Why on Earth would we trade Watts for a minor pick upgrade? I'd give them a fringe player for that sort of deal, but not our best ball-user. They can have JKH or Stretch for a four pick upgrade. Who the hell if Griffin Logue?

The Demons have been given the South-Eastern corridor covering Dandenong and Casey as their Multicultural Academy zone. Does anyone know if they're doing anything to develop kids in the area? There's a huge migrant population in Dandenong that could be tapped into for some big athletic lads.

I really want to see Hogan, Weed and Pedo as the tall forwards and Watts roaming on the wing. I think we'd get the best out of him in that sort of role. He'd have the freedom to drift down into defence or create attacking opportunities through HF. It's also a role that doesn't rely as much on him taking contested marks, which is a clear weakness in his game.

HOges looks like he's halfway out the door and on his way back to the West. You can see it in the way he avoids his teammates.

It was a great game. I'm thrilled Richmond didn't win, and given that Port were on the verge of folding at the start of the year it's an amazing effort by them. Can someone tell me again why Ayers isn't coaching an AFL side?

Why would we want Rory Thompson? Watts gave him a football lesson not all that long ago. The guy's just not very good.

I didn't mind Viv. He was solid. Not really AFL standard, but he played within his limitations, did his job and mostly avoided turning it over. At the time that put him ahead of most of our list.

That would be a truly crap deal for us. Trade Watts for a four spot upgrade? Hell no. Maybe Watts plus our second round pick for their first pick. That could be a little closer to even. Personally, I'd like to see Watts play a full season on the wing. I think he'd be great value for us. We're so desperate for someone who can deliver the ball properly for our forwards.

It's not, but give him a two year deal and spend year one rebuilding his body the way we want it. He might come good.

In all honesty, I wouldn't mind him as a Rookie. They say he's going to be a great ruck coach for starters. He'd be great to help bring on the two youngsters, he'd dominate for Casey and if needed he could step in and ruck for the seniors. There are worse ideas.

So we give up three first round picks for two KPPs? A bit steep I think.

I like this for the club as a whole, but I hope he doesn't come to regret sticking around for one last year like some have in the past. He's starting to slow down and struggles to impact games. He's going to find himself on the fringes unless he has a hell of a pre-season.

And like Harmes, is a dangerous forward option. Use him as a small forward rather than a mid and his turnovers are less of an issue.
