Looks as though the Australian Mens Rugby 7's team will likely be on at 7:30am v South Africa. This will be confirmed within the hour however pending the last couple of group results. Failing the 7:30am start time, it will be 6:00am v one of Fiji, USA or Argentina, but it's still TBC.

Hockeyroos get a much needed confidence boosting 6-1 win over India. Wont be as easy against Argentina next up for them, but they need a result there to avoid finishing 4th in their group and copping Netherlands in a quarter final.

Great win from Australia mens Rugby 7's over world number 2 South Africa which gets them into the Quarter Finals. Not sure exactly what time they play yet, or who it will be. But it will be anytime from 6am I believe. From what i can tell, they'll likely either play South Africa again or potentially Fiji.

Great win from Bawden & Clancy in their final beach volleyball pool match against their higher fancied dutch pair to win 27-25, 18-21, 16-14 which should see them get a more favorable draw for the Round of 16.

Appears as though the Rio weather has played havoc with the Rio schedule. Rowi g abandoned, so we need to wait a bit longer for another gold there. The cyclists having a tough time of things in the time trial, and it appears that Bawden & Clancy's beach volleyball ball also got brought forward an hour. Touch wood, but the girls are currently tracking ok. Lets hope they have the same success the sharks earlier today.

A talking point from today that had slipped my mind until now was the decision to withdraw Cam McEvoy from the 4 x 200m squad to rest him for the 100m Freestyle final. McEvoy's replacement Daniel Smith swam a good second plus slower then the other relay members. Having McEvoy instead could have secured a bronze or silver instead of 4th. I hope Cam wins gold in the 100m Freestyle tomorrow so the end justify the means.

Thanks for the update once again Macca. A few crucial team sport matches overnight. Our Rugby 7's team need a good result to progress to the quarter finals, the hockeyroos need to knock over Argentina to get their campaign back on track while in the beach volleyball Laird & Del Solar need to win to keep their hopes of progressing to the Round of 16 alive.

Bronze to Emma McKeon in the 200m Freestyle. Great effort by the girl after her poor swin in the final of the 100m Fly. She went out hard and held on for bronze. That's a bronze to be proud of. And also well done to Bronte Barratt swimming a PB in her final individual swim.

While are basketball teams are flying with 5 wins from 5 matches combined, our hockey teams are really struggling with only one win from 5 matches now. Kookaburra's went down 1-0 to Belgium and are now really up against it. They have Great Britain next and need a win to get some confidence back before the quarter finals. They certainly beat Brazil in their final match, but a win over decent opposition is what they really need.

Rugby 7's win 26-12 to keep their medal chances alive. Meanwhile the matildas are 2-0 up on Zimbabwe to also keep their chances of progressing to the quarter finals alive.

Australia Opals seem to have found their groove with a 89-71 victory over France. Opals had been scratchy in their fiest two matches, but from part way through tje 2nd term the Opals found some breathing space and never looked back. Penny Taylor reminding everyone why she's one of the worlds best players. Meanwhile our mens rugby 7's team are in all sorts, just ahead 14-12 at half time with Spain. Loose this and there goes any medal chance for them. Baring a miracle.

Always a bit disappointing when you fall from a gold medal position to the bronze. But a great effort either way, considering our once dominance in equestrian hasn't been there since Sydney 2000.
-
Seems the gold medal from our women's rugby 7's didn't rub off on the men who lost first up to France 14-31. As you said RM, lets hope for the same miracle in the equestrian that we are in the AFL.

They gave Adcock his marching orders. Was up there with what we did to Junior.
-
If they were ever to have a 2nd team in Qld, then they needed to make it a North Queensland and split their games between Cairns & Townsville with possibly one game a year in Mackay.
-
No medals in the pool tonight, but in better news the Australian Womens Beach Volleyball team of Clancy & Bawden won their 2nd match securing their passage to the Round of 16. Next match will just determine their positioning in that stage.

A great performance after the Kiwis had them on the back foot for the first 6 minutes. We were fortunate with the first try, but fortunately we won by a converted try and we didn't convert the first try so we'd of won anyway. Also doubt we'd of given up that final try if we didn't have the buffer we did at the time. Feel sorry for the Kiwis, in fact I always feel for the silver medalists in team events as they're always coming off a loss compared to the bronze & gold medalists. The Australian Olympic team tracking a lot better these games then 4 years ago Macca!

Boomers run out 15 point winners over Serbia 95-80 outscoring the Serbians 33-17 in the final term. Brilliant effort by the Boomers and Matthew Dellavedova in particular. Things may be a little tougher for them in their next match v The Dream Team however.

Australian Women Rugby 7's team defeat Canada 17-5 to secure a medal. Just a question now of whether it will be gold or silver? As a nation we're yet to win a silver medal at these games yet. Lets hope it stays that way a little longer! In other team sports over night the news hasn't been as good. The Hockeyroos lost their 2nd match to start the tournament 1-2 to USA which was another game they'd of expected to win. While our beach volleyball team of Laird & De Solar also had their 2nd loss from 2 games, loosing in three sets to the Swiss despite having 4 match points in the third set. Was a very good match to watch. They'll need to win their final group match now if they're to progress to the Round of 16.

Trying to figure out why i'm being forced to watch the last quarter of a greece v serbia water polo match when the australian womens beach volleyball ball team are currently playing? I have the 7 app, however 6min later it's still buffering. Pathetic coverage by channel 7, but should i be suprised?
-
Kookaburra's patchy form continues with a 0-1 loss to Spain. It probably doesn't matter as much this Olympics as in previous given they've now got a quarter final stage (use to only be semi's). But they'll want to improve their form. As world number 1, they shouldn't be worried about whoever they draw in the quarter finals.
-
Thanks Macca. Also worth noting Tuesday morning that the womens Rugby 7's play their semi final v Canada at 3:30am and depending on the result, the bronze medal match is at 7:30am or gold medal match at 8:00am.
-
Was great to see Australia claim another gold, this time in shooting overnight. Also just saw the girls take bronze in the womens 3m synchro spring board. Womens rugby 7'also won 26-0 in their quarter final v spain and will play their semi final tomorrow.
-
Australian Women Rugby 7's dodge a bullet by scoring a last minute try to salvage a 12-12 draw with USA and top their group. Quarter Final will be at 6am. Not sure who they'll be playing as yet.

I agree it hasn't been great. What makes ut worse is yhat their app is so temperamental and regularly doesn't work. For example when the Boomers match started and wasn't being shown on TV I used the app. Sadly the commentary was about 7 seconds out to the footage. Plus it wasn't even the Australian commentators. Hopefully things improve over the next two weeks.
