Simple question really. We finished 12th but with GOld Coast coming in and taking most of the top 10, what will we get? Around pick 11?
-
Well I guess Miller should have been delisted a few years ago. If Melbourne had of listened to me we would have actually got something back for him (when he had a bit of currency)a few years ago, before others realised he was a hack. Oh well.

I'm sick of the 'he's still skinny' excuse. You're not going to become brave just because you put on a few kilo's. Petterd and Frawley never went through this '[censored] stage' and they were skinny when first drafted. Lynden Dunn has never taken a backward step despite being skinny. Danny Hughes too, despite only playing the 1 game never takes a backward step. He is slim. Bartram too in his first year. I think Watts will be a good player but being courageous will not be one of his assets. I would suggest a Riewoldt without the courage is his potential.

i love guys like taylor walker but getting big names to change clubs isn't easy. i mean our last big name was moloney and he wasn't that big at the time.

gorringe and lycett won't be on our rader. A) they will most likely be takeb before us and B) we don't need another ruckman! THey are ruckman not key position forwards. I don't really like jack darlings foot skills but his 1%'s and hardness at the ball and man is something we really lack and he has aggression (and size too) in spades. He will turn into a Frawley-esque man mountain.

Yeh, I hate it when people yell out 'balllllllllllll' at the footy. Players are allowed to drop the ball and pretty much do anything and it won't be called holding the ball unless its clear prior opportunity. Easy
-
Slightly biased there Nath. At the moment Watts is a big man with a boys body that is starting to find more of the footy. He is a guy that has good foot skills but he just needs to work on his attack on the ball. Admittedly, I was getting a bit worried about Jacks ability to actually find the footy. I felt like Bailey should have moved him up the ground just to get his confidence up. Finally Bailey listened to me (against Essendon) and is improving since then

Dunn dropped? Now I've heard it all. I would drop Johnson. Yes, he did well..but I believe it was at the expense of Jamar playing well. OUT: johnson, bail (simply because no-one else is drop-able) IN: Trengove, Mcdonald *I don't think Bennell should be dropped. He kicked 2 and in a low scoring game thats fine by me

Bruce - 4 costly frees
-
Half glad we lost as sick as that sounds. We have to learn that you can't dish out a half like that and expect to win. Melbourne's first half would have lost to a A grade VAFA team.
-
Watts another free kick against
-
is it just me but I can pretty much tell within the first 2 minutes whether we are going to win or not. We either come to play or not and the first couple of minutes seems to show that.
-
just fricken chip it around and get an idea of what the ball feels like. im so fed up with this [censored]. Its basic football iq that no-one has. Dont give away stupid/unnecessary free kicks in danger areas. Bailey owes it to Melbourne members to blast the [censored] out of this playing group at quarter time. insipid

jack watts, pathetic woman
-
Need to learn to take responsibility and man the fark up. Bloody joke
-
We need to kick straight.
-
im so sick of pathetic starts. down by 2 goals in in the first 3 minutes. FFS!!

Rough stats on Tapscott thus far?

http://bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=728769 Here are some videos of some 2010 draftees. i'm a firm believer of the best available (for a clubs first pick in any draft) and regardless of hype or draft needs I like the look of josh Caddy and Matthew Watson. Who do you like?
-
Bonaddio is massive.195cm and 112kg. i would totally have him in the goal square
-
I don't want any more skinny blokes on our list please. We need muscle and bulk
-
gold coast guards (as in life guards)
-
i thought it was only 1 uncontracted player from each list. And Gysberts is contracted for next season so I don't get it.

Have you not read this thread? The post above you says the exact words about being gone He will be with us for the next 5+ years so yeh. Can't fathom why some people have short fuses with players. I still remember when everyone was saying how Mclean was so much better than Sylvia and that the only reason we picked up sylvia at 3 and not at 5 is purely because there was more demand for Sylvia. The Mclean> Sylvia threads were on for a while there. Still can't believe people that have hinted that Rivers was lucky to get another contract. When push comes to shove, I would have him as our second best defender(outside Frawley). People should be worried more about players like Morton. Where will his improvement come from? His disposal hasn't improved and he is still skinny as a rake. He is too weak for Key position, too indecisive and clanger prone for the backline and terrible in the 50/50 ball for the midfield. I'm thinking it will have to be half-back if anything, to use his run and handball.

hey guys, speaking about the umpires. Yes, they were terrible today. The umpire never warned any of the essendon players to come back. Anyway, regarding the rules. When the ball is around the packs and there are about 20 players waiting for the ball to pop out is there any rule preventing a player from running straight through an opponent that is simply standing still about 5metres (or less) from the ball. Because, he is 5m from the ball right? Also, what rule is it prevents a player from sinking their knees into someone on the ground? If it's not high or a knee in the back, then why can't players just slide in and sink their knees into the other guys stomach/ribs? I've always wondered what the umpire would signal because it's not high, it's not holding, and it's not in the back? COuld someone answer this for me
