POSTGAME: Rd 09 vs Hawthorn
I said in round 1 when we had 6 debutants that we needed to temper expectations. This is a transition. Today was rough but people need to be ready for a few more beltings, a few more strings of wins, a scalp or two, and overall an 7-9 win season. I've also said that 10 wins would be a huge win. Keeping Pickett has to be an absolute priority for the club. As should be getting Jackson back. We also need to go had for Worpul or however you spell his name. We missed out on Houston when we had him in the bag.

Pickett looking very dangerous.

GAMEDAY: Rd 09 vs Hawthorn
Back in the day that would be a free kick + 50 meter penalty. Given it was in the goal square it might have even been two shots on goal. And a report.

I can't handle another minute of Jefferson.

GAMEDAY: Rd 09 vs Hawthorn
We are winning in every part of the ground except in the 30 meters in front of goal.

Sharp and Jefferson are barely good VFL players. Their inclusion is badly exposing us.

We have absolutely dominated. Need to start converting.

Luke Jackson back to Victoria?
Anyone saying he isn't worth it are crazy. Freo are playing trash atm but they'd be worse without him

Luke Jackson back to Victoria?
No team has replicated that since. Probably ever.

Luke Jackson back to Victoria?
Jackson functioned as an attacking ruckman and tall midfielder, not a forward. Which evidently played a major role in the Grand Final. As with Boyd for the Dogs in 2016. You don't need your ruck to kick goals. That's what worked. I still think with time Grundy and Gawn could have worked and we'd have been better for it though.

NON-MFC: Round 08
So at a pub with Collingwood mates and mostly watched the Pies Cats game with our game on my phone. Wow what a game at the G. pies almost stole it.

Melbourne Football Club - The CEO
In Pert's defense he said that after a flag and after multiple top 4 finishes. And it was purely subjective. He may well have been telling the truth. Or what he genuinely thought to be the truth. Especially given the revelations about Collingwood's culture at the time they won the flag in 2010. In his perspective it was the best. And there is no true measure of "culture" outside of engagement surveys, performance, and retention.

Melbourne Football Club - The CEO
A good CEO is well media trained. You don't know what you don't know. Honesty is best at that level and you don't have room to spin. You're told what your told.

PREGAME: Rd 08 vs West Coast
West Coast is an absolute shambles. One good quarter should be enough. Comparing the stats of the two teams on the AFL app and their team stats are very poor. We should be aiming for at least a 7 goal win.

Melbourne Football Club - The CEO
I mean he's the CEO of the Chamber of COMMERCE. Of course he's going to campaign to get people back into the Melbourne Central BUSINESS District. And given recent revelations, his "yapping" about lockdowns are somewhat vindicated. They were completely overblown and unnecessary.

PREGAME: Rd 08 vs West Coast
When Max is having a strong defensive game we tend to win. Would love to see some stats that back that up as it's purely anecdotal. But Max's presence is and always has been as a nullifying defensive ruckman whose clearance work at stoppages can prove effective at halting opposition momentum. In games where he is purely a tap ruckman without much impact elsewhere, we effectively lose a defender.

NON-MFC: Round 07
He's a good player but I dislike Curnow. He's got peak "Carlton wannabe" vibes about him.

GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond
Happy for Richmond to kick one more goal and for that goal to come from Rioli for reasons I won't disclose.

GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond
Not sure Tigers have the poise to score from a centre clearance and we are doing okay from stoppages. The winner off this game will come from goals kicked from stoppages along the 50 meter arc. Almost all goals so far have come from set shots. I suspect it'll open up a bit in the second half with more scoring. My concern is that Richmond look super quick on the turnover.

Was about to say I think Spargo is playing well lol

GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond
Honestly I think we are giving them too much respect. We hold the ball hoping to find a clear entry and by the time we go forward it's clogged. It's a tale as old as time.
