Melbourne Football Club - The CEO
I mean he's the CEO of the Chamber of COMMERCE. Of course he's going to campaign to get people back into the Melbourne Central BUSINESS District. And given recent revelations, his "yapping" about lockdowns are somewhat vindicated. They were completely overblown and unnecessary.

PREGAME: Rd 08 vs West Coast
When Max is having a strong defensive game we tend to win. Would love to see some stats that back that up as it's purely anecdotal. But Max's presence is and always has been as a nullifying defensive ruckman whose clearance work at stoppages can prove effective at halting opposition momentum. In games where he is purely a tap ruckman without much impact elsewhere, we effectively lose a defender.

NON-MFC: Round 07
He's a good player but I dislike Curnow. He's got peak "Carlton wannabe" vibes about him.

GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond
Happy for Richmond to kick one more goal and for that goal to come from Rioli for reasons I won't disclose.

GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond
Not sure Tigers have the poise to score from a centre clearance and we are doing okay from stoppages. The winner off this game will come from goals kicked from stoppages along the 50 meter arc. Almost all goals so far have come from set shots. I suspect it'll open up a bit in the second half with more scoring. My concern is that Richmond look super quick on the turnover.

Was about to say I think Spargo is playing well lol

GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond
Honestly I think we are giving them too much respect. We hold the ball hoping to find a clear entry and by the time we go forward it's clogged. It's a tale as old as time.

Richmond undoubtedly playing better than us. Absorbed a lot of pressure early. They look better on transition.

What they're saying down at Punt Road
Collingwood supporters are worse because they have an airy confidence and it's hard to talk back to them. Richmond supporters though are generally a few more notches down the IQ radar. They made the Prelim in 95. I was there that day at Waverly. Miserable day. Geelong pumped them. But Richmond supporters were singing the song in the final minutes because they'd had such a great year. It gave me goosebumps. Funnily enough one of the most vivid football memories I have. Tigers supporters outnumbered Cats about 10 to 1 that day.

We were loud today. I was proud. But we need more.

POSTGAME: Rd 06 vs Fremantle
Honestly we never really looked like losing. Gawn just had that aura about him defensively that tends to mean we win.

GAMEDAY: Rd 06 vs Fremantle
They look far too quick and get into space way better than we do. We are defending well generally but if we turn it over at half forward they almost always score.

Time to go Goody?
Neither. In fact it's probably made me against sacking Goodwin and giving him the time to reboot and right the ship now.

Time to go Goody?
Revealed on Fox Footy that if we pay him out before end of his deal (2026) then we have to pay 100% of his remaining salary. Could be anywhere between 1.5-2 million. This would be included in the cap spend for football department spend meaning we'd likely have to pay a luxury tax of 75 cents for every dollar over up to a million, which would be likely given we'd have to pay good coin to get a half decent coach in. Club heavily scrutinised because most coached only have a 3-6 month payout clause. Goodwin has a full contract payout clause. So basically... unless he resigns we'll be with him for a while. I couldn't see us justifying that payout unless they have a good coach lined up.

And of course I plan to catch the 12:50, I get to the platform at 12:49:50 and the doors are closing... the train leaves bang on at 12:50. What is this [censored] leaving on time to the millisecond? I'll miss the first 15 minutes now.

GAMEDAY: Rd 06 vs Fremantle
I swear I saw us shortened to $2.90 shortly after Goodwin's press conference. It's now at close to $4 following news of May.

GAMEDAY: Rd 06 vs Fremantle
Going with two Carlton supporters and a Collingwood supporter today. All very into their football and with great insight. I am genuinely very interested to see what they make of us.
