So we're getting too close, too soon. Or you would tease us with more hints than just providing us with one hint, & very broad at that.

This is the nutshell of what I perceived as Rockliffs raspy style of communication & leadership. He seems an old fashioned strait ahead type. This can cause today's modern players minds some angst as they're ego's cringe & cry.

Is this it; or is it that they have realised the whorethorn ship is ageing & listing; & they proverbially are abandoning ship. Leaving Clarkson by his lonesome? -

damn, I'll just have to have a little bevy, whilst I sit & wait ! -
Butter - ( 'Western Star', or soft). spreads, wings, - ( midfield/winger, he flies ) yet remains ocean-bound ( Freo > Eagles,,, or West coast to East coast [ Swans or Cats #edit or GCSuns ] ) .... is it Fyfe, & we are involved, Re picks players or similar?
-
The Swans made that bed themselves, now they should just lay there.
-
Surely we could make adjustments to balance that out ? we need to get back into the early 2018 draft. A Rnd 2 pick would be good. They have they're accademy, maybe they could have our Rnd 3 pick this year, to make that work ? ... that the AFL are having a say in who's doing what, do you mean. they will surely give the nod on some things, & a "go away it think it through again boys", to other things. IMO anyway.

I just made lunch & I felt excited about footy again for the first time in Years. I love that we are targeting the tough types, instead of the morton style. Now lets get it done, & find a temporary follower.
-
Well, one or two kids this year 2016, is enough, as we already have quite a few to teach & develop... and if the mentioned 3 mature players come in this year, then keeping our 2017 2nd Rndr alive, makes more sense to me. So bringing in more kids again 2018.

but they're pointing opposite wayz? -
Nope, play hard ball, & stay the course with our 2017 2nd Rnd Pick for Hibberd. Hibberd will be a Dee. Have balls Dees.

Lets not put the cart before the horse, & get ahead of ourselves, Top 4 should be out of our thinking at this stage. We should be aiming for a very good preseason. And only hoping we make the finals at this stage. Looking too far forward is fraught with dangers for young players. Ah gee. I was hoping almost this exact scenario would occur all this morning. To use next years pick in a deal like this. But maybe woulkd be happier with the lions 2017 2nd Rnd pick back instead of 2016 30's pick this year. Please could we change the 2016 mid 30s pick,,, to the Lions 2nd Rnd pick from 2017 ?

GWS is freaking the power clubs on the slide, right out. The cats & now the squawks can see the writing on the wall. Its over ! And you both have a lot of catching up to do. As for us, Mfc, we still have a lot of learning to do. Our players & club, in being hard at it enough, still. We are on the write path, but we need these types like Jordan Lewis to help us completely get off our old pathways of the Mcc ilk. That nice club stuff has got to go ! We need to be winners, Hard at it, take no prisoners, make no excuses, Winners. . -

Stop worrying about the money, when we can get such a high quality man to stepup in red&blue to show our young kids the right pathway to winning AFL, & in springtime. If he can only play for 2 seasons, hes worth the money just for the two seasons. Its the lack of attitude that haunts the Dees ever since Smith & Barassi left our building. Let us never forget what those old 50/60's teams were, on attitudes, & were we ended up, as a bruiseless soulless club, with no backbone. It is time we took back that Attitude ! And now, and How ! -

He doesn't need to be an official leader to Command the Respect he would do, with his Cred'. He is a game changer in Big games, a Finals winner from his own boots & attitudes, & multi Premiership hero. The players will hang off his words, & the ones who do not, maybe should move on anyway. I doubt there would be many who wouldn't want to listen to his words. -

This IS the whole point, juzzkid1. Its that attitude that Lewis brings in his spirit, that is the infection we do want within our club. That fiestyness of which we saw a snippet of in young Viney this year, and the change that fiestyness brings to the team. We need bucket-loads more of that, about at the Mfc. And especially Hogan needs to be reminded of what he has & not to waste it. Jordan Lewis is the man to remind Hogan of this. -

It's his skills set, his attitude we need him for, to impart that into our whole list.. Whether he's slow of fast is irrelevant, as long as he can play next year. Its 2017 we need his attitude, Not 2018. We want his combative, never say die spirit, right now, at the Dees. Comeon Dees work something out. -

he has a contract apparently. -
I think it was Clarkson that raised it with Simpson in a conversation 12 months ago? from one report I heard/read. He's been considering the way & right time to do this renewal for a while. the timing was the thing, & the Hawks players have shown its time now.
-
Its not about the playing, how good he is, its about his leadership, his attitude, his bravado, & his 'doing his part'. He doesn't need to be the star, to help us. It is in what his in his mind, & his spirit, that is 'what is his value'.
