The skin ailment "boil" or other, was infected enough to warrant a surgery under general anesthetic... it could only be that the infection was spreading into his blood. So he should not have played that same week, or he should have had support via a 2nd ruck partner, or Max should have played forward... or taken the match off, and we go in with Preuss and Keilty.?
-
He's a big young man and it might take a couple more years to build up his tank. Gawny has been working at it for years. We work with what we've got, but Preussy is a combo ruck/forward. hence his size. Another is Tracca, and he has to work harder on his weight and conditioning, as well.
-
That same attitude was applied to Jack Trengove. and that payed of for him, and us.
-
Yep, they're his skills alright. And we should learn to utilise them, as did the team in the late 80's. Frosty has imo, a good dose of anxiety on the field. With lots of games under his belt, he will get calmer, and more considered thru that.
-
And this is my whole premise Re Frost off the bench as 2nd Ruck. He can create mayhem in the middle with size and speed and if he gets coralled simple bash a handball outside the pack for us to create another contest. He can draw players to him and with his size would fdraw more than one player his way. a little like a big russel richards. He can take a good mark about the ground, and matches up well with other opposition mids, Re his size x speed. Let him crash into oppositon mids in packs and stoppages. I also like the idea of Keilty forward, in unison with Weide.,.. good hands IMO, has Keilty. Ether of Keilty or Frost ? I suspect frost will be more use on the wider wings of the 'G'. and the wider grounds. For the cattery I think disposal skills are a must this week. So I would play Keilty or Preuss this week.... and IF Preusss, then I would also add another small in, like a bedford/chandler ... someone with lightning reflexes and foot speed.

What i said was that KK himself was struggling with his form, Re injuries, concussions, and general confidence levels... because of all those things you mentioned. And this is why I would shield him until we are showing signs of finding our structures again. I want him to get off to a positive introduction into this team... not one were he is under the pump right from the first bounce. And given the cattery is so narrow, I wouldn't pick him this week, but leave his selection for one more week and practice match with Casey. He can come back in, for our home game against the bummers at the 'G'. Rnd 3.

Younger sides will still be inconsistent thru the season, even if they get away to a flier. They will be roped back in to the pack, and eventually fall of the back as mature sides improve match fitness and take control. But with more space to be found on grounds with 666, younger players will debut early once again, as was back in the day.

Give it time 'RN'. Probably more like it, he probably burnt his asparagus, swallowing a jaffle.
-
Ha, the Mcc needs some jerrying up again, do they ? Typical toffs. They're all front runners. O' there...
-
Some players will return to some form this week. Some other players might feel the sword of the selectors, after Rnd 2... and others might get a promotion for Rnd 3. Nothing new here. Just checks and balances, early season.

Hah, a dogs supporter. Is that Lukes dad, Mr Beverage.?

Most of the AFL stats were during a very unequal competition. These days the comp is becoming very even, so much of those stats are just redundant.

Is he really. I wouldn't bring Kolo in just yet, until the team has already found some mojo. He had a rough time with his own form with injuries at GCS, and form struggled. Lets Not bring him into a struggling side, just for the sake of a week or two. We have others who can run with the ball, that can do the job, even if just short-term. I'd like to protect him initially. Until he finds his way with us. He is coming off some very sapping health issues. A poor start in the team, could make things really tough for him to make a new go of it. We're not in that desperate a position... atmo.
-
Billy had preseason foot surgery. Lets give him more time to find his feet at Casey, just yet. I'd rather another running small, like chandler or lockhart. (If Preuss plays) but they must be fit to play.
-
The Mcc are laughing... hand in hand with their Bank Managers. all clubs add to their coffers. More than 6 months of each and every year.
-
IF us getting May to the club meant he wouldn't be available for Rnd 1, I would still be over dee moon.
-
Lewis, if fit, first back in. - Hore out May straight back. - OMc. Hunt from wing or h/forward... pushing up past the wing to run & carry, & chase. To use his run & pace both ways, between the arcs. FB/ Jetta - May - Jones HB/ Hibbo - Petty/Keilty - Lewis CL/ Salem - Brayshaw - Fritta HF/ Melksham - TMc - Hunt FF/ Preuss - Weide - Spargo R/ Gawn - Oli - Harmes Int from/ Petracca - Sparrow - ANB - cWagner - jWagner - Stretch - Lockhart Em/ Omc/Frost/Hore/

Yep. If its true that he was limping pre-game and couldn't get past a trot in the game, then he simply should not have been selected. I was unable to see the game so I don't know how he looked. .................. But i can't wait to see my first 2019 game this week. I'm hoping it was just Us chasing tails, all day, and not as bad as it all sounded on here. I expected us to get off to a slow start, with what i hoped was a proportioned preseason... designed to see out the the 2019 finals campaign. But I wasn't prepared to hear we went to sleep by Qtr time.
-
He's actually JVineys grand-father. After some work with 'the chemist', years back.
-
Well Mega... if that's still hampering him, then it goes back to the same decision making when he had the initial Plantar-Fascia injury. Don't play, until you are un-injured.
-
Lewis has been a bonus for us, leading us toward winnings, and toward finals. Lewis's maturity and knowledge, particularly coming from our nemesis club, is a gift for us, from Clarko. Yes his time is approaching, but we are on our way to being a competent Club, once again.
-
What is fully fit for Tracca ? I don't think we have ever seen him fully fit. Another I question the dedication and commitment to the game, and their betterment. If the club is keeping him 'heavy', hoping he will bust open tackles often, I think its hurting our side on the spread and defending... particularly with more space opening up.
-
We tried out players early last year... to see where they were at, how they handle the situation, and whether we can use them in the side again, or later on in the season. Better in the Non business end rather than falter towards the finals. We find out what players need to work on, early and they can spend the rest of the season honing their lesser areas. It also shows how certain players effect the team balance. Remember we aren't building a new team each preseason, we are building with a view for the coming few seasons. We're not a List tapering away, needing experienced add-ons, for quickie fixes... we are still in development phase and building. Sparrow gives us a bit more leg speed thru the middle. JKH would have given us more spread if not injured. So IMO the club will Not be putting all eggs in the 2019 basket.
-
I think we might see another small come in this week. We're a bit too lumbering in our midsized forwards, for the 6.6.6. Especially when we are a tad under prepared, entering the season.
-
Beware the Hawks 2019_ with 6.6.6. Tiges Blues should improve Doggies gamestyle Bummers
