  1. Well they have 1 of 6, a mere 30 seconds in lol
  2. Damien Monkhorst turned into a meat pie.
  3. Scully's career was always destined for the toilet when he was offered $1 million a year after 2 seasons in the league. Accept it and play with the burden of pressure. Decline it and you're that "guy who turned down $1 million". I do believe he'd have been a much better player had he stayed at Melbourne. If not for a Sheedy vendetta, GWS may have thrown their coin elsewhere. Anyway, Dees by 12. Goals. Seriously, we should pansy them. Much better on paper.
  4. jetta and McDonald out for Jackson and Jones.
  5. If we beat Hawthorn by 150 points this weekend then maybe we can start making that clear comparison.
  6. praha replied to Billy's topic in Melbourne Demons
He would have struggled regardless. I can't see him making the top 22 even with ANB and Spargo ahead of him.
  7. interestingly a recent defamation case actually holds organisations to account for comments on their pages. individually it's obviously different but it is a step in the right direction. My recommendation is that any organisation that is public facing with public facing employees that are in and scrutinised by the media, everyone has a verified profile (blue tick) with all content moderated and signed off. Players can have their personal profiles, but on private and only for close friends and family. Community and social media specialists are hired exclusively for the moderating and managing of these profiles. From a branding perspective it is a no brainer but also for the sake of PR, publicity, AND player wellfare it controls the story, the imagery, the message, and the engagement. As a society we still see social media as a "private" thing and thus people and players should have a "right" to engage safely, free from toxicity. It can be approached that way but atm players basically for the most part have free reign, and they are opening themselves and the club to all sorts of trouble, as we have seen recently with these racist posts. In essence the club is liable here because it hasn't fulfilled its obligation to both prepare and train players for this sort of stuff, and basically allows it to happen. Relying on government and social media outlets to protect them from this stuff is futile. The resources are there to take full control and to shield players from this stuff. The approach needs to change.
  8. Yes. We're just complete racial segregation away from apartheid. So close I can taste it...
  9. pointless making laws because unless it's a global application of law it's very easy to create a false papertrail using a vpn and secure connection. my honest opinion is probably a bit controversial but we keep giving voice to fake profiles that are created for the sake of causing controversy. they are digital arsonists. we are chasing ghosts. telling the broader community that it's "not ok" to say racism is society's "well duh!" moment, like when people saying, "Rape is never okay". You don't say? stop publicing fake egg profiles. the people that do this [censored] are having a larf because they know they'll never be caught. Organisations would be better served to hire online moderators and community managers to immediately delete and block these profiles. I just find it strange that we keep publicing and talking about fake social media profiles. I've worked in the online media and social media space for a decade, it's unfortuante but the reality is that amplification of the message only adds fuel to the fire. It really is best to just hide/delete and bury, and shape the narrative of the community yourself. Otherwise it's futile.
  10. hannan has a high football iq and knows positioning. his performance is ultimately determined by the quality of possession coming out of defence. he gets 10 possessions but they're often possessions that put us in a good position to score. once he figures out how to win more of the ball consistently he can be very damaging for us. we're always well placed when he and/or Petracca are getting good touches around the wing and half forward. i don't think it's a coincidence that a low impact Hannan game often results in a loss.
  11. Thank god. AVB, Hannan, Viney all huge and big impact. Oscar an important inclusion. Oliver and Max had clumsy games. Their speed challenged us at times but we held firm. Still major concerns about conversion and skill efficiency. Our turnovers continue to kill us.
  12. We can still Melbourne this and lose.
  13. AVB Viney Hannan and Oliver had had huge second half.
  14. lol you can hear Lyon sigh in the background whenever we make a mistake.
  15. These umpires are cooked.
  16. Petracca doing his best to lose this game for us.
  17. Presence. That is why Weiderman is playing.
  18. 5 entries for 3 scoring shots.
  19. CHOOFTA. Weeds with more impact in 2 quarters than Mcdonald has had all year.
  20. Insanity from Goodwin not to have Weeds in sooner. He is the target we need.
  21. but we're not. you could say that about a majority of our games the past 18 months. this isn't an uncommon issue. it's a consistent theme. turnovers are symbolic of the broader issues.
  22. GC were a 3-4 goal better team that quarter. We look completely uninspired. There's no identity to what we do. GC have a clear goal and they are bullying us.
