  1. Unless drastic changes are made, 2025 will be more of the same I fear.
  2. Still trying to figure out how Laurie got an extension.
  3. There’s our problem right there
  4. Unless he is hit lace out he is useless.
  5. There’s no denying his ability, but imagine him in our forward line 😩. It would come out even faster than it does now. Rachele = 0 forward pressure.
  6. They’re all culpable imo.
  7. Here’s hoping it’s because they actually have something in the works, as opposed to the many before them who produced nothing. We the members are going to need to see real progress soon, or the board needs to fall on their sword (though I don’t want this Lawrence fella stepping in, as he has his own agenda too it seems).
  8. I’m not Roffey’s biggest fan……..far from it (the fact we are no closer to finding a new home base is farcical, imo), however, I’m grateful she is not a noisy president that needs to give her 2c on all things football. Actions speak louder than words, unfortunately for Roffey & the board, there seem to be no actions to speak of.
  9. Happy with that if we gets the same results (only not to back up after 5 days again)
  10. Retired as a premiership player (rare), an MFC premiership player at that (even rarer)
  11. Would love to know how Geelong could legitimately satisfy us in a deal for Clarry. There’s simply no way they could appease us.

Just goes to show how precious and fleeting life is, he woke up this morning and now never will again. The finality of it is just so sudden, heartbreaking and hard to comprehend.
  13. Can he play forward?
  14. For the surety of another 2 years until retirement, Max no doubt would’ve happily taken less for the betterment of the team and rewarding players deserving an improved contract (I’m meaning you Trent Rivers). It will also allow us to make a play for FA’s or take on some salary for better picks. There is literally no downside to this extension. Arguably our best skip since RDB, and even should Max never play another game, this financial security is just reward for our premiership captain.
  15. Yeah that’s not gonna happen
  16. I was commenting from the perspective that objective data is interpreted through what is ‘seen’ , as opposed to subjective which is ‘said’. Unfortunately it’s hard to convey sarcasm over a forum.
  17. From the perspective of how Reid still has so much growth as a footballer and Trac will soon be starting to decline (given his age), then yes I would. Another part of me reckons if we were to trade Trac, we may as well trade Clarry and Viney, because our window would definitely be closed and we’d need to maximise going to the draft and bringing in A-graders before Tassie comes in. Barret is getting stuck in to North how they’ve been useless for so long, but as the Giants did as their list matured, North’ improvement will happen rapidly once the kids get games and continuity playing together. Dont want to wallow at the bottom of the ladder for years on end. Hit the draft hard and rebound asap (and no, I don’t even want the club to even dare think about t@nk!g, coz that worked out wonders last time)
  18. Media won’t focus on this though, as it doesn’t align with their ‘pile it on the Dees’ mantra atm.
  19. I’m sorry, but with the video on MFC.com.au where ANB says it was a tough decision to make, it sounds as if it’s all a fait accompli and he’s simply going to a SA club. Both Port & Crows know that they won’t have to offer adequate compensation, given we seek to have a net trade gain, and will use the ‘family reasons’ as a source to lower his value. However, given his importance to the club in the defensive role he plays, we should not be parting ways with him unless it’s to our benefit (he does have another couple of years contract with us after all). We are currently at a cross roads with where we’re at as a team and need to be ruthless in our pursuit to get back up the ladder. If that means holding Nibbler to his contract, so be it. Im tired of us being nice guys and easy to deal with at the trade table.
  20. We seem to be rewriting the “what not to do” rule book. Talk about imploding
  21. Watch the AFL do us for tanking again
  22. Looks like re-build will be in full swing whether the footy department like it or not. What was all that cr@p jotted out after 2021 about not becoming complacent from the coach, ceo & pres? Thats aged really well. 2022-2024 May as well be titled ‘What not to do: 101’
  23. Our game plan is boring and our scoring has rapidly dried up. No faster way to disenfranchise the players and supporter base than that. That’s on the coaches. Hope the board read them the riot act this off season, but given who is in charge, I very much doubt it will happen
