no more excuses ... Mfc, ffs, stop making excuses, whinging publicly, and start being Ffffing ruthless as a club. Show some ballls... to the supporters. We want you to lead us !!! not follow the other donkeys with a paper tail and a drawing pin.

https://www.weather.com.au/vic/geelong With showers in the afternoon and a cool to cold evening, it will be greasy conditions IMO. Being in front at the ball, crucial. I think Spargo should be in, in these conditions. I would leave OMc out, in these conditions as well. Lockhart should suit the conditions.

This pains me. DeGoey is one of the players I had identified as a running player type with height and speed, for our mid-zone part of the ground. Didn't realise he would also be so good forward as well. I had identified a few running players that draft, that I thought we could maybe get to by mid 1st Rnd ... others of interest from memory, were Laverde, touk Miller, jPickett, Vickers-willis Dee-Goey, I remember having a play with his name, in the posts, was my Fav... bug-a !

mindset, bloody mindset. all it is, is mindset. One is a desperately wannabe star... who will take anything on to show he can. The other likes to hobnob with those who have already made it... and he seems satisfied to be in other big-names speed dial lists. ........................... We keep going for the nicer recruits... When the comparison is, the other potential recruit is on the edge. Still playing safe. So what if the guy has traffic violations,? or similar. Melbourne still plays it too clean-skin at the draft. I thought we had moved past this fairy-fluff stuff, but apparently not.

Ratugolea is too agile and nimble for Oscar imv. And i think Oscar gets a bit toe'y when there is lots of room behind him, when out at CHB.
-
Yes... but my point is, were still taking talents that are immature in mind. Too timid in mind, to become what they're skills could allow them to be... if they had a more robust attitude.
-
I'm suggesting, that either/or might be ins... that's what I would do. Not necessarily what they are doing. That made up side is in my view, the match-ups I would go in with. There maybe one player out in numbers... but the essence is there.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JAY LOCKHART
DV8 replied to Mickey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Why, we need more run in the side. The 666 will allow more small players in. The tall sloths will struggle. -
Too dour, and slow... with his play, and his decisions.

Sadly, not likely, with his mindset. And he's way too heavy, compared to Deegoey. We've recruited another boy in a mans body.

not just young players rjay... Melbourne especially, has a history of this, with our senior payers as well. What do you reckon happened on the weekend. They all went to sleep after halfway thru the first Q. Gawn jones Viney, TMc. a huge cross section of the team. and at home at the 'G'. I bet if we played away in SA we would have won the game. In the Daniher days, we did it every other year... and later, every other week... win one, lose one. With all fall down robbo . This is why the footy world do not respect our club... and this is why we could not entice good Head coaches, before the AFL stepped up to the plate.

In attitude.

He Is drunken, but he is also spot on at the same time. We at Melbournefc have made an art form of whinging... when physical steaks are dished out. This would NEVER have happened, under norm smiths demons. No whinging, just get out there and do your own hard footy. I don't think the Vineys would be doing any whinging out aloud. The time we should have kicked up sand, was with May... but we seemed to accept the head high hit as truth... rubbish decision, unless it was preordained. Melbourne not contesting the head contact at the appeal, was as weak as pizz. May-b they wanted May, to learn an early lesson, in March.

It's a wee bit like having Lance Armstrong come and do international commentary on the Le Tour de France. not on. ... sorry about the pee in a bottle irony.

or simply a mismatch of conditioning.

He would to. He would take no prisoners and make no friends... but the job would get done.

Jack was silly, pushing shytte up hill, to be fit for the season propper Jack fell down, his foot was ill, and now has come a cropper he's now lost his crown, 'mean-est on ground' Twas written in the paper, 'sore foot is all', will miss one round, or then, maybe later. TMC came down, that same worn path did tumble, as did Jack... he broke his toe, heard one did laugh, No matter ! We'll numb dat pain, and keep-him playin'. No matches will be lost ! Did come a day, when all that pain, was just to much to bear 'bring Pedo' in, I heard 'em say, or maybe go with Frost both did well, around the ground, and especially the latter. Big Max's gawn down. I heard 'em frown.. and silence that did follow Twas [censored] a wake around that ground, with sorrow they did mourn We'll have him back, by next week ! or he's name not Maxy Gawn. Alas Ol' chums, final's had come, an ending O' in Perth, The sudden return, all shocked around, 'a thud' back down to Earth' A New day's Yawn, 2019 dawns, Pre-season was the word, Got Max a partner, 'He's tearing it up', A sharing of the load Preuss by name, a big man came, from near Dynan Road The ruck is sorted, He'll not miss a game !! "We've got this", It's ours to keep'. they all were heard to say. ... but some did say, 'lets not astray', with 23 rounds to go, 'One game at a time's, to slow to keep, now Vander's in the clinic. Then Jack did waddle, 1st game back, supporters in a muddle Beware false dawns, as Rnd 2 yawns, the cattery is no picnic Lookin' to the day, after afray, May's wearin' RednBlue, and KK to the fore, replacing Hore, with Keilty in the thick'o'it Watts all this fiddle da dee, game One down, alls a frown The Cats await in lurch, til Dees do show, down Kardinai Park This week, late in March
-
Yeah... I like that, we could have sprung a surprise on them RE Maxy being out, and the others in, would have thrown Ports planning astray.
-
The skin ailment "boil" or other, was infected enough to warrant a surgery under general anesthetic... it could only be that the infection was spreading into his blood. So he should not have played that same week, or he should have had support via a 2nd ruck partner, or Max should have played forward... or taken the match off, and we go in with Preuss and Keilty.?
-
He's a big young man and it might take a couple more years to build up his tank. Gawny has been working at it for years. We work with what we've got, but Preussy is a combo ruck/forward. hence his size. Another is Tracca, and he has to work harder on his weight and conditioning, as well.
