  1. In: Morton Out: McLean If McDonald's fit, I'd drop Martin as well.
  2. Having not seen any of them play it's impossible to make anything but the crudest of guesses, but based on what I've read and learned from people whose opinion I rate, I'd take Naitanui at 1. If we don't end up with #1 I'd take Watts with whatever we've got if he's still there.
  3. Look at the post he quoted, he meant Pavlich for the B+F.
  4. I never thought I would see the day where Rhino and Clint would see eye to eye
  5. I said earlier in the year that the idea had merit, and still believe that to be the case. He'll have some tough competition in McLean and Green though. I'd be happy to have any of the three as captain. I'm just thankful that we've finally got some blokes capable of showing leadership outside Neitz.
  6. Disappointing from a player development perspective as he's yet to be able to play out a full season. He's been very unlucky with injuries so far. From a list management perspective it makes sense though. There's no point risking a player when you're not having a shot at finals. Might as well get the surgery over and done with now, so hopefully he is able to put in a full pre-season. It also gives some of our younger lads like Valenti a further shot to stake a claim on their position on the list, so the news isn't all bad.
  7. I heard what happened and was nearly sick. Having spent time in a severe head injury ward myself after suffering one as a kid, I have seen first hand what kind of horrible an impact this kind of thing can have on a person. I luckily walked away with just a concussion, but a few of those I shared a room with weren't so lucky. I wish him all the best and hope he can recover and lead a full life afterwards. You really wouldn't wish this sort of thing on anyone. The thought of someone suffering this kind of injury sends chills up my spine.
  8. This has been a specific instruction from the coaching panel in the past; get a third man up whenever possible. It wouldn't surprise me if it were the case again.
  9. Personally I found Green and Miller's games pretty hard to split, as there's no doubting they were both pure class yesterday. I wouldn't argue against giving either of them the 6. It was great watching that last Miller mark on TV. Green actually had as much claim on it as Miller did and was NOT going to let go, until he realised it was a teammate he was fighting with. It was a very fitting end that our two best players on the day battled to take the mark that won the match. Great stuff.
  10. B: M.Whelan, C.Garland, M.Warnock HB: B.Green, P.Wheatley, C.Bruce C: C.Sylvia, B.McLean, L.Dunn HF: C.Johnson, M.Bate, A.Davey F: S. Martin, B.Miller, A.Wonaeamirri Foll: P. Johnson, C.Bartram, N.Jones Interchange: J.Bode, S.Buckley, M.Jamar, S.Valenti Emergencies: J.White, N.Carroll, C.Morton In: Simon Buckley, Stefan Martin, Shane Valenti. Out: James McDonald (groin), James Frawley (omitted), Jeff White (Omitted)
  11. Carroll can't get a gig in the 16th side, and he is a disruptive bogan off the field that can't help but get himself in trouble. His trade value is naught.
  12. Bzzt. That's not the bit you got wrong. Try again.
  13. Bzzzt. Try again.
  14. Bode, Morton, White, Valenti would be my bench. Awesome that Martin's definitely in. I can't wait to see how he goes. How exciting. I'd like to see Buckley given another tagging role for Sandy this week, then join the senior squad at a later date to consolidate his work on his defensive side. I don't have a lot of interest in seeing Carroll or Jamar in the side.
  15. I hadn't read the article as previously I'd found Lovell's articles to be sugar coated fluff. Thanks for pointing that bit out though, that's very good to hear. Playing him as a tagger for a few weeks seems like a sensible move as his defensive work is what is keeping him out of the side. What better way to learn?
  16. Great journalism there Andrew. I love it how he even went to the length of saying "no relation".
  17. Nick Davis is hauling his fat backside around in the twos and has been all year.
  18. 1. Green 2. McLean 3. Bruce 4. Jones 5. Wheatley Reckon Garland is flying up the ladder at a meteoric pace.
  19. Definitely Robbo. He doesn't seem to miss those these days.
  20. I still can't see how what I said implies in any way shape or form that he is a lost cause, but since I've been misunderstood more than once I apologise for not being clear.
  21. I think the AFL player's mindset works a bit differently than that. I'd bet that if you asked Stefan Martin if he wanted to play on Brown on debut, he'd be jumping at the opportunity. That said, I agree that Garland is the man for the job at the moment.
  22. Where did I say that? That was mo64's (incorrect) inference from what I said. I said no such thing. My point was simply that he hasn't done it yet, so he needs to hurry up. That's all.
  23. I've never met Lynden Dunn so I don't know if it can be addressed or not.
  24. I'm saying that at 21 with 3 years in the system he should be able to go when it's his turn by now. I'm not going to answer your question as you were putting words in my mouth and drawing conclusions that I did not infer.
  25. I made a post almost the same as yours yesterday then realised I had missed the point, as have you. Dunn's never going to reach the heights of those players obviously, but the point is that the best players were champions at his age, so by 21 you should have already ironed out any "go" issues you may've had when you were younger. Age is not an excuse when you're 21. He needs to sort this out yesterday.
