If Roos was coaching last year it would be unlikely that we would have seen Toump given his desire to make 1st year players earn their spot etc So we have seen a bit of Toump and it is totally unfair to judge him on one year's performance. He's 19yo.

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
jnrmac replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
Add to that the bummers believe they were 'coerced' into self-reporting and that is what has got them into this mess. They are delusional. The ACC had nothing and the bummers think they haven't taken anything illegal. They are holding on to the fact ASADA gave them an a'all-clear' for AOD9604 Hence they are angry at Vlad for 'forcing' them to fess up. -
WGAF We have Toump. Port have Wines. Get behind our boy. Simple. Do you blokes drive looking into your rear view mirror?
-
Oh OK. I don't think we necessarily need to win the pre-season games but momentum can simply be we are refining our game plan and players are getting used to each other, the running patterns, kick ins etc. Previous years we have been diabolical in these areas during the pre season AND we have gotten thumped most of the time. Also when we have been behind we haven't been able to stem the flow of goals (this definitely carried through to the main season) So yes it will be hard to win pre-season games but I can't imagine the teams above will be full strength. And having played finals they should in theory be behind us in terms of fitness - maybe now I am just wishful thinking.....
-
For us its all about pre-season momentum The teams that have had poor years cannot afford to limp to the start of the year. Think Port last year, Ess in 2011. It didn't help Bris last year winning the pre-season comp but we have not had any momentum pre-season for years. Our record early on shows how that has affected us. This year needs to change

Yep. Very few ppl can claim punting losses. The bar is set very high with regard to proof (see Brajkovich v FCT) Few ppl can claim to be commercial horse breeders and again the bar is set very high.
-
Highly likely AFL will produce their own content. Media outlets to bid for packages. Punters to subscribe to a live stream. Will produce a revenue of an estimated $3bn compared to last media rights deal.

Bump. My moan over the past few years is that we never start with any momentum. We dont train as a team together playing football but as a bunch of guys getting fit and with three weeks to go they get a footy in their hands. We have poor pre-seasons, with no structure, game plan or any semblance of what our team will look like on the field. It seems to me that there is a lot more footy based training this year with simulations, drills, running patterns, kicking to position and contesting the ball. Then after that training is done they players work on their running. the players appear to be enjoying it a lot more. It seems more purpose based and they are practising their skills when they are fresh rather than dog tired. They are getting more match practice simulation than ever before. I know Roos is notorious for playing doggo during the pre-season but I get the feeling we will be much better prepared this year than previously. Geez we would want to be....

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>

Have been thinking about the Hird situation. The only possible explanation in my view is that he knows he will go down when WADA have finished their job. He is goingdown swinging and wants to take AD and the AFL down with him. He is an ego out of control and this town aint big enough for two of em!! -

I have been banging on about this from day 1. Where TF are Worksafe Victoria in all of this????? If I was injecting my staff with illegal substances I would be thrown in jail. Full stop. Why are the AFL sacred cows?? If worksafe came to my workplace and I told then 'we are doing an internal investigation, nothing to see here' I would be laughed out of the office. They would throw the book at me. They should come down hard on these delusional morons. -

Once infraction notices are issued it will be every man for themselves. Then it will really get nasty. Every person involved will get their own legal representation and you will see all sorts of recriminations and protests. he said, she said, This thing will explode. Can't wait. -

Appreciate the connection but it doesn't mean her arguments are not right. Feel free to attack her arguments, Oh and sometimes in the closeted, cosy and incestuous world that is AFL it takes an outsider to really look at something and tell it like it is. Just sayin.. -
Not sure that it is his vision and courage. Its a commission initiative that he was in charge of implementing. And I don't think the implementation has gone particularly well. Especially laying the groundwork in falafel land for support of AFL. Its negligible. And the recruiting strategy of GWS completely blindsided the AFL and has meant a difficult challenge to garner support while they wallow on the bottom with a team full of unrecognisable names and 100pt thrashings.

Really like. -
And now it turns out Ess received $8.4 million in discretionary distributions in the 2012-13 financial year – around $700,000 a month. The AFL are threatening to withdraw money. Yet ppl in football land whine about the dees getting $1.4m???? Boy there are some inequities and misconceptions about the level of support some clubs get Oh what a tangled web,,,,

That would be me. And I'd be happy to see him go.

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/afl-boss-andrew-demetriou-must-resign-or-be-sacked-following-essendon-saga/story-fnii5qqe-1226777144104 Bump. The mud gets thicker and stickier. Dimwit has failed on so many fronts. Jug ears who has no shame nor a moral compass is gunning for him and now the media smell blood. The Wylie involvement is a massive breach of integrity. Must go and soon.

Anyone that knows a small amount about betting knows you can't get set on most races for a few grand. The dollars that are being bandied about in this saga make it so implausible that I have little regard for people that lost money it. It is no different to Bernie Madoff. Greed and trusting 'mates' who vouch for the scheme.

he looks like the latter. Had the family shipped off to Singapore a month or so back, things were getting a bit hot....

Are you sure its the Melbourne Demons in the list?? -
Just now? Has it only just dawned on you that Stevo and Robbo and the other essendon car-carrying loving scumbags at the HS are deep in this?

If you are taking on the biggest dog in the yard you had better have a big stick. The Bummers are fighting a dirty game. EIther they have some explosive information or they are deluded. Or possibly both. The revenge game is pretty messy though and as the Chinese say, if you are seeking revenge, best you dig two graves.... Hird and Dimwit.... hmmm come to think of it....nice ring about it

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BERNIE VINCE

Sylvia was pick 3 Vince 32 Perceptions are shaped by this. Vince has been more consistent, has better stats and has stood up when it counted in big games. Reputations are shaped by this.
