Training Ground?
Perhaps - when they want something. Totally different for an elite sporting club (male) that is seeking grants from 3 levels of government and a major sporting body.

TRAINING: Wednesday 8th February 2023
I like the goal kicking drill - running in a straight line, About time!

Training Ground?
It sounds like you have never dealt with Government before. There are three levels of government that would be involved plus planning and environmental departments of each. Its herding cats cubed and an unenviable task. And just when you think you may have it nailed, governments change or decision makers change etc.

Are you Tim Flannery?

Pre-season Intensity
Schache is heading into his 8th year of footy. I think it would be hard to see a dramatic improvement in his known form. He is an upgrade on Weideman but would need to show significant improvement to be considered best 22 if all were fit.

TRAINING: Wednesday 1st February 2023
I had some involvement with all of this some time back. Essendon refused to join the Telstra deal and ran their website as a standalone. Among other things they used it to pay Hird, Lloyd, Mercuri and others outside the salary cap for 'marketing expenses' Not sure if the deal still stands. Actually just looking at their website it says copyright AFL and telstra so I am guessing that deal is over.

Pre-season Intensity
He most likely will but that shouldnt preclude him from playing elsewhere. Thommo was recruited as a winger. How did that work out? Brayshaw came 3rd in the Brownlow as a mid. Pickett will likely spend good time in the midfield. Flexibility & unpredictability will or should be the mantra this year.

Essendon used to run their own site for years. Not sure if they still do but they had a separate deal.

Pre-season Intensity
Maybe Hunter can play half fwd? Just because he has been a wingman doesn't mean he will stay one.

2023 Pass Mark
And if we are out in straight sets again you think thats a pass? Not for me.

2023 Pass Mark
2 out of the next 3 GFs Our list is primed, we know what it takes. Injuries are a factor but even though we bottled it second half last year we were the leading defence and ahead in every game, Key for me is how the coaching staff adapt to competitors ripping our game apart. Flexibility and unpredictability will go a long way to us succeeding

Alan Richardson on 3AW: What is Fueling Dees Fire in 2023
The players were fitter than they had ever been according to club stats. Last year was not a fitness issue The problem stems from them working really hard in pre-season to perform at home. They basically didn't have a break over the summer and never switched off. They were super keen and worked extremely hard over the summer. But they totally cooked mentally half way through the year. Hence the allusion to 'work vs footy balance' in Jan / Feb

Adam Tomlinson Wedding
Is happening today down on the Mornington Peninsula for those that are interested. Lots of players in attendance I'm told. Good luck to Adam and his lovely bride

The Calendar Curse
Has anyone ever thought that the club is showing the out of contract player some love and trying to subtly increase pressure on them to stay? Seems obvious to me

Farewell Kye Turner
Just because a player comes into the squad as a defender doesn't mean he will stay there. TMac is a good example. Most junior players have to learn defence when they get to the AFL. Like Bowey. Often KPPs are in the fwd line in juniors and have to learn defence. You don't want 21 Daniel Turners but plenty of players end up in different spots to where they started.

Farewell Kye Turner
Can't have enough. And with May over 30 we will need a replacement soon enough. And some of them can be moved fwd

TRAINING: Friday 16th December 2022
Hawkins is umpired differently to other players, as was Selwood, Goodes, Dangerfield and the whole of the Western Bulldogs FC Its beyond a joke that WBFC continually receive lopsided free kick counts. Statistical outlier. Just like Selwood and his high tackles that they tried to change the rule over.

TRAINING: Friday 16th December 2022
I think they will be copying Geelong with Blicavs and Stanley where Max takes the ruck and heads to CHB while Grundy rucks around the ground - his mobility is very good.

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
Of course it CAN be done if the player has the mental strength and will to do it. Some like Watts never had the desire, some like Weid wanted to but couldn't get there. I still maintain that hardness at the contest and a fierce desire to win contests is rarely taught. It's innate mostly.
