May have been raised elsewhere, but we were back training at Junction Oval yesterday as guests of Cricket Victoria. Goes without saying, but less than ideal preparation for a finals series hopping around city venues. Nothing has changed since the old Junction days...

Hope this is true. Squeezing into MOPT was never going to work. We would have had to compromise too much.

Giving gawn a week off means his 200th will be against the swans at the scg (not hawks at the mcg)... Having said that it is the smart play. Hibberd will be close to dislodging mcvee, oliver and sparrow return for harmes and jordon.
-
Remember we were cleared of trying to lose games. We got fined for being the employer of connolley and bailey, because they discussed the benefit of losing games. Wallace just admitted doing the same thing.

Please send the cheque to gary pert, ceo, melbourne football club... The stupid thing is in round 22 2007 is richmond and carlton secured cotchin/priority pick respectively by losing. We are the ones that went out and won, effectively costing us a priority pick in 2007 and a better priority pick in 2008 (blease pick would have been natanui). It was the system, not the teams. I see no difference between the richmond coaches discussing the benefit of securing cotchin during a game than connolley/bailey discussing the benefit of securing scully and trengove during a meeting.

Our medium defenders - salem, rivers, bowey and mcvee - were brilliant as a group. Huge impact ball in hand and didn't concede goals.

We are a 43-1-16 team sice Round 1 2021, including a premiership. Anyone feel better now?

I was thinking we try brayshaw at casey?

Bloke held onto an 18 year old brad green while dean wallis punched him in the throat during the first quarter of the 2000 grand final. What else you need to know?

I think the Keith 'Bluey' Truscott tribute is great. The blue spitfire on red looks great, but agree the rest is just ok. For anyone interested, previous designs are here: http://footyjumpers.com/melbournepromo.htm

We have a shocking record recently against the swans, especially at the G. I hope this game has been circled as a must win for a while now.

Great call... Primus, murphy and rance?

I noticed doctor Laura sat next to him all night and was talking a lot. I think she was in counseling mode. Trying to support him best she could.

I wouldn't be smart about it. They will get kicked out of Tullamarine, find new land and build a new facility all before we get something in the MOPT.

Rival clubs fume at Collingwood’s hold on MCG seats

Our players and coaches need to take responsibility to actually go out and win the game too. Our shocking record against Collingwood is probably the biggest knock on our current era. -

Collingwood are on the defensive because they are trying to salvage a deal which clearly benefits their members. That in itself is fine. Its the recreating of history that I strongly object to. Collingwood knows they do not have a real claim to the G, and had nothing to do with the construction of either stand (which were constructed for the '92 Cricket World Cup and '06 Commonwealth Games respectively), other than moving home games there. They cannot compete with the 160 odd years of history the Dees have with the MCC and ground. The most frustrating thing is their supporters read this stuff and believe it... -

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-02-25/crown-woos-victorian-afl-clubs-with-sponsorship-deals/102021564 We are yet to comment... I personally hope we reject any approach and stick with our pledge to not accept gambling sponsorship. However, I fully respect others won't agree?

MFC Annual General Meeting tonight 20/2/2023 at 6:30pm

Stupid comment. I am not the President or CEO of the club. Yes, the process is confidential, but that doesn't mean there is anything to report. We have clearly made no progress. Pert himself admitted that and gave himself a big red mark for not achieving a strategic objective in time. The narrative we have good facilities is new. Yes, they are improving but the club has also admitted we are dead last. Also, seen your comments on "we won a premiership training at Casey...". Yes we did, but we won in a year where all clubs were displaced for parts of the year and the finals series. It was not a normal year and none of us know what would have happened if it had been. -

Its clear we have made zero ground. Same update we have got last few years. -
It's a pretty good side. Agree only two of McDonald, Brown and van Rooyen will play. Chandler, Jordon, Bowey and Howes will be in the mix. I don't think Hibberd, Harmes or Neal-Bullen are sure things after average seasons last year.

The suspense is killing us. Sounds negative...

Sigh. I said suspect, precisely because i am not sure. But it didn't stop you acting a fool. Yes, i think the relationship can be significantly improved and yes, there should be tangible benefits arising from it. The associate membership you mention is available to all 10 victorian clubs plus brisbane and sydney supporters. Hardly an advatage reserved for us. Look forward to skipping reading your posts in the future.

Great that he is a dee, but i suspect our relationship with the mcc is as fractured as ever and not sure whether there is any point being a sporting section as it doesn't translate to a financial contribution or facilities.
