  1. I wouldn't be smart about it. They will get kicked out of Tullamarine, find new land and build a new facility all before we get something in the MOPT.
  2. Our players and coaches need to take responsibility to actually go out and win the game too. Our shocking record against Collingwood is probably the biggest knock on our current era.
  3. Collingwood are on the defensive because they are trying to salvage a deal which clearly benefits their members. That in itself is fine. Its the recreating of history that I strongly object to. Collingwood knows they do not have a real claim to the G, and had nothing to do with the construction of either stand (which were constructed for the '92 Cricket World Cup and '06 Commonwealth Games respectively), other than moving home games there. They cannot compete with the 160 odd years of history the Dees have with the MCC and ground. The most frustrating thing is their supporters read this stuff and believe it...
  4. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-02-25/crown-woos-victorian-afl-clubs-with-sponsorship-deals/102021564 We are yet to comment... I personally hope we reject any approach and stick with our pledge to not accept gambling sponsorship. However, I fully respect others won't agree?
  5. Stupid comment. I am not the President or CEO of the club. Yes, the process is confidential, but that doesn't mean there is anything to report. We have clearly made no progress. Pert himself admitted that and gave himself a big red mark for not achieving a strategic objective in time. The narrative we have good facilities is new. Yes, they are improving but the club has also admitted we are dead last. Also, seen your comments on "we won a premiership training at Casey...". Yes we did, but we won in a year where all clubs were displaced for parts of the year and the finals series. It was not a normal year and none of us know what would have happened if it had been.
  6. It's a pretty good side. Agree only two of McDonald, Brown and van Rooyen will play. Chandler, Jordon, Bowey and Howes will be in the mix. I don't think Hibberd, Harmes or Neal-Bullen are sure things after average seasons last year.
  7. Sydney have just moved into their new facility: https://www.afl.com.au/news/872122/historic-building-transformed-into-swans-new-training-facility
  8. The suspense is killing us. Sounds negative...
  9. Sigh. I said suspect, precisely because i am not sure. But it didn't stop you acting a fool. Yes, i think the relationship can be significantly improved and yes, there should be tangible benefits arising from it. The associate membership you mention is available to all 10 victorian clubs plus brisbane and sydney supporters. Hardly an advatage reserved for us. Look forward to skipping reading your posts in the future.
  10. Great that he is a dee, but i suspect our relationship with the mcc is as fractured as ever and not sure whether there is any point being a sporting section as it doesn't translate to a financial contribution or facilities.
  11. Seriously? Why shouldn't members be obsessed. Can you name another professional sporting organisation in the world that is not housed under roof?
  12. I like it a lot. I have a preference for bowey starting over hibberd, jvr over bb and jordon over harmes.
  13. You're right regarding potential to be redeveloped. We would need to displace the port football and cricket clubs... Not the kind of ruthless move we are capable of.
  14. That does sound like square one...
  15. Its ironic that we don't have a training ground of our own, our awesome W team makes the grand final and has to play it at...Brisbane's new training ground.

  17. I have posted this before, but will post again. My mail around mid 2021 was we expected a major redevelopment of AAMI Park for the 2023 Women's World Cup. New indoor training area, rooms, recovery area, etc. which would be handed to the MFC after the tournament. It was going to be a major announcement, hence why we were all told to wait. The eventual announcement was much more watered down - https://aamipark.com.au/news/aami-park-set-for-upgrades-ahead-of-fifa-womens-world-cup/#:~:text=In a boost for players,be finished in February 2023. I think plan A is gone and we are up the creek... The build over the carpark plan may be a spin off of the original... Like others, my hope is we will be included in the Warne Stand redevelopment. There is perhaps a small chance, given the Vic Gov are the major funder of the stand and also the funder of our working group (if it still exists?). Even if we are included in the new stand, there is still the issue of access to an oval as we will not be permitted to train on the G and walking to Gosch's Paddock where there is not even a toilet for the players is amateurish. I am afraid the reason we have not heard from the club, is there is nothing to hear...
  18. Short-term pain, long-term gain: Dogs' HQ to be transformed - https://www.afl.com.au/news/864461
  19. You can choose not to receive marketing material from the club's sponsors. Unlike deemocracy emails...
  20. I agree with many that the club did the right thing challenging the request. The club also did the right thing not favouring one member's request to send materials. No issues here. You say peter wanted a fair constitution? I choose to belive he wants to stick it to the current board. His stupid "conversation" in the flyer mentioned items that had nothing to do with the constitution (e.g. home base, defamation proceedings). He has an agenda beyond the constitution...
  21. Doggies have won an AFLW flag...
