  1. Saints have been building up their key position stocks over the last couple of years. They've got McCartin, Bruce, Membrey and three ruckmen that they want to play two of each week. Every saints fan i've spoken to reckons they'll be focusing on midfielders and Mathieson seems to be the name gathering the most traction from what i've heard. Reckon Gold Coast will go with Francis for two reasons. One because Francis is tipped togo in the 3-5 area. Two because after Thompson & May, Gold Coast are a little thin for KPD.
  2. Pretty confident that we'll be able to land Charlie. Carlton - Weitering Brisbane - Schache Gold Coast - Francis Essendon - Parish St kilda - Mathieson Melbourne - Curnow If St Kilda trade Pick 5 to Essendon as part of a deal for Carlisle though, Essendon may go for Curnow instead of Mathieson who i'm confident St Kilda would take. The thought of a Hogan/Curnow forward line is exciting!
  3. Is an improvement on the initial 650K he was asking.
  4. Would prefer pick 16, but fail to see how a trade of Howe & McCarthney to Freo works as a three way. Would think they'll be totally seperate trades. Think the best we could hope for would be Crozier and a 2nd round pick.
  5. Good thing we can trade future picks this year!
  6. In response to Redlegs post about Kennedy, you said: Implying because he's small, you have zero interest in him. Not making any comments regarding disposal, hardness or overal ability. To top it off you then insult Redleg when he rightly points out that there are several good small players.I know it's tough trying to keep yourself from flying off the handle when living your life as a keyboard warrior in your ivory tower. But maybe you can do us all a favour and dissappear for awhile.
  7. Couldn't get around the pay wall, but he's obviously been through a bit the poor kid! Very talented prospect. I suspect (and hope) that Gold Coast take him at Pick 3 in order to help Curnow fall to us at Pick 6.
  8. Well done to both Pig Dog & Fitz! I suspect Fitz may find an AFL home next year. Also well done to Jack Hutchins. Had a very good year I thought.
  9. Yes I have listed a few now. I'll let you know the one's I'm really interested in once trade period's done and I can take a look at the list and who's still there. Lock it in that I reckon I'll be keen on Cameron Giles the whole time!
  10. I'd expect it will be a 3 year deal, but for less money. I've said previously I think they should move him forward next year, but alternate he & Dunn depending on match ups. If we can land Charlie Curnow in the draft at Pick 6 then I think beyond 2016 Col will become just depth for his final few years, which is fine. I like Col, so although I voted for him to go, I'm happy for him to stay.
  11. Yep Toump to Port Young & Power's 3rd round pick to Aints Pick 24 to us. I'll take that!
  12. He may not be in line to run the 100m at Rio next year, but Kennedy is quick and would easily be one of the best outside options we have at the club (not that that's saying a lot to be fair). Much quicker then Nev Jetta. So by your logic unless a 20 year old kid is playing every game in the seniors dominating then he's no good? Collingwood's midfield is much deeper then ours, add to that they have Blair, Eliiott & Fasolo as small forwards, the kid has had less opportunities at senior level then he would have at Melbourne. All he can do is play well at the level he was selected to, and he's done that on a weekly basis with Collingwood's VFL side. Josh Kennedy struggled at times during his limited chances at Hawthorn also before moving to Sydney. I guess you would have been against Melbourne recruiting him then?
  13. Have you actually watched him play TT or just going off the brief write ups from SEN? Most of whcih were positive, especially at VFL level. If any trade is Kennedy for Howe, I think it's safe to assume another pick will also come our way. I think it's also fair to wait and look at our trading on a whole at the end of the period eg. what's come in for what we've shipped out. We lack run big time, and the three players we've probably been heaviest linked to are Kennedy, Melksham & Bugg, all of whom help address this issue. If at the end of trade period we've brought those three in, along with improve our draft position for the cost of say Howe, Grimes & Toumpas then it would be a win for me. But time will tell.
  14. Thanks for the service Ro. If nothing else, you always tried your guts out.
  15. Been a big wrap for this kid since he came to the club at the end of 2013. Reckon he has something about him. Will be staggered if he isn't upgraded/retained. Especially given we're bringing in someone like Melksham!
  16. Also worth noting that Kennedy was recruited at the filth the last year Jason Taylor was there. So if we are looking at him, it's fair to say Taylor should know what he's capable of.
  17. You make an excellent point. Having said that, i can see Kennedy slotting straight into a wing for us.Howe to the filth for Kennedy & their 3rd round pick?
  18. Think he can. Just needs an extended run.His best season was his debut year where he got to play 12 games. He's been in & out of tbe side a lot the last two yearsand sub a lot, so would like to think at Melbourne he could get an extended run on a wing.
  19. Kennedy's a good young player. There's a reason why he was nearly taken in the mini draft back in 2011. Just got drafted to a club with more small forward/mids then they knew what to do with.
  20. If this rumor is true i'm not actually against it. Sometimes you don't know what you had till it's gone and Col may come back a new man. Having said that he'd be starting outside our 22, so depth only.
  21. Gavin Brown couldn't kick 40 meters. I actually rate Kennedy, good young player who can break the lines and kick goals. Actually think he could be a good pick up.
  22. Any of:Kurt Tippett (getable for our 1st round pick given Sydney's need for points for Mills/Dunkley) Ben Griffiths Josh Walker Michael Apeness Mason Shaw Mitchell Harvey If we're going to recruit a 2nd key forward, we need one who can also go into the ruck when required. The above 6 can do that. Tomlinson not so.
  23. Doesn't excite me to be honest. Think there's better and just as gettable options out there.
