  1. Pick 27, 45 & Dawes to Essendon for Hibberd & Pick 55. More then fair enough, probably overs but is more then reasonable in just getting it done. 2017 1st Round Pick + Wagner for Prestia. Given we'd then have Hibberd, Melksham, Hunt, Lumumba (if he recovers) and White to promote off the rookie list, we could probably afford to trade Wagner back to his home state as we'd suddenly look very strong off half back.
  2. Looking at the AEC website, my tip is each party will claim 72 seats, Xenophon 2, Greens, Katter, Wilkie & McGowan taking the rest. Means Turnbull would need to get Katter, McGowan and the Xenophon team on board to claim minority government as they'd have no chance of finding common ground with Wilkie or the Greens. Labor may have more chance as Katter is the only one you'd think they have no chance of talking around. There's every chance we could be sent back to the polls! Shocking result for Turnbull. Even if they managed to get to 75 seats themselves (unlikely) it is the most seats a first term government has lost at their next election in Australian history. Would have been even worse if Abbott were still at the helm one thinks.
  3. About time. Very low key, 8am announcement on the club website on a Friday morning.
  4. Question is which one's which? Reckon Turnbull's the doushe & Shorten the turd sandwich.
  5. Found this article re: Schedule with the swimming at least: http://www.foxsports.com.au/breaking-news/ultimate-guide-to-swimming-at-2016-rio-olympics/news-story/953c5a331c3af324763684a7a23a3021 Although it works out to be good timing for us with swimming finals starting 11am AEST, I think this just shows that the media (US in this case) have far to much power over sporting events schedules given that means the finals wont start till 10pm local time. Never mind the effect it may have on the athletes or locals/visitors making their way home after the event well past midnight through the streets of Rio. It just all comes down to the $$$ Either way i still maintain that holding the games in a city like Rio / country like Brazil was a terrible idea.
  6. http://m.theage.com.au/federal-politics/federal-election-2016/paul-keating-launches-withering-attack-on-pathetic-greens-20160625-gprqr1.html Now here's a politician who can still deliver a sledge! Slim pickings on Saturday, the extremely disapointing Turnbull and his conservative out of touch Liberals or the far from promising Shorten and his questionable/factional Labor caucus. Makes the vote in the Senate count more then ever one feels.
  7. Understand the reluctance. But fact of the matter is, if we were to potentially be looking at a trade for Hurley & Hibberd, we'll need to give up something of significance.
  8. He certainly could be. Just not in your traditional mold. He's 188/189cm and can play on talls as well as smalls. I rate him highly and can see him landing a role in a BP or HBF over the next few years.
  9. Agree re: Matty Jones, Terlich, Grimes & Newton. I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up keeping both of Dawes & Pedersen (Dawes 2 year deal, Pedersen 1) just to allow Weideman & Hulett plenty of time of physically develop before to much is expected. Pedersen's ability to play in defence also helps this as I wouldn't be at all shocked if we traded Dunn for steak knives at seasons end.
  10. It would be great if we could get Hibberd & Hurley for nothing. If we need to trade for them it will be tough going. Think we'd probably have to trade our 2017 1st Round pick, Salem & then possibly send Neal-Bullen & our 2016 2nd Round pick somewhere also to get deals done. Maybe Adelaide and involve Crouch? Potential Trade Melbourne - OUT: Salem, Neal-Bullen, 2016 2nd Round Pick & 2017 1st Round Pick. IN: Hurley, Hibberd & 2016 3rd Round Pick Essendon - OUT: Hurley, Hibberd & 2016 3rd Round Pick. IN: Salem, Crouch & 2017 1st Round Pick Adelaide - OUT: Crouch. IN: Neal-Bullen & 2016 2nd Round Pick
  11. Think they should do what they did with Jetta and move him to the back line where he could be handy. We need other good small defenders apart from Nev.
  12. We've done it again, youngest and least experienced team of the round. To be fair we played the 2nd youngest & 2nd least experienced team of the round. But still.... Other interesting notes are the fact that GWS fielded the 8th most experienced team of the round which I think would surprise most. Richmond & Freo seem to have made an effort to field younger teams and St Kilda also, however that was more by circumstance then by design. Also worth noting that 6 of the top 8 teams were in the top 8 of oldest & most experienced teams that played. Bulldogs are the only team that bucked that trend on both fronts, GWS on age only (10th oldest). AVERAGE AGE North Melbourne - 28 years flat Geelong - 26 years, 2 months West Coast - 25, 9 Essendon - 25, 9 Carlton - 25, 8 Sydney - 25, 6 Hawthorn - 25, 5 Adelaide - 25, 3 Fremantle - 25, 2 GWS - 25, 1 Richmond - 25 flat Port Adelaide - 24, 8 Gold Coast - 24, 6 St Kilda - 24, 6 Western Bulldogs - 24, 5 Brisbane - 24, 2 Collingwood - 24 flat Melbourne - 23, 5 AVERAGE GAMES EXPERIENCE North Melbourne - 155.9 Geelong - 117.1 West Coast - 114.1 Hawthorn - 111.0 Sydney - 105.9 Essendon - 101.1 Adelaide - 96.0 GWS - 95.2 Richmond - 94.9 Carlton - 91.0 Fremantle - 89.5 Gold Coast - 89.5 Port Adelaide - 87.1 Brisbane - 73.1 Western Bulldogs - 72.7 St Kilda - 72.5 Collingwood - 72.5 Melbourne - 62.3
  13. Buckley mentioned Wagner in his presser as someone who killed them with his disposal.
  14. We'll win comfortably Ethan. My lock of the week!
  15. Not against it for the righg price, as when he's injury free he's quite a talented player. Issue is, I don't see him, Hogan, Watts & Weideman all fitting into the same forward line.
  16. Agree that at some point that time comes. I'd submit however, that when you're regularly fielding the youngest and least experienced 22 in the comp, it would be unrealistic to expect that jump this year. Personally i feel we're tracking about as well as i expected. In 2014 my hope was at least 4 wins which we got. 2015 was minimum of 6, hoping for up to 8 and we got 7. This year my personal minimum mark was 9 with anything extra a bonus. I expect us to get the 9. 2017 will be all about finals.
  17. 7 or less is a fail as that says we've gone backwards. If we improve on the previous year how can it be a fail???
  18. We had one friday night game last year which we won on a cold wet night in front of a big crowd. Showed improvement through 2015 and were rewarded with 0 this year. The bummers bring the code into disrepute, finish lower then us in 2015 and all in sundries know they're 12 are going to get suspended, yet they get 2 Friday Night games this year including indoors v the reigning champs. And suprise, suprise it's a blow out and no one turns up. A please explain is surely in order!
  19. Can the commentators stop calling him f*cking poppy!!!!! Call him by his real name, just once!
  20. It's sad seeing him like this. Still have our ANZAC Day eve win on IQ from last year which turned out to be Russian's 2nd last with us. He beat Maric comfortably that night.
  21. You can do it a month in advance to allow for spectators to arrange travel etc. So at the start of the year you lock in the first 4 rounds, and at the completion of Round 1 you announce the fixture for Round 5, at the completion of Round 2 you announce Round 6 etc.
  22. No not at all, very serious episode. Will just be curious to see which number ends up be greater. The running time of SVU with the added 20min to allow for programs running over, or the margin of the match.
  23. Funnily enough last night's episode of law & order SVU that i didn't get a chance to watch.
