I don't think we would do that to him. I suspect they haven't had any offers he likes, so have made it easier all round for a team to take when they want to, as needs be. Even if rookied. So then he may be able to make some sort of deal with a club, if there is interest. Admitted I haven't tried to understand this free agency, much at all. Laws & rules offend me.
  2. We have to get a few of these guys, if they're not too costly & try them out. Sort of agree stmj. We have to recruit the ones we can, & then try to teach them to play with non negotiable's, as well. IF we get enough of them, we will find some who will do the 2 way running, & contest the footy hard. Ssome will fall by the wayside, but hey, welcome to the AFL. What chance a Dunn going to GWS, as a trade option? Do they need mature backs? ooh, I like the idea of that small forward who can go midfield. Another Pickett on the list??? awesome.
  3. Haha, big butts always play in front. try gettin around that. Apparently so was Tom Lynch in his young days, arrogant & cocky, ahead of himself. The AFL is a hard task master. Some learn slowly & the hard way. There will be more to it than that. Clubs don't let key people walk. Maybe he is not pro enough? Maybe they have one, on the line? just sayin?

That the players accidentally switched off at half time break, as if they got tired, suggests distraction away from the cause, which can only happen earlier in the week. Unless they were just physically gone, which I don't believe, as we went so hard in the first half. The lack of stopping, shutting them down, & tempo footy, suggests they're minds drifted off. With the minds goes the intensity. So the build up thru the week has a big psychological bearing on the prep' for the game, the subconscious attitude leading in.

They probably helped him earn another spot, by making him more available & early on. He is affordable to others to take the chance.

I think they were just trying to give him a taste, to see where he was up to ?& how he coped. Hoping he may do an 'Oliver'. He wasn't ready. He needs to build his tank further & his tenacity, etc, as he doesn't possess major weapons. So his style will be built up, like Mitchells was with the Swans? IMO nibblers improvements will come from his work off the playing field, in the Gym & on the roads.

I was wondering yesterday after Plapps statement on the Mfc website thanking everyone during the week, IF Roosy told them, all who are going, before he finished his last week. I thought that Plapp statement, sounded to me like bad timing, Re the VFL Grand Final. The boys seemed to come out flat after half time, after banging in earlier. Were they distracted, and did they take their minds eye off the ball. dis appointed.
  9. I've been wanting him on our list for the past couple of years. I thought he had some talent to explore. Now maybe he is mature enough? Don't know why he hasn't been rookied before now. I hope we do. They're is a bit of Brett Lovett about him in some way?
  10. ... and that we've now adopted the idea that winning in the VFL competition is good for us, all-round. The players of both clubs, the supporters, our respect gained as a club, the experience of winning, & the value for those who attend games to watch, to see genuine effort onfield. ... good for footy. its a WIN for footy & us.
  11. 2013...Darcy Cameron is an agile ruckman who is also a good marking target around the ground. Darcy Cameron has moved forward for Claremont in 2015. Picture: Matthew Poon I would hope he can become more aggressive, for his footy's sake. Worth consideration based on his pace & skills. But I'd hope he gets some ruggedness into his persona to play as a big man.
  12. Yes, he never should have been made captain at such a young age. So he did what we wanted him to do. We thru him to the wolves. And just maybe we caused his threatening injury as well. Yes we owe him, just as he owes us, to give his all.
  13. Pace & skill, yes Redleg, but not first. Its the contested footy players with vigor are what the game is based on, then after the contested culture is proudly ingrained into team ethos, add the cream into the mix. But the cream has to learn to be contested footy as well. Now is the time for our list to gain more pace & skill.
  14. Keep your money PF, don't go out and buy those jousting sticks, you'll lose ya money. I'll back Trenners to give his all, and that's good enough. We can't ask more than a player giving everything.
  15. There, right there is your problem Picket. You mind is in the past, instead of the possibilities to come.
  16. We owe each other. We owe him a decent chance to recover, based on what he sacrificed for us when we called on him. And based on his character. His footy smarts, & his work ethic to go beyond. Great clubs are based around great people. Trenners is a person you want around your club.
  17. The Hawks can take they're s from down on Wall Street.
  18. So thats why you don't wear that Kilt, dc.
  19. Raise your sights PF. Your sights are too low, & cannot see through the congestion, to 2017 - 2018.
  20. I've forgotten, what did we pay for the right to draft Jesse?
  21. Thats true as well, lately. Good to see no evil, hear no evil, until the goods are produced. * oh, do you mean onfield we don't leak, anymore. Melbouurne used to have a very bad case of incontinence, onfield.
  22. I think that's code for: we aren't a destination club, so we go the youth pathway.
  23. But we can in the AFL, have the sole right to play it on game day.
  24. Its not the picks gotten so much as the management from the start, that had the Giants in good stead. Sheedy Sheedy Sheedy. Getting minds right for competitive footy. Selection of talent of course, but again, the types of mental attitudes to contested ball etc. The suns flew too close to our red&blue print for sure, & got burned.
