weeks as a football club and the sad thing is it's cost us our season. I tweaked a nerve watching last week. I think I hit a wall. I'm mentally exhausted and haven't really been interested today. I might be done with AFL after this season.
  12. Jones is a perennial loser and it shows. Bad. Our season is on the line and the response after last week has somehow made me more disappointed than I was after last week. This club unfortunately will struggle to shed this tag. Mentally weak, and just losers. Goodwin is being bullied by Cameron.
  13. 1 goal in 15 minutes kicking with a 5-6 goal breeze.
  14. When we kick AGAINST the wind we bomb it long. When we kick WITH the wind we over use and kick short. I DON'T UNDERSTAND.
  15. Did you hear Goodwin at quarter time? "We were too quick kicking into the wind." I find that astonishing. We played like millionaires kicking with a 10 goal breeze. And the Giants smashed us.
  16. Disappointed with both the team urgency and Goodwin's coaching this past two weeks. A finals spot is on the line. This is awful.
  17. We won't get close. GWS will play in second gear and still win from here. Our defensive accountability is pathetic.
  18. Goodwin: "We played too quick into the breeze." Jesus Hey Christ.
  19. No chance. The Giants pressure is scary Nothing to do with the wind. Most of their goals came within striking distance. They absolutely dominated around the ball and in transition. We must keep the losing margin below 30 points. We can't afford much of a percentage drop. Lose by 10 goals and imo our season is finished.
  20. That's our season summed up in a quarter: hope, potential, looks good, and then brought down back to Earth. I don't really care if they lose today. Fact is that it shouldn't matter because we should have taken care of North last week. We didn't, so now it stands that we're just making up the numbers.
  21. A loss today was to be seen. The loss last week stands as the nail in the coffin. Wheels have fallen off unfortunately.
  22. I'm gobsmacked. But not surprised. Finals won't happen this year.
  23. Come on, Cats. Gees. In the words of John Connor: "Not good...not good!"
