I'm hoping for a really good game. I think Sydney will win, but I really don't care that much.

I do find it interesting that he hasn't been cut yet. Is that because they think he has trade value or are they considering offering him one more year to see if he can get his act together?

I think it's an excellent thing that he's speaking to a number of clubs like this. It gives us some semblance of bargaining power. If we can get a bit of a bidding war going between the Hawks, Cats and Pies then we stand a shot of getting a decent return, although not what we've spent on him by any stretch. As someone mentioned a few pages back, the absolute best would be if he were to name several clubs he would be happy to go to and let us deal as we see fit.

That's a slightly worse deal than the one we did for Tyson. Still not a terrible result. I'm loving the rumours folks. Keep 'em coming.

Like one top forward taking up booze, quitting the club and going to jail, another top forward suffering a succession of random injuries, quitting the club then declaring that he wants to play elsewhere, a potential top forward missing the entire season with a random and unforeseeable back injury, our top of the line FB deciding he wants to play at a more successful club, two top 20 draft picks suffering badly broken legs and never pushing on and two top 5 draft picks suffering season-ending injuries and having no impact yet? And that on top of the little things from previous years such as multiple senior players from the leadership group packing their bags and walking out o the club, our No. 1 pick being poached under the poorly written start-up club rules (against the wishes of the AFL, incidentally), a revered club figure dying and being fined $500,000 for not being found guilty of tanking. I think we've had plenty of things impact multiple players which were entirely out of the clubs control. It's just a matter of overcoming the ridiculous bias that Eddie and Co. have managed to stir up and convince them to look at the facts instead of the spin.

Also plays very angry. I think you'll see him suspended a fair few times in his career. I would love to have someone like that on the park for us.

Which of the players today would you want us to make a play for given the absurd depth of mids the doggies have? It was suggested to me by a dogs fan that Honeychurch would be the best of the bunch to chase. Thoughts?

I got an interesting snippet today. I was watching the VFL final with a mate from the doggies camp and he tells me they are very seriously into young Frost. Makes me wonder how close we are to getting that deal done. Also mentioned that the Saints were into Liam Jones in a pretty big way. That could be a bit of a disaster for us re. Petracca.

I want Fitz for at least another two years. I still think he can play, it's just going to be a matter of time and a little more bulk which will come with age.

The fact is that if the move is something that Mitch has initiated then it shows a spectacular lack of integrity and character on his part. He may be within his rights to do so legally (and I hope there are questions being asked at the club about the revised contract we gave him), but ethically he's in the wrong in every way. He's basically forfeiting his Man Card and behaving like a self-centred child.

I don't know about his personality, but I loved his highlight package from the u18s and Roos has repeatedly said he wants a quality rebounding HB. We could always try to get Rohan out of Sydney, but I somehow doubt he's on the table.

I threw that up in the Blease thread. Geelong have shown a bit of interest and I'd much prefer Smedts to Hunt. We'd have to give more than Blease to get him, but I think worth it.
