CHANGES: Rd 12 vs Brisbane
Brown unfortunately is just horribly out of form. The VFL on pause doesn't help much, but an 'in form' Brown, in about 2 months time, would be a greate outcome

CHANGES: Rd 12 vs Brisbane
2 clutch goals

Good win?
There's no question now, every player has fully bought into their role. And, the coach has grown into his.

GAMEDAY: Rd 11 vs Western Bulldogs
Agree Deemania. 3+ goals from the Weed and we'll get over the line tonight. Goose egg and we're likely toast
-
CHANGES: Rd 11 vs North Melbourne
Only ANB and Fritsch had very minimal impact out of the playing group last night for mine.
-
CHANGES: Rd 09 vs Port Adelaide
Logic being, Fritsch hasn't hit the scoreboard when he's had his chances and plays close to goal. I feel T Mac is more likely to impact the scoreboard with the added support of Weid and Jackson

CHANGES: Rd 09 vs Port Adelaide
Out Fritsch, Jetta In T McDonald, Rivers Harmes and Brayshaw can lift, enough grunt and to turn the corner and we don't want to make too many changes. Lean on the depth as/when needed.

POSTGAME: Rd 08 vs Brisbane
Agree, he looked wobbly walking down the race to the rooms. I reckon i saw him lean on the wall for a brief moment to steady himself. That was after the knee to the head, i was surprised he came back on after that, doubly so after the shoulder/elbow (from McStay?) sometime later. Has struggled this year Jet but could be forgiven the stinker in this one following those hits. Agree. Harmes was fumbly all night. Looked out of sorts. Likewise Hannan. He's been pretty clean with his hands this yeay but not last night. 2 strengths i saw from Brisbane though that looked more polished than the other teams we have played so far: 1. They are very slick moving the ball with speed through the middle of the ground by hand or foot. Often have a release man to hit and they fumbled far less than us 2. They were right on our hammers defensively at all times. We did well to move the ball offensively a number of times considering how little space we had to work. The definitely controlled the clearances by ensuring they quickly enveloped the first to possess the ball

POSTGAME: Rd 08 vs Brisbane
Gerard Healy loves us, gives us a good rub every time.
-
Joel Smith
? Frost MK2 except at a 3rd of the cost and a 3rd of the chaotic defensive desperation

TEAMS: Rd 05 vs Richmond
From Egan seconds practice match review: "After being left out of Melbourne’s best 22, Harley Bennell made the most of his opportunities against the Cats, booting four of his side's seven goals." Clearly not chasing or tackling, etc. but I'd have thought someone who might be some chance of either hitting the scoreboard or helping someone else to would be worth a shot? Only Brown worth a look out of that mob.

Buckenara: Dees List Overrated
Clearly guessing on many of those. Harmes & Melksham definitely Bs. Jones no longer a B-. KK shown nothing. C+ very harsh on Lever. Jack Viney B- at most. Oliver B+ for mine (not quite A)

List changes who do we cut, trade or go after.
Does anyone else think it's odd that we've not been linked to / visibly shown interest in Zak Jones? Firstly for obvious reasons, secondly because he has genuine pace (unlike big bro) and plays somewhat unsociably...

Salary cap means what?
Opportunistic. Dusty's signature probably isn't worth $25 if not plastered to premiership memorabilia and certainly wouldn't sell as many volumes if just a regular poster / jumper. Demand dictates price. As for salary cap, another grey area for sure, but...if it were a Dees premiership no doubt there would be a similar play with Gawny (just not as voluminous).

Somebody wants Frosty...
-
Josh Mahoney in the Media
Losing Frost doesn't overly concern me Losing Frost's leg speed from a team that seems to have absolutely none, worries me greatly
-
Jack Watts - let’s get him back
I am ok with it but I'd be stunned if Goody undid that statement

List changes who do we cut, trade or go after.
Clarrie is very good, but not A grade. Doesn't hit the scoreboard near enough and this year very few of his possessions lead to a scoring chain (could be said of everyone I know). Not in the class of Martin, Sidebottom, Danger, Fyfe, Neale, Cripps, Bont, etc. They are genuine A graders. Not yet at least.

Finals Week 1
nope, that's just a thing ?

What gives you hope for next season?
Good post DS. You've missed Hore who deserves a spot on the HBF and probably Hibberd (maybe depth). Salem is not a defender for mine. They need to find another spot for him or is lack of accountability / capability to defender in the air and on the run will sink him and us. Agree Lockhart will find a spot and am hopeful for Baker (but not confident). Doubtful on Chandler but hope to be wrong, ditto Dunkley. Joel Smith, if he remains and get's fit has some real X factor and can add pace and courage at both ends. Also, I'm hopeful that Sparrow and Jordon show enough to be at least semi-regulars too. Footy department would be confident of this I'm sure. The value of that confidence is to be proven.

Petracca on the Move?
Burgess will be the making or breaking of several players next year. They will either meet his expectations and be much better footballers for it or not be able to cut the mustard. We will see the really committed, driven, personally motivated players rise to the top. If Trac is up for it he'll be a top 10 in the league player

Adem Yze - Assistant Coach?
Richo and Pert go way back, so while a decent appointment not necessarily Mahoney's doing...
-
Dan Butler
1.2 goals per game as a small forward is hardly terrible. Worth a look.
-
What should our midfield set-up be next season?
Agree on this as well. If Trac can lift his endurance he'll be a weapon in the middle. Nearly impossible to tackle, upper body strength to get his arms free and kicks like a mule.
-
What should our midfield set-up be next season?
Agree. Viney's focus should be shutdown. Did a good job on Cunnington in the last round and there are other examples. He doesn't have tricks, period. Forward or mid he's not overly creative, quick or accurate with his disposal. What he is good at though is nudging, niggling and crunching tackles. Lost a yard of pace and a little strength this year though, hopefully that comes back. I prefer Jones on a HFF if desperate. At least he's a chance to kick a goal when in and around the 50
