ADC is Gawn. I never liked him anyway. Who said he was a gun? He never showed nothing while he was here. Overrated. We are better off without him,
-
What debate? It's mindless speculation. Rev ya self up again ADC!

JAck Watts start to dominate a couple of games.
-
Oh, I forgot 1023 posts in this thread Jack Watts eat your heart out....
-
Actually the expression was from their advertisements well before 1966.

It has been canvassed that Sheedy could be behind this but has anyone considered that Scully's management put the rumour out to get Tom's value up?? Nothing is what it seems when it comes to player managers and footy contracts. Believe nothing til it's inked and announced. The rest is PURE speculation and you'll do your head in if you worry about it.

Liked your post but the difference between $100k and $400k and the diff between $500k and $800k is mathematically speaking zero.
-
Wow. This thread is almost as big as the 'will Jack Watts make it' threads of the past two years!
-
So Genius, if he has gone what would you plan to do about it?? You can get het up over it but I know one thing for certain. Nothing you do will change the outcome one bit. So feel free to fret and 'come to terms' with whatever it is that is going to happen. IN fact you can do it on behalf of all of us. Just don't worry about posting about it

Err, Strauss has had two reconstructions? I don't think so. You aren't confusing him with Andrew Strauss are you??

The great thing about a young side is they don't know how far they can go. See Hawks 2008, Bombers 1993 etc. Even Geelong in 2006 was in self destruct mode until their end of season navel gazing. We are on the right track. Its not a straight line and they could just as easily surprise us on the upside as well as the downside. But when players see their peers get All Australian like Frawley and Jamar and they can see first hand the efforts required to get there then the competitive juices can elevate the entire team to a higher level of commitment and effort. Even having the reigning premiers training in the next oval can be a good thing - last year we were not overawed playing them and nearly did them twice. I can imagine all our players looking across the oval saying "if those guys can win a flag we certainly can". One of the great benefits of our new training facilities. Momentum is a great thing - I guess though we want to build it over the season rather than start like a shooting star and fade out. DB and CC have their heads screwed on well and they will not allow this team to get ahead of themselves. That I really like. They are level headed and rational. Its our job as supporters to support them on the journey.

You mean Luke..............................................................................................Tapscott? Nup, was rested.

The article also said Kleiman was Fevola's manager - OMG we are in trouble!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
If they are hoping the fans will back their footy department they are in real trouble. It's dysfunctional and they have an abysmal track record. Admittedly they have got rid of Miller and Terry Wallet but the bitterness remains strong....

$100m and they've already spent six on Israel Folau!! This will be a bottomless pit. And having lived in Sydney and going to a lot of Swans matches and having spent time out West they will struggle off the field. I have no doubt they will change rules and allocate money to ensure GWS gets a roster of decent players - eventually. But it has none of the allure, culture or history of the Gold Coast nor the stack of Melbourne ex-pats or AFL supporters (eg Southport etc). So recruiting is going to be much harder. And the players they recruit will have to be capable of being marquee type players - I'm not sure Melbourne has had one since Garry Lyon or Robert FLower. They don't grow on trees. SO it's a big ask. I don't think Scully is anywhere near that yet nor capable in the short term of being the lynchpin of a team.

Already he has surpassed Miller.
-
Grimes barracked for the Dees growing up - he ain't going anywhere.

Actually I couldn't disagree more with this comment. It's a reason why governments of Europe (Germany and England at least) are denouncing multiculturalism - because of it's about tiptoeing around what might 'offend' people. No more Christmas lest we offend the Jews, Muslims and athiests. If offending people was the definition of racism then virtually every comment would offend someone somewhere. Racism IMO is more about actual discrimination on the basis of race rather than some kind of stereotype comment. Somewhere the two streams of thought have morphed. Saying someone is a 'Paki' is not racist. Saying someone is a 'curry muncher' is not racist - it's the UK national dish after all. We have all become way to sensitive over this crud. The land of the falafel is a poor attempt at humour ( as well as incorrect in geographical terms) but it's not racist.

Geez that's harsh. Tilbrook cost us a fortune and was supposed to be a superstar. Tapscott's a kid.
