  1. It does, but someone has to play. If forced I'd choose the bigger bodied Garland over Frawley. Ideally I'd have neither playing. Guess who will be making way for Rivers this week.
  2. No, we have to protect poor little Frawley because he is skinny and he is going to continually have his arse handed to him in defence from our lack of midfield pressure. There's nothing to be gained by that. It's different for midfielders and Morton has the opportunity to be part of the solution. Frawley would just be a victim of the problem.
  3. Saw that earlier in the week. Brilliant stuff.
  4. Agree with all of your post Bay but particularly the above line. Our current key defenders have the hardest gig in the AFL at the moment thanks to the absolute pasting the blokes in the middle are getting. I'd much rather see senior players Carroll and Miller* bear the heat rather than throwing a skinny 19 year old to the wolves. * Please nobody take this as a cue to turn this thread in to a Miller bashing thread.
  5. Somehow I don't think Dutchy will be around for another 10 years!
  6. How many key defenders are "special"? Is Darren Glass special?
  7. He's a key defender in his second year. You don't think it's just a little early to be worrying about having wasted a draft pick yet? I believe he missed some of the early pre-season, but should be well and truly fit by now. He's not showing much yet, but I reckon that's the least of our worries at the present time.
  8. I wouldn't have. A gun midfielder (living in hope, of course) is always going to be better than a fair-to-good ruckman. I'll wait until I've seen how Grimes goes before slashing my wrists.
  9. It's interesting looking at that list. Of the first 6 top 1 draft picks, McDonald was serviceable and the rest were outright duds. Even now it's still a difficult pick to get right, even if the choice is obvious at the time. Headland comes under the same banner as TJ I reckon. All the talent in the world, but bankrupt in the head department.
  10. If we beat Geelong it'll be the biggest thing since.... something very big. This is the closest thing you will ever see to a guaranteed loss. If we win I will scream my house down.
  11. Exactly. Compare that to the Woewodin trade, there was nearly a riot. That's precisely what I think will happen too Chilli. I reckon he was always going to burn it up this year. He has a point to prove after all. Next year he will be back to his same old ways.
  12. Country (interstate) member here. I make it to 1 game a year at most, usually it's 0.
  13. I'm sure they'll take that over having to remember where training is every day, especially in the pre-season.
  14. Merging threads is too much effort, and since you avoided using the other ones on purpose I'm just going to lock this.
  15. Junior's apparently been on his last legs for about 3 years now, and in that time he's won the last two B+F's. I would have thought we would have learned by now not to try and put a time limit on the guy.
  16. 16 MFC players. Hmm. Zomer, Spencer, Cheney, McNamara are the names missing, are they all in the twos? That's some tall timber down there if so.
  17. Excellent point. No doubt your post will be drowned out by all the noise though. It just about has been already.
  18. Didn't think he was any better than Weetra, and Garland is not vying for the same position.
  19. Petterd was rubbish on the weekend. IMO he was worse than either of Green or Bruce (which is clearly what you're getting at). Yes he had plenty of friends, but I certainly wouldn't have described his game as "reasonable". Young or not. I've got no explanation about Moloney though, assuming no injury. I didn't think he was bad enough to be dropped.
  20. He's in the emergencies though. Sure he's injured?
  21. Colour me perplexed. Surprised Moloney was dropped, but not that surprised Petterd was dropped. Young or not, his game the other day was average. Glad Yze is out, and happy with all the ins. Disappointed about no Rivers though. Hope it's not bad news. I would have been happy to see Petterd get another crack, and am happy that Garland and Weetra have been given another opportunity.
  22. I don't get irate with people who don't sign up either. It's everyone's choice, and not everyone should have to buy the right to support/follow/barrack for a footy side if they don't want to. The whole appeal about footy is that it's a relatively cheap passtime (though these days it's not that cheap) and it's easy to get passionate about. I absolutely despise the attitude of many around here that if you're not a member you're not a supporter. It's pure rubbish. Having said that, I do believe that if you are not a member then you forgo the right to have your voice heard by the club. I'm sure that by courtesy they will listen to any supporter, member or not, but they're not obliged to. If you're not doing anything for the club, then it's unreasonable to expect them to do anything for you.
  23. He seems to be completely up his own bum, but I'd give anything to have him in our side. What an absolute weapon. Made supercoach team look good last week too.
  24. You do realise "QFT" means "quoted for truth", right? So, you're supposed to quote what you think is true.
