Bombers in 93, Hawks 2008 and the Pies in 2010 are the 3 youngest (average) sides in the past 20 years to win flags. It's doable and we should stop mollycoddling our young group. They need to learn how to play with INTENSITY every week. Nothing less is acceptable. Results will follow.

So why can't we operate a zone defence?? When oppn teams kick in it annoys the hell out of me that our man standing the mark is 10-15m away. Why can't he be 5m like the laws allow. Indeed why not have 2 guys 5m from the corners of the goal sq to stop the chip and kick?? Other teams have a 2, 4, 5, 5 formation a couple of runners at the back ready to stop the kick over the top and charge. Why can't we do it? Either we are told not to do it or we are lazy because it takes a huge effort to arrange our players in formation and run to position. I'm not advocating we copy Collingwood directly but what we are doing does not seem to be working. At various stages we need to be able to shut down teams by pressing right up the ground and at other times we need to vary it. I don't see much of that. At least as much as I'd like.

I'll take lots of game time for Blease, Tapscott, Howe and all the other rookies with...... ,,,,,,NO INJURIES...

Will be interesting after two years whether their young players will be bailing out of GC17 and GWS. And whether we will be raising that as an issue.

1. Our midfield (Partic. Jones and Beemer) are our weakest link. 2. Our ability to make sound decisions coming out of defence is abysmal 3. Our delivery into the forward line is poor 4. Our tackling was woeful last night. They appeared to break tackles or get their ams free at will. 5. Warnock is an average stay at home gorilla defender. The running game has passed him.

JOnes needs to learn: 1. He can't break tackles 2. When trying to kick goals frm 60m he should look at the two or three Dee players leading towards him. And kick it to them.

This has been our biggest problem for some time. Beemer and Jones try hard but lack class.

Poor arguments. Which club plays 40 Sunday games in 3 years and little or no Friday night games, which club doesn't have a stadium deal, blah blah blah.

Reported on Demonology that Chris Connolly at a function last night reported he had spoken to Tom and his Manager and they state they have not had one conversation with GWS. Good enough for me. Can we please close this thread now?? 1296 posts is enough isn't it??

You might be right and I certainly don't know but my gut feel is this - I have seen enough of these teenagers who think they own the world, are savvy with technology, who don't think through the ramifications of their actions or who couldn't give a flying fig about the rest of the world. It's all about them. Think Lindsay Lohan, think Paris Hilton, think Brittany. It's all about celebrity. They don't care how you get your 15mins or what you do to get it so long as you get it. It's clear her parents have 'disowned her' so that maybe tells you something about her past behaviours and lack of respect etc. The fact she stated she was out to get revenge and has done it magnificently shows you her intelligence. And just because some of us adults think it is sad, deranged, distasteful etc it's still only possible because of the breathtaking stupidity of some of the adults in this saga.

I understand where you are coming from and I agree mostly. But Norf supporters (and their coach) have continually bleated about their lack of attention when compared with us. The last time they beat us their coach blagged on about how their list was better than ours etc so I understand why our supporters have heard enough from them. And they were offered $100m from the AFL to relocate. They would have played 10-11 games in Melbourne anyway but chose not to. We were offered $6m to merge with the Dorks. Actually now I really think about it I couldn't care less about them.
