I remember Clarkson a few years ago when the Hawks were 100 pts up against Melbourne and in the last quarter he played a spare man in defence. I said at the time thinking Clarkson was mean and wanted to inflict a 100 pt loss on Melbourne but a few weeks alter I was chatting to a Hawks Board member who told me that Clarkson uses such occasions to experiment with game plans and style. Like practice a 'last 2mins of the game drill with scores level' type of thing. It made total sense not to waste such an occasion. Even in a lop sided win you can be practising different tactics . I really liked that idea and think Melbourne should try to get control of the game but use it to refine or rehearse certain strategies. Our forward line hasn't yet dominated a side and we definitely need to frefine our skills in this area.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KYSAIAH KROPINYERI PICKETT

This is rubbish. Kozzie was slated to go in the mid-20s. Clubs were surprised we went so early for him -
But he's now playing forward. And not particularly well.

Dee-Fence wins flags from Fox Footy The tale of the tape.....Melbourne's 2 year turnraround to get its defence right The ability to stop oppositions scoring once they enter their fwd 50 is an historic low by a long margin..

You do know that it was the highest crowd for the AFL this year don't you? In fact it was the highest crowd for a sporting event anywhere in the world. Todays ANZAC day game is now higher. And at nearly $200 for a family of 5 plus transport/parking and/or something to eat and drink you are wondering why more don't go to the footy? I can't help you.

I reckon this goes a bit unoticed but he always tries to hurt by going in with the knees or a flying elbow etc. pre-meditated carelessness.

Amazing night at the footy. A real test that we not only passed with flying colors but we gave back better than we got. Even from some of our younger players. Their sniping and clips to the head is a disgrace but we held firm and didn't take a backward step. I have to comment on Umpire 22 who is the worst in the comp. He made at least 12 blunders and in particular during the first 15m of the first qtr. That we were able to remained focus and hard at the ball gives the team a huge amount of belief. Well done to all. Enjoy the ride. We're going places.
