  1. He'll have an absolute ripper year, no doubt about it. He's that type of guy. Anyone remember Adam Heuskes?
  2. Can you elaborate? I'd be interested in your thoughts.
  3. Thanks for that Y_M, that's exactly what I was looking for. I jumped on here and 'ology and all I got was whinge whinge whinge. I don't really care about the scoreboard either. Nice to know you're useful for something
  4. I reckon Matty Whelan is finished personally. He's a 28? year old in the body of a 38 year old.
  5. Ahhh, I'm really excited now. Can't wait to see some of these kids play.
  6. The Innovations Coach is responsible for the forward scouting/opposition analysis. It's a bit of a wanky name IMO, but it's a vital role in modern footy clubs.
  7. Winning the NAB Cup didn't seem to hurt Geelong last year.
  8. The Fubar should consider seeing if it can sponsor The Real Juice for a season and get the lad down there to promote it.
  9. He has every right to be annoyed and Brock was a knob for doing it. Was reporting it to the papers really necessary though? What's wrong with lodging his grievance with the club?
  10. That's a bold statement. Seems unlikely given their respective ratings as juniors, but let's hope you're right.
  11. I tend to agree gOLLy. My only wish out of all of this was that our club was better at sweeping embarressing stuff like this under the carpet. This is going to open yet another needless can of worms no doubt.
  12. I'm not too familiar (read: not at all familiar) with the level of competition in the EFL, but that looks like the makings of a pretty strong list?
  13. There's a small part of me that never gives up on anyone, and will always just silently wait for him to return to his 2003 form. Unlike many of the cynical old buggers on here and 'ology, I do believe in complete hope for the best, even if I am setting myself up for a fall. That definitely applies here.
  14. You have to wonder who proof reads these articles. There's a howler in just about every article these days.
  15. I don't reckon they're required to, but I wouldn't be surprised if many of them did anyway.
  16. I think "shocking" is overdoing it a bit. "Annoying" is probably a more suitable term.

    WOW

While I'm not normally a "dobber", the moderator logs suggest that the person who deleted the thread is the person who founded, owns and funds the site.
  18. It doesn't matter if it was a real game, a practice game, or kicking it around the park with his mates. Anyone who shits themselves at the sight of a contest in any condition is a risk of doing it again when it really matters. I do it all the time. That's why I don't play footy.

Funny stuff. The press release date in the past was a bit of a giveaway
  20. 1. In 2006 the magic number was $6,551,687, which is well within the vicinity of everyone else. No figures on hand for 2007 -- yet. 2. No. The AFL do have ways of bullying us when they so choose, just as they do all the 16 clubs, but not via money distribution.
  21. That's a great point Fan. It might also go some way towards explaining how Yze et al made it through. As a young person coming in to a footy club, there's senior players who immediately make their presence known to you, and I reckon Yze is definitely one of those guys. It'll be very interesting to see who's in next year's leadership group. It's probably safe to assume list turnover will be back to "normal" levels so there won't be as many starry-eyed kids voting without having had a chance to form any but the most cursory of opinions.
  22. I'm not applying any standards. Just giggling at the situation.
  23. Personally I don't need to know all the facts to be able to roll my eyes and snigger a little based on the club he's at. Provoked or unprovoked is irrelevant. Fights are very easy to avoid if you really want to.
