If we were as arrogant as Carlton...
Bagdana replied to The Jack of Grimes's topic in Melbourne Demons
That's a shame. I wanted to ask how they thought their beloved Blues were going now... -
Is Nathan Carol still in W.A.? Seems a coincedence.

Glutton for punishment. Loyalty can be a curse.

Anyone notice him 3rd up in the ruck in the third I think it was? He jumped so high he had to punch it in out in front of his nipple and I was still out of reach of all others. I reckon he'd give that standing and running vertical leap a scare if he had have gone to draft camp. Was it the back of Raph Clarke's head he saved by sticking that mitt out and raking it back? Who ever is was turned with the expression WTF? The last place he looked for the ball was in Jurrahs hands. He obliged by showing it to him. Classic!

Not to mention Meeson...

I would have thought our players could have been put into two categories. Either "test" or "season". I don't think our finals chances are looking to flash.
-
No. But if it were Collingwood... I've never met a bunch of supporters so proud to be inbred and toothless. Listening to those in this office talk about how their Pies have now got it sown up. It makes me want to “spew up!”
-
Ha, ha. That is classic. I turned the telly off straight after the goal but, on second thoughts, I should have left it on to join you for a giggle.

Not the most reliable source but http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Priority_draft_pick : "Teams would receive a Priority Selection only if they finished the season with fewer than 16.5 premiership points. If a team finished with fewer than 16.5 premiership points in two consecutive seasons, then their Priority Selection is taken before the First Round."

Thankyou. I suspected as much and this is not good after last weeks WC performance. Does this mean we need to be as blatent as them to lose not only games but % for Scully?!?!?!
-
Can someone please clarify. If both West Coast & Melbourne have 16points or less at the end of this year (forget about Freo) and West Coast finish lower than us on the ladder, do they get PP 1 (as they finished lower this year) or do we (as we finished lower last year)?

Ha, ha, beat me to it!

I thought it looked more like a bottle of Wild Turkey and Cola in which case its more sugar than Carb's. Although I do think Sam looks undernourished at this stage, as he's got plenty of time, and is injured at the moment, is discussing what he's drinking more of a talking point than his frame at this stage?

What about Jonesy's comments off the Melbounre Football Club website (see "twitter, follow jonesy") which read "THE DEES WONT TANK!!! get it out of your heads, we're playing to win and we cant wait for this weekend ! 10:38 PM Jul 13th from web " Not renew his contract either? As all and sundry have said, we can't blame the players for wanting to win. We can only hope that big Jim dropped into the club the week to say to Bails "thanks for the thought but WTF are you doing?".

All for the try your guts out stuff but how about we take a leaf out of the professionals book and tell the players to kick at the points until we’ve been well and truly buried in all remaining games. Players of the left side go for the points on the right to add to the degree of difficulty and vice versa for those on the right. That way we can still evaluate our players at the same time. Just moving the goal posts so to speak. That Kreuzer cup was a thing of beauty for those tanking experts.

Recorded the Vic Metro v SA on Fox I.Q. and just watched it. Scully, I'm sold. I was wondering why I hadn't heard much about Josh Toy while I was drinking him in... would've made our selectors job very easy I reckon. Raking boot (60+m from kick), good height and awareness, LIGHTNING pace and all at 17!!! Anyone else want to sabotage GC17 with me?

Thanks Redleg, Yeah hopefully by the time she's old enough to understand whats going on we'll be defending the flag for the 2nd time! Thanks QueenC.

Jaded, I hope he does as he deserves one. One the stats thing though, he does play off half back in a side which does tend to have it in its defensive half a hell of a lot of the time! This helps a bit. Side note: One more one eyed Dees supporter. Born Thursday morning at 7.40am, Phoebe Mae. I brought her and my wife home today and had my new daughter on my chest throughout the match. I introduced her to the Dee's and I didn't get up to smash a thing!

"Watts, who turned 18 late in March, has become the subject of an unhealthy focus at Melbourne." It's not us who has unrealistic expectations on this 18 year old kid. If the media (including you Mike) would just back off, take the spotlight off him and let him get some experience that would be greatly appreciated.
-
First in will be the top of Watt's head as he (deliberately) springs up to ask Didak why?

Congratulations Colin, conducting an interview like that was an extremely gutsy thing to do. It is harder than anything on field. For blokes I reckon emotions are a funny thing. Physical pain can be confronted and dealt with, emotions... not so much. I don't post much but reading that article really refreshed my confidence in you as not only a potential gun footballer but as a bloke who is misunderstood and one who has been misrepresented as a nasty boy by the media just because that's what they get paid to do. Although there are indiscretions, I give you the benefit of the doubt and shame myself for believing their hyperbole. I know that I myself am guilty of having too much sauce from time to time, I'm just lucky that I'm nobody! Thank you for setting it straight. I, of recent, haven't been watching you as part of the team I love, but rather, as someone who plays with them. Of that whole other "Colin Sylvia- Complaints, Congratulations and Comments" thread I never read a word as I figured none of it would be constructive (disclaimer, I don't know what was in it I just assumed that). That has changed. Respect restored. Go forth in the red and blue, as I feel like we've just picked up a new, experienced #3 draft pick as you've now figured not only your body but "it" out. Tear 'em a new one starting tomorrow. Which team would be better to destroy and continue the form which you have built over the past month! Side note: Jmac, well done.
