Yes titan, I have. Great clubs don't lose the battles we lose. It's as simple as that. Very happy to be proven wrong by yourself and others. I mean that. Go back if you can be bothered and see my posts after our round 1 loss to Port. I was very much in battle with the likes of SWYL and a few others who constantly belittled the club at the time. This year has completely broken me. It arguably started after our loss to Hawthorn in round 4-5 2018 but 2019 was a huge burn for me and this club. I'm sorry but the burden of expectation and proof and risen for me now.

The first post strengthens the argument of the second. 1. I don't think he'll be leaving Collingwood. 2. If he does and he choose Brisbane over us, it's an indictment. How hard is that to read? Way to build your own narrative for a few forum likes. Didn't take you for a Gestapo lapdog.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ADAM TOMLINSON
wow called it.

Farewell Sam Frost
I think the point is binman is that it would be more worthwhile looking to trade Oscar for some value, maybe late 2nd round, and then re-sign Frost, rather than to let Frost walk. This is shocking list management no matter how you look at it. Especially if we fail to land Elliot and are forced to overpay a spud like Tomlinson to get our cap space filled.

If Elliot signs with Brisbane, it would be another indictment on Goodwin and co at the hands of Brisbane. Their progression and performance this year across the season showed up Goodwin and the club, and now we may lose a free agency race against a team that started 2018 at 0-8. I know we've really been no better than Brisbane over the past decade but 2019 has been an absolute dagger into our reputation and appeal to players, fans and media alike. Even Richmond was able to get Prestia and Caddy over the line after their pathetic 2016 season. We stand to get Langdon and overpay for a Frost replacement in Tomlinson, when the former probably would have been cheaper to keep.

Won't be leaving Collingwood.

Longer we go without hearing of a decision the more likely is he's leaving Collingwood imo.

Our Indigenous Recruiting
Stack and Pickett won't be in the system for long. Flash in the pan Indigenous players of the Pickett variety don't last long for a variety of reasons, many of them personal and cultural. If we we're absolutely certain at draft time of the type of players both Pickett and Jetta would be across their careers, I'd choose Jetta every day of the week. Pickett is a great football story and no doubt he'll provide plenty of highlights. Where he has come from and what he has done is a true testament to his character. But he won't last long. Richmond had the flexibility to draft a player of Pickett's football and personal history because he was coming into a successful environment with strong leaders. Bringing a guy like Pickett into a team like Melbourne, where its two captains either can't string a sentence together or whose head is weighed down whenever they walk off the ground after a loss, and you'd end up with a Jurrah 2.0 scenario. Melbourne's drafting in this area has been strong in recent years. Richmond got lucky on an EXTREMELY risky pick. Good luck to the kid.

Farewell Sam Frost
Frost played in a team with a fit May, Lever, Jetta, Salem and Hibberd. Albeit not many but he still played.

Petty will be a key forward. Yes, maybe. But we needn't.

Farewell Sam Frost
He'll get to Hawthorn anyway if he falls into the draft.

Farewell Sam Frost
In my 30 years supporting this club we appear to struggle more than any other club in retaining players we actually *need*. We fill areas that have holes but then lose assets in other areas. I know that the balancing act isn't easy but we are losing too much depth, too often.
-
Farewell Sam Frost
Utterly ludicrous we are letting him walk. A back 6 of May, Lever, Jetta, Hibberd, Hore, and Frost is solid af. Instead, we lose both Lewis and Frost in the offseason, bring in some outside wingers but now are resigned to playing a backline with little depth, and OMac or one of the Wagners automatically fitting into the side. Goodwin and co. better have some chips up their sleeve because they appear to be going all in on Tomlinson and Langdon. We're now set to lose our second key position player in two offseasons. I just don't understand it. Meanwhile the small forwards we are BEGGING for are choosing [censored] St Kilda, Bulldogs or Carlton over us. It's like we take two steps forward two steps back every year. Five years ago we couldn't buy a decent midfielder. We had key forwards in Clarke, Howe, and some potential down back. Then we stacked ourselves with midfielders at the draft but suffered down back. Now we've stacked our backline, lost our best forward through no fault of our own, let a key position backman walk out, and bring in some wingers because we need outside pace. Meanwhile, nothing on the small forward front. I don't know what's going on.

26-year-old key position player. We are letting him walk out the door. I hope we know what we're doing.

Recreating the Tigers Premiership side with our list
A better comparison imo would be Richmond's 2017 side with our 2019 side. Comparing us to an established side whose best players are all late 20s after they've just won their 2nd flag in 3 years and probably should have won 3 in a row, is a bit silly and unfair. Ultimately we can look at aiming at Richmond's 2017 season and side. Way too high a standard comparing us to an established finals side now. also I think a fairer comparison might be Geelong's 2017 team. imo we're quite close to them in terms of how the side is structured.

Great news. Thanks for your service Jonesy. But this is long overdue.

2019 - thank god it’s over!!!
Will never forget sitting in a hotel bar with a colleague watching the Melbourne vs Adelaide game. We're 30 points up and looking ominous. I turned to him and said, "They will break my heart tonight." You could smell it. That loss was the end of the season for me.

Grand Final memories
zero hope in 2000. my sisters never cared for football but got on the bandwagon. they were so excited for the day but my dad and I knew what the result was going to be. tbh my most vivid memory of 2000 was how bad Grgic was, and seeing Melbourne supporters jeer and cheer as he went to the bench. was too young for 88.
