  1. Your idea works in theory TU, hower they'd need to plan the fixture 17 years in advance to make it fair. 22 games a year over 17 years = 374 games. 374 / 17 (number of teams to play) = 22 (11 home & 11 away). That's a long way to plan ahead. I don't mind a conference system of 6, 6, 6. North/West Conference: West Coast, Fremantle, GWS, Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast Central Conference: Adelaide, Port, Geelong, Bulldogs, Essendon, North South/East Conference: Melbourne, Collingwood, Richmond, Hawthorn, St Kilda, Carlton. Just top two of each go to a 6 team finals system like we had in 91-93. Use to only be 4 out of 12 in finals, so don't see why 6 out of 18 doesn't work.
  2. I would pay good money to see Hird interviewed by Leigh Sales. She would nail him to the wall!
  3. A question for anyone with knowledge of how CAS appeals work, if Methendon go that way. I know in Criminal matters, if you appeal a decision from the Magistrates' Court to the County Court, you run the risk of receiving a higher sentence (as rare as that happens). Does anyone know if this is the same with CAS to the Swiss Federal Court? If Methendon appeal and loose, could they end up with a longer sentence?
  4. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-01-15/dont-blame-me-for-supplements-drama-hird Typical Hird. It was Robinson & Dank's fault and it was Bomber & Maccas fault that we hired them. Don't blame me! Gee, how hard is it to say, 'Yeah I fu)ked up!' . I say it on a daily basis. If it weren't for that I don't know how I'd get through my day at work!
  5. You make some good points Macca, and i think those measures can be introduced while still looking at a two tier system. Ashley Mallett shares a similar view to myself, however is far more scathing on the Windies then myself: http://www.smh.com.au/sport/cricket/australia-v-west-indies-its-time-to-relegate-the-windies-from-top-tests-20151210-gll03b.html Crust of the article is a similar scenario to what i suggested. Difference being top tier of 7 and bottom of 6. He also suggested Canada and Scotland to be promoted with Ireland rather then Afghanistan which i found strange. Lets just hope for a better showing from today on.
  6. The way this series looks like it's going to go says to me it's time to introduce a two tiered test system. Promote Ireland & Afghanistan and have two tiers of 6 teams. You play a home & away series against each team in your tier over the course of 3 years, and after that the bottom ranked team from tier one is relegated and the top team from tier two is promoted. One sided series like what we're about to see aren't good for the game.
  7. Have agreed with nearly everything you say on this topic stuie. However on the subject of suggesting to woman not to walk alone at night is victim blaming, I don't agree with that. For me it's just common sense safety advice. I say the same thing to my wife. My parents even said it to me many a moon ago when i first started going out after i turned 18 and i'm a man. Telling someone not to walk alone at night isn't anymore victim blaming then telling someone to buckle up when they get in a car. Edit: Restructure of sentence. Didn't make sense,
  8. Have worked in the Courts for the last 12 years in areas that include Family Violence & Victims of Crime and i can tell you all that since 2003 when i first started, the numbers of family violence complaints (vast majority men as the accused) have gone through the roof! Violence in our society full stop is an issue, but violence against women is a huge issue in it's own right. Recent examples like Jill Meagher, Sarah Cafferky*, Renea Lau and Masa Vukovic show that. What Martin did was totally unacceptable. I know he didn't kill her, but clearly he felt a sense of entitlement that the filth who came across the women mentioned above also felt. For me, if Richmond want to stand for anything (AFL also) it should be a minimum 12 week suspension with a 20K donation to a womens charity, which you'll find a lot wont accept when coming from someone who's committed an act of violence against women. Found this out during my time working in diversion.
  9. Interesting that a 187cm running half back reminds you of a small 177cm crumbing forward!?!
  10. Agree re: Tahana, have decided he's the one I want today. Another super competitive player with good pace and skills, and we need another small to medium defender coming through.
  11. Only possible way I could see us backflippig on that one would be if someone took Michie before Pick 24.So essentially no.
  12. Also like the sound of Tahana & Hewett. Either of them, Parsons or Glen would be very handy.
  13. 13 to Oliver. As others have said, looks like Jordie. 27 to Weideman. Murray wore 27 at one stage for the filth. 34 to King. Good ruckman number. 38 to Hulett. Speculative number for a speculative pick. 40 reserved for our Rookie Pick.
  14. Reckon we need some outside run off half back with good kicking skills. Someone who can play tall & small. Pretty much another Mitch White. So for me the two best options are: Jack Watson (Swan Districts) - 191cm, 81kg or James Parsons (Eastern Rangers) - 189cm, 85kg Other peoples thoughts and suggestions of who we may look at?
  15. Has a club ever come out and said that they will NOT select a father/son candidate, even through the Rookie Draft and then selected said player anyway?
  16. The club said they wouldn't. I'd say that's his reasoning.
  17. Changed my vote from Parish to Oliver. Jumped on the bandwagon.
  18. Changed my vote from Other to Collins. Just a gut feeling.
  19. Maybe at Pick 6 in the Rookie Draft, but if Andre Parella is also available there, then i'd rather him. Really aggressive!
  20. We'll get a few days of speculation for our Pick 6 in the rookie draft.
  21. Given Curnow's efforts and Weideman running capacity being worse then some 12 year olds i wouldn't be suprised to see a smokey here in Ryan Burton.
  22. If he hadn't of had any alcohol then he wouldn't have spent the night in the cells. That's the result of being drunk in a public place, the two years loss of licence will be the result of failing to blow. Hope he gets an Uber App for the next 2 years to get to training and matches!
