  1. he has shocking awareness, no peripheral vision, and often passes up the first and/or best option because he understates the urgency and pressure being applied around him. Watch the game again. I counted three Hawthorn goals that came as a result of a posession chain he was involved in, where he gave off a hospital handpass or kick, leading to a turnover/tackle/stoppage. Nathan Jones does it as well but can at least have an influence.
  2. AFL.com.au has picked us by 7 points.
  3. be buying tickets to the grand final.
  4. This is hilarious. Someone suggested as a joke on a Facebook group that we all buy tickets and not attend. Mitchell has caught wind and run a story about it.
  5. The stereotype of having money, going to the snow and driving a range rover and mocked and jeered by working class bogans who wish they could pretend they fit within the stereotype.
  6. Sports Bar at Crown always has a great atmosphere going. Same as The Duke.
  7. Best thread on Demonland. I was born in 86 and have mostly experienced misery with a handful of good but not great years. This current team is undoubtedly the best we've had in my time, maybe the 94 list as all of our best players were in their prime but we could never get them on the park at the same time. Keep the stories coming!
  8. Don't believe Silver members can get GF tickets unfortunately.
  9. I'm a Full AFL Member so given contending clubs have their own designated time ahead of neutral AFL Members (as opposed to finals, which are a free for all), and no two teams' full AFL membership numbers combined fill the Reserve, I'd say I'm in a pretty good position should we make it.
  10. It's a constant battle for respect and if you read between the lines, King's comments here are somewhat of a compliment. We played poorly yet won by 6 goals against a top 4 side we have barely beaten in a decade. A month ago we couldn't beat a top 8 side. We've beaten 4 since, meanwhile Collingwood only just got over the line with the help from umps against a GWS team missing more key players than when we smashed them by 7 goals three weeks ago. Eagles supporters are certain of a right old belting, meanwhile Tigers supporters on Bigfooty are praying for a Melbourne win because they're also certain they'll smash us. Pies supporters are brimming with confidence, I admit I feel there is something about this Collingwood team and despite being consistently average against top 8 teams they are 1 win away from a GF. Of both them and Richmond I'd actually rather play the Tigers because I don't think we match up well against the Pies, and if they get over Richmond I just can't see them losing the GF. We now sit as a team having come over two confident and comfortable wins against apparent contenders, and are supposedly the farthest away from the flag. We may well be, and Eagles are rightful favourites this week, but we will give them hell. WC hasn't kicked 100 points for 7 weeks. they've played Brisbane, Port, Freo, Melbourne and Collingwood. Barely beat Lions and Power, lost to us, and stumbled over the line against the Pies. Our formline is better and King is just trying to rev us up. He knows we're much better than we were in the first half on Friday. And we are well within the capacity to not only beat WC, but absolutely smash them.
  11. I've forked over 7k for a Griswold European Vacation leaving at 5am on the Sunday after the GF (at 5am mind you, so if we go all the way, I'm in trouble on that flight), so a Perf trip isn't on the cards for me. Otherwise I'd be there.
  12. Tyson I feel is struggling. People call to rest Spargo yet overlook Tyson, who lacks peripheral vision and ignores the first option as a result, believing he has more time than he does. This has stood out quite a bit in the past two games. I counted three Hawthorn goals on Friday that came moments after Tyson had possession. That may seem nitpicky but there is a theme. He gives off hospital handpasses and is a poor man's Nathan Jones. IMO Vince brings with him better vision and defensive accountability, and he also plays a better run-with role. He is also much better in the air and at ground level, which will be vital against the Eagles.
  13. The poos and wees having a right old aneurism after losing to us lol Love these threads.
  14. everyone here bangs on about him being dropped. clueless. if vince is fit and ready to go, get rid of Tyson. Please.
  15. in the city. 3-1 Melbourne. compared to 20-1 last week.
  16. i disagree because i think Clarkson is an honest coach that drives home the non negotiables. knocking out players is an old tactic that doesn't work and has been stamped out of the game. you need collective defensive accountability and the hard tackling and hits come as a product of that, not as a directive. [censored] teams without a chance of winning go in with the "take him out" mantra. imo clarkson will be less about jumping into max and more about stopping the tap advantage. Clarkson is too smart to do what either of you have suggested.
  17. Yes but about preparing yourself for the game?
  18. you'd think finals alone would see a boost of at least 10k in members.
  19. Put through a request to work night shifts all month so I could be assured I'd be free to go and watch finals. The downside is that, with no one around I've been lingering around Demonland a lot and appears the site has now been blocked. I have to put in a request to IT to have it unblocked lol Gotta prove it's of value to my work. Anyway I'll be on like 2 hours sleep at the game as I was last week. Good times.
  20. Eagles supporters would be (and are going by comments on WA News outlet Facebook pages).
  21. I respect them and don't necessarily hate their current team (or the team that won 4 flags recently). I was too young to remember the 80s and the 96 merger is a distant memory for me, although I remember the merger game. Their fans are a special breed though, cocky as hell and rightfully so. A proud club we should aspire towards. I would love nothing better than to bury them tomorrow.
  22. Hawthorn lost to Brisbane twice and almost crumbled against St Kilda. It happens. Essendon smashed West Coast in Perth.
  23. Literally just then on Fox Footy, they interviewed him and said he is 100% and playing. Unrelated to past injuries.
