  1. Agree. I think Gawn is a massive chance to get the AA captain as well which means starting surely.
  2. So if the team is announced on Thursday when does the squad get released?
  3. I really thought he was a chance to be sub this week. Not even being in the squad suggests it is probably 302 and out for Jones. Agree with others, a big win against the Tigers in his 300th was not a bad way to go out really. Better than a lot of others in more recent times...
  4. Our mids are set for this year, but starting next year I think Bailey Laurie is the missing ingredient. Much needed skill and pace and can take a wing allowing Brayshaw back into the guts. Like a few others I am sick of watching our mids hand the ball back to the opposition - Viney and Harmes being the worst offenders. C: Langdon, Oliver, Laurie FOLL: Gawn, Petracca, Brayshaw INT: Sparrow, Jordon
  5. That's a big yes on football and admin. The whole club will be under one roof.
  6. I think Pert has mentioned a few times that it will be the Victorian Government's announcement and they will decide the timing, not us. I was hopeful today would be the day, but obviously not. Like others have suggested, there is no point announcing the oval upgrade unless it is part of a bigger plan. My mail is AAMI park will be upgraded/extended (in an east direction, over the carpark towards Gosh's Paddock) and this upgrade will accommodate our new rooms, gym, etc. Hope we hear it from the Government soon.
  7. Marvel size unfortunately...
  8. Gonna beat the buzzer here. AAMI Park is being extended to accommodate the womens football world cup in 2023. Once that is over, a portion of the upgraded facility will be handed to us along with the bigger oval. Should result in our own gym, rooms, etc.
  9. If they are planning to use him as a sub then they can't say "rested"?
  10. ...to lose by 11 goals again.
  11. The club is being very tricky by fooling everyone that mcdonald won't start forward and baker won't start on the wing...
  12. Team to be announced in a few hours. We can select up to 26 players.
  13. I know it was your point and I agree with you! The Daisy / Karen example is the precise scenario Bartlett and Pert should have considered before agreeing to speak. Just thinking how this issue could have been avoided if we had a proper home base with a proper social club so that supporter groups can host their functions at the club... presuming the MFC plans to let female members into the social club of course.
  14. Meaning they should know better. We are trying to recover from an 18m drop off in football revenue off the back of COVID. If this decision, costs us even one female member (which it will), than that is too many.
  15. Spot on. The AGM comments about listening to female feedback were atrocious and this adds weight to the notion our board and executive are insulated from rank and file members. Yes it is the coterie, and yes they represent the elite of our supporter group, but we are a club that cannot attract young people and young families and this is just another reason why.
  16. If the announcement was imminent, surely he would have said so? And Olympic Park has already been developed by Collingwood so where are we training exactly? Did you mean redevelopment of Goschs Paddock?
  17. I am sorry, but GB is a hopeless speaker for a President.
  18. Love it. Good to see Neita there too. Perhaps Neale's choice of favourite football person to share the honour with?
  19. But where does it show up in the financials which are required to be transparent? If there is a benefit it shouldn't be a secret.
  20. I have looked through the report and could not find a reference to the MCC? In last year's report the club thanked the MCC for its support, but nothing this year. Does anyone know what being an official MCC sporting section means? It doesn't seem to mean anything from a financial perspective. Our MCG tenancy deal doesn't seem to be more favourable than Collingwood, etc. If being a 'sporting section' is just ceremonial than what is the point?
  21. I agree he is a good influence. Could even be a part time development coach like Lewis, but unless we think a 30 year old is going to play there really is no need for him to occupy a rookie spot which could go to an 18 year old with no ceiling (surely there is some else out there taylor likes).
  22. I think the club said a back up ruckman is not a priority with tmac staying on? I think the oddest decision of the off-season so far is retaining mitch brown. I like the bloke and would have kept him if tmac left, but he is very unlikely to play with ben brown arriving and hopefully petty back to full fitness.
  23. Anyone know if the AGM will be a similar zoom set up?
