  1. That ain't fitness. Its mental. Desire and intent.
  2. You mean Lumumba and Dawes types?
  3. And we were supposed to be playing like 'maniacs' according to Roos after the Dogs game......
  4. And Garland opted out of the leadership group.... Most likely cos he's OOC and makes it easier to leave.
  5. Thats a [censored] copout. You are starting to sound like Roos. There are 8 players left from 2009's list of 48 players: Grimes Jones Bail Jetta Jamar Garland Dunn Watts Oooh they are mentally scarred. FMD we are the ones mentally scarred from this bunch of hacks.
  6. Yep. The coach hasn't got a clue what to do with this mob. In case you hadn't noticed its round 21 and he has been coaching them for 45 games. Oh, and they were coming out this week to p[lay like maniacs. 2 tackles in the 1st 20 mins? And Roos will take them off to the zoo this week to keep their mind off football. Next week it will be Luna Park.
  7. He's not worth a cold pie.
  8. Agreed. Although the last 3 weeks it has been rinse , wash and repeat. Same shiite different opposition.
  9. We had 2 tackles n the first 20 mins of this game after the coach said he wanted the team to play like maniacs. 5 tackles in the first quarter. Our past 3 weeks have seen our first quarters: Carlton 38 to us 8pts North 46 to us 12pts Dogs 51 to 2pts That is 135pts to 22pts in the first quarters. This 3 weeks is as bad as we have been in the past 8 years. The players are useless and are killing the club. I am sick of Roos [censored] footing around with guys like Lumumba, Dawes and Garland. Statements need to be made. But Ross will probably tell them not to worry about the loss and will likely take them to the movies instead. I make a prediction now that Round 23 against GWS will be the lowest crowd attendance in the clubs history. Who would want to watch these pea hearts.
  10. He is the problem if he doesn't what to do to fix this mess which is what he has all but admitted..
  11. Agree 100% with the bolded part. But I am sick of waiting for it to turn as you are. There are plenty here with blinkers on when it has been obvious for at least 4months that Roos doesn't know what to do with this mob. Our best performance for the year was when the players coached themselves for a week. What does that say about the coaching? He's given them a week off after a belting, taken them to the movies. I mean FFS its not a complicated game. You bring effort and focus on running and winning contested ball for a start, then you hit targets. There are probably 5 players on our list that can safely beat their man on any given day, leadership is non existent. Garland and Lumumba are frankly pathetic footballers that shouldn't be there. McDonald is a goer but whne he has the ball in hand is a worry. Dunn has lost his ability to win a one on one. Midfield is appalling. Viney tries hard but makes way too many basic errors. Vince got thrashed against a first year player. We are robbing peter to pay Paul Jones is courageous but unable to drag his players with him. Cross is done. Way too many mistakes. Watts just infuriates me the way he plays 5-10m off his man. Morton used to the same thing. You can see the play unfold and lay money on his man geting the ball. Gawn can't ruck by himself all day and is not flexible enough. Kruezer beat him handsomely. Howe should just fark off now. Most overated player on our list (by outsiders not necessarily melbourne supporters) Dawes has to go. Adds zero to the team. Garlett plays when he wants to. Brayshaw was looking pretty spent,. Needs a rest Grimes Mitchie and newton are triers but not the answer. And none of these useless hacks can play a team game. They don't look out for each other shepherd, don't spread, can't read the play. Hopeless. The coach is clueless as to how to fix this. Good luck trying to atract a decent midfielder to our team this year paul.
  12. Yeah you're right. He didn't get much of a chance to add to his 10 disposals against the dogs and his 7 disposals against North. But hey, the ball wasn't down in our fwd line much in those two games.........oh, hang on a minute..... He goes well with Garland's 7, 13 and 9 disposals the last 3 weeks. These are our senior leaders and key defenders. No wonder were stuffed. The can't defend and they cant get the ball. Not sure why either of them are there really..
  13. Oh that's not fair, he was injured in the pre-season you know.....oh wait that was last year....
  14. Don't worry its been cancelled due to lack of interest...
  15. Oh but you are so wrong. We have demonstrably improved according to some delusional people on here........
  16. Lumumba subbed off just before half time with 1 HB to his name. Gee, the ball mustn't have been in our back half much.......
  17. Gee the Roos apologists have gone into hiding..... But hey we aren't allowed to question the messiah. Because nobody else could do a better job. The consultant doesn't have the answers, therefore no-one has the answers. There are people in this thread that are pretty delusional. Of the newbie coaches, Richardson has done a better job. Beveridge has done a better job, Simpson has done a better job, Hinkley has done a better job. I am scared that Goodwin has already taken over match day coaching,. Then we are in deeper do dos than I think we are....
  18. Garland's last 3 weeks have been 7 disposals, 13 disposals and 9 disposals. After being smashed in the first quarter for the last 3 weeks running you all need to face the fact he is a dud who can't win his own ball. He can't lead the defence as he should with his age and experience. He's not the only one down back but we are better off without him.
  19. We need star mids big time. I can't remember the last star mid we had. Maybe greg Wells. I am talking the Judd, Ablett, pendlebury that can handle a tag and still perform week in week out and dominate.
  20. Its not a complete waste of time and I have never said we should not have paid Roos the money. What I have said if you bothered to read the posts (which you are normally pretty good at) is that we are right to be asking questions about Roos. A senior coach who has trouble getting his players up for game day. Then he comes up with lame excuses like ' the players must think they are already in Bali' or 'gee, we weren't expecting that'. Frankly it pizzes me off that a senior well respected and well paid coach doesn't articulate what he thinks is wrong or worse still articulates that he doesn't know what is causing our pathetic lapses. There are plenty of Roos lapdogs here and it seems you aren't allowed to question the great messiah.
  21. He never does that. Ignore him. He is happy to take pot shots with pathetic snide comments like some superior being. Doesn't address any points. Most boring poster on Land and that is saying something.
  22. Thats a pretty smart arse reply. If you have anything worthwhile to say it would be best to address the points raised. From that I assume you're happy to pizz $1.5m against the wall for a coach that doesn't seem to know what to do?
  23. Looks like one of our better ones....
  24. Titus O'Reilly sums it up perfectly: "Roos says Demon players are mentally on their end-of-season trip. If only we paid someone millions of dollars to keep them focused" There is the nub of why many of us are questioning Roos. There are questions about game day coaching, selection table anomalies and his early references to 'them' rather than 'us', the mental scarring of players etc etc smacks of a consultant mentality. All care but no responsibility. The inability of a well respected senior coach to get his team up for match days and then dismiss it in some kind of off-handed 'gee they weren't switched on were they?' is enexcusable IMO. I would challenge anyone to name another coach in the AFL that would says such a thing.. Its what infuriates a bunch of us. Well if you can't get them up for a game WTF are you doing there? Effort is single non-negotiable thing that the players must bring every week. Yet our efforts, while on average improving, still have the same appalling lapses every second week. Constant excuses from this club are now simply pathetic. No wonder we are a laughing stock. Thank God for Carlton...
