  1. Time on ground is very important and this years results is a good example as you point out. . But over a 5 year window he had 2 good years. The Bluey is an interesting indicator because the coaches know what the player is tasked with, what they are capable of and how they have performed against that benchmark. Its the closest proxy we have. And while we fall in love with 'our' players, the reality is that they come and go. The players themselves have a greater bond with each other than the club generally. They sweat blood together The club has a greater duty to protect the overall team and evolve it into a better unit. Its why we let players go like Watts and Sylvia. So I get the discussion around Harmes. Not saying its right or wrong but they would be derelict in their duty not to look at the 'fringe' players It all seems moot now as he is staying but I imagine every year they divide the list into 'untouchables', 'maybes', 'definitely get rid of' based on a range of variables.
  2. He has been badly handled Understand why he would want to go somewhere he will be loved.
  3. Great highlights reel. Will long remember his final few minutes against Carlton. Outstanding. Sad to see him go. Two of our fastest players gone - Hunt and Bedford with Baker likely gone as well. We need to inject some pace pronto.
  4. Harmes' Finishes in the Bluey 16th in 2022 19th in 2021 not in top 20 2020 4th in 2019 3rd in 2018 17th in 2017 19th in 2016 Interesting to see how the club rates him and certainly the last 3 years he has underwhelmed (for whatever reason) When we look to the club to improve the list they have to make decisions around players like this. As much as most of us like Harmes he has points of frustration with his game. His best is clearly very good. But too often we see average performances. No we don't know what roles the coaches have him playing but the finishes in the Bluey are pretty telling for mine. And when all is said and done I follow the club first and the players second, We want success and so log as Harmes has been dealt with fairly and with respect then they must do what they have to do to improve the side.
  5. What were their kicking skills like?
  6. The same Angus that just signed a 6 year deal?
  7. Pick 3. Almost Toumpas like...
  8. Levers CV was nowhere as good as Jackson
  9. You clearly didn't watch the Carlton game
  10. Are we still using the Richmond doctor?
  11. Max does get sharked a lot by the opposition. For the quality of our midfield we don't the maximum advantage IMO
  12. That game our defence was a shambles. They had no Buddy, we had no May, Petty went off injured about 4 times, even Mitch Brown ended up in defence. Hunt got caught goalside one on one with Papley a couple of times and was beaten - but not many would win those. He should never have been the last line - that was the problem. While he played some good lockdown roles teams try to isolate him (like they do Lever who also isn't great one on one). Our team defence was to blame in my view. It failed just as it did many times this year,
  13. No Weid in top 10
  14. Are you sure? That would have been a potential fire trap if gates were locked. Have never seen it before at the G
  15. "Everyone has a plan.....until they get punched in the face" Mike Tyson
  16. Players getting injected to pass fitness tests...
  17. err we beat them 3 times
  18. I read someone here saying that the irony for us is that Geelong have become Melbourne (2021) and we have become Geelong (2021) Geelong 2021 was boring, stale, predictable and safe. So they recruited well, changed their game plan, became more bold and daring and voila Premiership favourites. Its exactly what we need to do and Grundy doesn't add to that at all.
  19. Goodwin is saying "we can fit him into our game plan" This is a disaster in the making. Would rather Weid/TMac as second ruck and find some good deliverers i50 to help Spargo AND a Key Fwd
  20. Care factor -ve
  21. A lot of allegations here are presented as fact. Clearly horrendous if half true but knowing quite a lot of AFL footballers over the years and their journeys at football clubs I am struggling to understand how it could possibly happen. We'd all like to see the outcomes of a proper investigation before rushing to judgement but needless to say if the allegations have any truth at all to them heads and careers should roll big time.
  22. Fair enough. Sorry about being rude. But you did make a bold assertion that was untrue.
  23. You made a bold assertion that is simply not true. Go back to your Tarot cards and make up more stuff
  24. Max was injured for the second half of the year. Kinda debunks your theory.
  25. The club is sure that TMac will be right for next year. The Grundy deal is a given apparently
