Trac will play more good football no doubt, but at 29 he’s at the peak if not slightly passed his best football. As much as it would hurt to see him go, it would help fasten our “rebuild” and if we look too offload Trac, then clearly we are in rebuild mode. Where would that leave the club with Clarry? Pick 5, plus a few more juicy picks, could certainly launch our new midfield brigade. And I’d much rather leaders of Gawn and Viney showing them the ropes, than the likes of Trac and Clarry, who are immature by comparison.

Dont bother with the rib-eye, just get as much Kobe wagyu as we can
-
I wonder who gets the final say?

We need to be bold. 3 picks in the top 20.
-
Yep, though wait for the AFL to change that this off-season

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Demon Disciple replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Simply must take that pick 5 to the draft. I’d even be willing to try and bring in another top 10 pick to try and speed up our ‘rebuild’, much in the same way we did in 2019 with Kozzie and Dogga -
We simply need to take pick 5 to the draft.
-
Get ready for the mother of all even ups after half time if that’s the case.
-
The umps appear to be doing their best to get the Aints over the line, 12-1 free kicks. Ouch.

Laurie Extends for 2 More Years
Demon Disciple replied to Heart Beats True's topic in Melbourne Demons
I’m not a Laurie fan, but he needs to be given a good run of games in the AFL to see if he will make it instead of dropping him after 1 game, playing him in the VFL for another 3 before getting a call up, only to be dropped again. Thats on Goodwin and his inability to properly develop players. -
Unless drastic changes are made, 2025 will be more of the same I fear.
-
Still trying to figure out how Laurie got an extension.
-
There’s our problem right there
-
Unless he is hit lace out he is useless.
-
There’s no denying his ability, but imagine him in our forward line 😩. It would come out even faster than it does now. Rachele = 0 forward pressure.
-
They’re all culpable imo.
-
Here’s hoping it’s because they actually have something in the works, as opposed to the many before them who produced nothing. We the members are going to need to see real progress soon, or the board needs to fall on their sword (though I don’t want this Lawrence fella stepping in, as he has his own agenda too it seems).

I’m not Roffey’s biggest fan……..far from it (the fact we are no closer to finding a new home base is farcical, imo), however, I’m grateful she is not a noisy president that needs to give her 2c on all things football. Actions speak louder than words, unfortunately for Roffey & the board, there seem to be no actions to speak of.

Happy with that if we gets the same results (only not to back up after 5 days again)

Premiership Hero Ben Brown Retires
Demon Disciple replied to picket fence's topic in Melbourne Demons
Retired as a premiership player (rare), an MFC premiership player at that (even rarer) -
Would love to know how Geelong could legitimately satisfy us in a deal for Clarry. There’s simply no way they could appease us.
-
Just goes to show how precious and fleeting life is, he woke up this morning and now never will again. The finality of it is just so sudden, heartbreaking and hard to comprehend.
-
Can he play forward?
-
For the surety of another 2 years until retirement, Max no doubt would’ve happily taken less for the betterment of the team and rewarding players deserving an improved contract (I’m meaning you Trent Rivers). It will also allow us to make a play for FA’s or take on some salary for better picks. There is literally no downside to this extension. Arguably our best skip since RDB, and even should Max never play another game, this financial security is just reward for our premiership captain.

Yeah that’s not gonna happen
