  1. Does anyone know how he is going with his recovery? and can someone tell me if the break was serious as I never found out the bone he actually broke in the leg. I just get worried that if it was too bad he might have problems in getting back ala nathan brown and goose macguire. Really keen to see how he goes next year.
  2. morabito will be a perfect replacement for headland at freo, no interest with him at 2.
  3. Is it just me or does Marabito remind anyone of a Damien Cupido? seems to have a fair bit of lair, skills are not that great, appears very confident in his own self and on several occassions had the downhill skis on and was unwilling to move the other way when WA did not have the ball. Scully is the standout!, the only thing I could fault is his footskills but in saying that they are good rather than very good so there is not much to be concerned with. Pick 2 is going to be very difficult, Trengrove has lovely skills but did not seem to do enough, Lucas looked fairly good for WA. Maybe lets trade it for Patty Ryder?
  4. we have too many in and unders! jmac, mclean, maloney, jones that is way too many. what we need is some speed and quality ball movement. You can really only take 1 or at most 2 in an unders and you need the speed to compliment, good example is the bombers, they have watson who feeds it out to the quality quicks. Hopefully strauss can be one of these types.
  5. totally agree that we have to break the lines by quickly playing on and keep the ball moving. Our forward line has been coming unstuck by slow ball movement which allows teams to flood giving them zero space. Possession game is good but when you are not moving the ball forward quickly then teams will come unstuck by kicking to a 1 on 3 contest
  6. how exciting is it going to have watts and scully around the club, scully seems fanatical about his footy in the buckley mould. It might be doom and gloom now but we are going to have some good times with these two.
  7. OUT Whelan, PJ, Pettard IN Jamar, Hughes, Newton
  8. scully and panos for me, panos has been brilliant during this carnival and a big game on wednesday and he will go past butcher as best KPF,.
  9. This is the only time we can dictate our destiny in terms of draft picks, I hate saying it but this is one game in which we must lose. I would love to go into the draft with pick 1 & 2 it allows us the fantastic position in which we can pick 2 brilliant players without being compromised by having a team that should be middle table (west coast) taking pick 2 from us when they do not deserve it. Yes the difference between having 1&2 and 1&3 does not sound much but it could be the difference in getting a butcher.
  10. What the hell is going on with our lack of clearances from stoppages and centre bounces lately, it is really embarrasing. The lions just got it away from the centre so easily. Seeing we were getting smashed I would have thought they would go man on man. Either Bailey has no idea how to nulify the other teams stoppages or the players are not listening. Either way it does not say much for Bailey.
  11. This topic is dealing with whether we want a key forward or a mid. Hawkins and Mooney represent the key forwards for geelong. From how I see it Johnson is not a key forward but more of an opportunist hf flanker.
  12. this whole plan is garbage, it is based purely on TV money they believe they want to increase the TV audience of AFL and they are going to do that by putting a team in West Sydney. West Sydney is going to be a bottomless fund of wasted money. If they thought getting people from sydney to watch AFL was hard then they better be braced for something much harder. League and soccer are entrenched in Western Sydney, there is little growth in AFL out there despite what reports say. The AFL should ensure the survival of clubs that make this game great (Melbourne) rather than some team no one cares about. Further, no one is going to want to play there, at least with the gold coast there are some players that originally lived there. West Sydney are going to be the competition whipping boys for many many years.
  13. two mids, have a look at geelong you would not say mooney and hawkins are stars but there midfield ensures that they look respectable
  14. garland will come into consideration down forward, if they are all fit and firing we may have an excess of tall backs, the guy has talent and think he could be a very good forward given the chance.
  15. very intresting in the tigers v eagles game last week, 3/4 time and game is potentially up for grabs and cox is on the bench for the first ten minutes, they are clearly tanking! I hate to say it but WE HAVE TO LOSE!
  16. What has gone wrong with Cale Morton, he was flying not long ago and he has seemed to have stalled. He shirked a couple of contests on friday night most notably a marking contest (which the commentators made reference to) I think it was either the second or third quarter. I don't think he is a "shirker" but more he is lacking in confidence. Maybe a spell in the 2's?
  17. think maric should have stayed in for batram but we still need a tagger in the side. hopefully warnock and jamar will be back soon
  18. Good raps on this Panos kid, If west tank eagles get pick 2 and pick up butcher, panos might come into consideration for pick 3 as he is a key forward.
  19. nik nat will be another jarred brennan flashes of brilliance but will not do it for long enough in a game to have a huge influence. Just remember he is not one that ever racks up many disposals in a game.
  20. the person who said this was very high up in the north football chain, so if it is not true then it is a sad justification as to why they were not intrested in him or it could be potentially people spreading bad things about him to throw a few clubs off. Anyway you look at it it serves them right for not getting him.
  21. north were not interested in him after he trained with them, that is a fact. They were concerned about his dedication to the game for instance all he wanted to eat was pasties and was not intrested in having a proper diet, he was late to training one of the days he was there, they were not willing to take the punt. It seems like, with Aaron Davey, the kangas have taken the extremely conservative route which will backfire again.
  22. I have said this before but if west coast don't win 5 they get priority as well, therefore there is a big big chance we will get 1 & 3 which might eliminate us from getting butcher or scully. I can't see west coast winning many, they have put the cue in the rack for this season.
  23. at a function last night I went to, Josh Mahoney says they want Stef to learn to be a pinch hitter up forward, he states that he will learn the craft of being a forward back at casey. Personally I would like him to be a backman as he showed some talent down there, but they know best.
  24. silly dropping martin, he is going to be a good defender, leave him there! although he has not played well of late miller should be in the side as he gives us a good structure, he will also be good to help out wattsy in his first game.
  25. west coast are going to be a problem not winning two more games, might be melbourne pick 1& 3
