  1. Anyone know if the AGM will be a similar zoom set up?
  2. Maybe a rush of hayfever or something? Seemed fine later on.
  3. He lost it. I hope we haven't cooked him mentally.
  4. If Jones plays 300 games, its because he has been gifted games not because he earned it.
  5. Which clubs? Bartlett didn't name any.
  6. This is sure to be the number one issue at the member forum on Thursday.
  7. Even if we got it we'd still be sharing with VIS and training on Gosch's like Collingwood did in 2010. Remember it took some shady [censored] from eddie to get VIS relocated to south melbourne and replace olympic park with an oval.
  8. Collingwood don't own Olympic Park Oval. The oval is managed by the MOPT. Their deal just gives them access. I note the MFC players are were informally training on it today. Why can't we have offices, gym, etc. at the 'G with shared access to Olympic Park Oval / Goshs' Paddock Oval with Collingwood. Maybe Gosh's could be upgraded to Marvel size as part of this. My understanding is space in the G freed up with Cricket Victoria relocating to Junction Oval. Eddie won't like it, but Eddie can [censored] off. Upgraded facilities at the G could then be incorporated into the Southern Stand upgrade? I know lots say its a pipe dream, but reestablishing us at the G (with access to nearby MOPT managed ovals) would be my preference. The MCG became the mecca it is of the back of football including the MFC, and there is an inequality that exists with no formal recognition of this.
  9. I like the idea of being in the precinct, but anything less than an MCG size oval is too big a compromise. I also think the building needs street frontage on Olympic Boulevard so that people can access the shop, etc. The current proposal of being tucked in the south-west corner of Goschs' Paddock is not ideal. But then again, it is MFC, nothing is ideal.
  10. I do think it will happen, it just won't be any good.
  11. I think you are referencing Bartlett on a rival to Demonland podcast. I was instantly disappointed when he said it. We are already compromising before we start.
  12. So its obvious its going to be gosch's paddock. Is the hold which area can we build on?
  13. Perkins and maccrae would be a great outcome.
  14. Out of my best 22. Very poor form. Very poor discipline. Not sure where the leadership was?
  15. Anyone tracking our NGA prospects Kobi George and Deakyn Smith? Are we expecting bids to match or to otherwise draft? (I know difficult given they probably haven't played this year). For the record, hoping Toby Bedford (former NGA prospect) gets another year to develop if not already contracted for 2021.
  16. One good year end then drops his bundle? That is not the Melbourne way ?
  17. Maybe Phillips' contract is just worth too much to make him a viable option? From memory Langdon was coming out of contract when we targeted him...
  18. IF everyone is in form (and it is a big IF): FB: Lever, May, Hibberd HB: Salem, Tomlinson, Rivers C : Harmes, Viney, Langdon HF: Fritsch, Petty, Pickett FF: Melksham, Weideman, Jackson FOLL: Gawn, Petracca, Oliver INT: Hore, Brayshaw, Sparrow, Hannan We are desperate for an elite outside midfielder, elite small forward and elite small defender.
  19. Just for fun, this is what a team of 200 game players looks like: FB: B.Lovett, T.Johnson, S.Smith HB: S.Febery, G.Hardeman, D.Williams C : R.Flower, T.Viney, B.Dixon HF: A.Yze, J.Mueller, G.Lyon FF: R.Robertson, D.Neitz, N.Smith FOLL: J.Stynes, R.Barassi, P.Beams INT: N.Jones, J.McDonald, S.Alves, G.Wells EMG: B.Green, J.White, C.Bruce
  20. This is the link to the Melbourne list: https://afltables.com/afl/stats/alltime/melbourne.html You can navigate back to the main menu to find the same list for the other clubs. P.S. "AFL Tables" is my favourite website.
  21. Thousands of AFL players over the years have shown promise but can't sustain it. It's a fact of life. It's not a knock on those players, but only the top echelon can do it year after year. I think we forget that. Tmac (170 games over 10 years), Jetta (153 games over 12 years), Harmes (104 games over 7 years), Neal-Bullen (77 games over 6 years) and Hunt (71 games over 7 years) have probably done well to contribute as much as they have over the years. Notwithstanding, they are the precise players that need to be turned over in the next 1-2 years. Are Salem, Brayshaw and Lever future 200 game players? Odds are against them. Of the 1,350 odd players that have pulled on a Melbourne jumper since 1987, only 25 have played 200 games or more.
  22. Me too. When he said he was disappointed it sounded very disingenuous. Maybe max thought they played ok given the circumstances. Hopefully not...
  23. Riccardi this week, but hopefully stays in the side for the rest of the year and gets one.
  24. Agree, but will never happen. At the end of the day Eddie and Sam are just a couple racist morons.
