  1. Probably need to get over yourself first....
  2. Breaking News: Company acts in its commercial interests. Stop the presses. Burnside is a horrible human being.
  3. It wasn't. Simple. Which but don't you get? Watts was a bust after 9 yrs and 150 games. He was a disruptive influence both on his own behaviour (rehab, team rules, training habits, after-hours habits and putting his head over the ball/appetite for a contest) and from a media and supporter scrutiny point of view. Elite skills, yes. Elite habits, no. The team could not rely on JW. He was best gone.
  4. Not all from 2008 but I still laugh (well maybe laugh isn't the right word) that Port have our 1, 2 and 4 pick....
  5. Fair point. It was a class goal and plenty of others would have fluffed it. No one doubts Watts has class skills.
  6. I agree. I don't want to waste another 9 years on the next great white hope.
  7. Best return from Jack in a real game? 4 goals You'd be the kind of person still waiting for Col Sylvia to have a good pre-season.....
  8. FFS Jack was told on many occasions what was expected of him. He failed to adhere to the standards of training, playing and rehab that the club wanted. He drop himself for one game you will recall. Unheard of. He was also dropped after he had played 150 games. Where else does that happen to a player in the prime of his career? If you have players that won't play the way the club/coach want you to don't act surprised when they are booted out. You can never say the club didn't try to get the best out of Jack. Get over it move on.
  9. Todd has some personal non-negotiables about player habits and work ethic. He wasn't enamoured with Stef Martin a few years back. Watts would have frustrated the daylights out of Viney.
  10. It's no mystery. The club didn't want Watts. They took what they could. Don't beat yourself up. Players come and go all the time. We have 5 players playing from rd 1 2014 in our best 22.. It is nobody's fault other than Watts.
  11. I guess if there is a difference in the way that parties were treated they could sue to recover lost wages, fines, reputation etc?
  12. It's all coming from Hird as I understand it.......
  13. Fishing expedition to see what evidence they can find of the AFL / ASADA conspiring to do a deal over the EFC.
  14. Correct on point 1. The bitterness stems from the deal which was agreed between EFC, AFL and Fed Govt and for which they received a draft letter from Gillard. This was rescinded or not proceeded with when Hird heard about the Cronulla deal and wanted similar. Hird was then 'thrown under a bus' according to himself and has been eternally bitter.
  15. No Vlad called David Evans because he had ample evidence and tip offs about what they were doing.
  16. Not at all this is a simple foi request. You ask for the broadest possible info to see what turns up. It's a fishing expedition. If anything they will try to relate that to how the EFC were treated.
  17. F*** The MFCSS is alive and well.
  18. He was a partner/shareholder but I understand when he left he sold out of his shareholding.
  19. I can't for the life of me entertain the notion of James "drug cheat" Hird coming to our club. He was the architect of the program. The membership will go nuts. And besides there is no evidence he is any good. My mail is that he was very much disliked at his previous employer and they were very happy to see him gone.
  20. No. It just wasn't. Ethan is on the money. The stock market didn't technically crash. It did fall but well and truly after debt markets blew up. Your simplistic statement that the GFC was caused by share prices not being supported by profits is pure nonsense. Sorry.
  21. err no it was't. Not even close. Back to school for you....
  22. And we chose Jurrah as a rookie ahead of Rockliff who we had 'promised' a spot to...... Man, we stuffed up some recruiting......
