  1. Couldn't disagree more. At worst he would be 3rd category. He has youth on his side. and had kicked 12 goals in 6 games which is not too bad for a 21yr old. I think we are looking definitely borderline 2 and 3
  2. I have it on good authority that Petterd is off to the Gold Coast next season. Now, the AFL has just released information that clubs will be compensated in the following manner: Elite Player: 2 first round draft picks 2nd Category: 1st round draft pick 3rd Category: Selection at the end of round 1 4th Category: Round 2 Selection 5th Category: Round 3 Selection The question is, what category does Petterd fall into? The thing is, Petterd hasn't been able to show his full worth due to injury. But I would love it if he managed to slip into the 2nd Category although I think that to be honest, he is probably more a category 3 player given he has been injured all year. Thoughts?
  3. Well, we are a bottom 4 team at the moment and I hate to say it but his form from last year makes him an automatic inclusion regardless of form.
  4. The fact that you said Watts lost all of your credibility. He got 3 possessions against Carlton and it had nothing to do with any Carlton player
  5. FB: Garland Warnock Strauss HB: Grimes Frawley Morton C: Sylvia Trengove Blease HF: Davey Watts Tapscott FF: Green Jurrah Wonaeamirri Foll: Jamar, Moloney, Scully Int: Jones, Jetta, Gysberts, Bate Main points: -Green and Davey to be mainly inside 50m players - Tapscott will make it as will Blease. Their foot skills pushing out the likes of Gysberts and Bennell in terms of talent at the M.F.C. -I put Watts in there. I think he will make a '40 goal per year' CHF. Not great, but considering what he has showed thus far, I'll take it. -Bate's turning circle and fumble fingers below his knees are his main concerns at this point. Fringe player.
  6. Morton will never be a key position. He doesn't have the body type to build up like Goddard did. To play key position, he would need close to 20kg of pure muscle onto his frame. not possible for his frame.

I'm one of very few that would have actually preferred to keep mclean. i still would. Mclean is currently playing through a bit of an injury. We know he isn't at his best, but at the end of the day, his disposals and leadership will always be better than Gysberts.
  8. is this definitely on TV ABC tomorrow on free to air? I cant find it anywhere on the tv guide
  9. Completely disagree. We lost arguably our 2 best forwards (Petterd and jurrah) for the whole season :S
  10. Of all the times I've seen Frawley at AFl level or at Casey level I never had doubts over him. Other may have but I never did. A KPP is a dud if they don't want the footy. He doesn't demand it unlike Riewoldt did since day 1. My expectations of Watts may be too high, but at the same time 95% of posters on this site need to expect more. We need to stop giving him praise for pulling off basic football skills like hitting a target to a leading player or kicking a goal from directly in front. (And yes, the one he got today was from a free kick that definitely wasn't there).
  11. 'There was no constant criticsm of his early performances simply because he wasn't the number one pick!!!' I must reply to this. There is criticism because he: (a) Doesn't play like he wants the footy (B) He falls over far too easily (Morton even keeps his feet better) © He is too hesitant despite his inexperience and (d) He doesn't chase enough. (A) is the biggest problem. We shouldn't lower our expectations entirely. The fact that people applaud him just because he hit 1 or 2 targets is a joke. When you play in an AFL game, there is no excuse for missing a target unless you are under pressure.
  12. Once again Rhino, no elaboration. Look at James kelly, did his broken leg hurt Geelongs chances of winning a flag? No. As long as Blease is good to go by 2013, it will be fine. P.s. Get an opinion of your own for once
  13. Against the bulldogs we played some great footy in the wet as well as in the 3rd quarter against the Blues. The reason why we play so well in the wet is because we stick to the basic principle of kicking it long! Now firstly, I understand that people will say that 'there is no point in kicking it long if there is no options there'. In response to that, I say 'well there is no point kicking it short when there is no viable option there'. Kicking it short when you're not sure is suicidal and we do this too often. The fact that we have played well in the wet and kicked it long on most occasions is proof that this basic principle should be applied; whether wet or dry. I would go as far to say that half of the goals we concede are due to us turning it over after kicking it 25m or less to a 50/50 contest. Frawley and Moloney have high football IQ in this regard and its a big reason why fans love them.
  14. we've got the biggest injury list in the afl. No Lj and Petterd as previously mentioned changes the whole dynamics of the team. Not to mention some bad game-day coaching by Bailey especially against West Coast when he didn't play Frawley on Kennedy.
  15. I still don't understand why martin isn't being played in defence. i've always thought he did really really well down in defence. I'd take him over Garland any day of the week.
  16. Who cares how long blease is out for. We only need Blease to be fit in 2 or 3 years time when we are in our premiership window. Between now and then i don't really care how many games he misses. He needed to bulk up anyway.
  17. THat's what everyone said about Bate in his first year and people are still on is back about his kicking. It is cause for concern. The fact that they are inside midfielders is no excuse. Lenny Hayes and Sam Mitchell are both beautiful kicks. Gysberts will have to fix it at some point.
  18. why not? it is a clearly flawed kicking style but the good thing is that if he is an inside player he won't need to kick as much as an outside reciever. There is a reason why James Strauss is one of the most exciting talents on our list, foot skills. He has them. At the moment we only really have Davey as our man that we can trust the ball with. in time, I think James will be this person. unlike anyone else
  19. i would actually prefer either Dave Mckay or Richard Douglas. Both are elite users of the ball.
  20. Is Dunn a key position tall? No Is Bate? I think not. The only reason why Watts is believed to be a Key position is because he is 196cm. Truth be told, he plays like a Forward flank for a VFL reserves team.
  21. good idea.
  22. He is a forward and hasn't been given sufficient opportunity to show his worth. Even when he was given the opportunity he still did pretty well in my opinion. Dunn forward is the most obvious thing in my opinion and he is slowly being coached out of his career.
  23. Geez, it's like beating my head against a wall. Dunn should have been playing forward for the last 3 years!
  24. He must work on his footskills but can definitely find the pill
