  1. Dwayne still can't convince me that Gawn isn't a better and more vaulable footballer than Zac Merrett or Tom Liberatore.
  2. Silly Dwayne. Everyone on here knows it should be 5. May 4. Viney 3. Gawn 2. Oliver 1. Petracca 😄😄 😄
  3. How are you going to get better if you don't learn from the best at some stage and see where you stand?

Can we set the calendar to dd/mm/yyyy so that quoted posts show the conventional date format?
  7. There's some big women playing for Adelaide.
  8. Just for interest, these are the "anomalous" votes between the coaches and the umpires. In round 14, Jason Horne-Francis had 13 possessions. Must have got a lot straight out of the middle.
  9. As minor premiers, Collingwood are entitled to the longest break/rest between the prelim and the GF.
  10. The Giants and Donald Trump have got one thing in common ... they're both orange.
  11. They did have two brainfades in the backline that cost goals. One where no one went up to compete and watched Carlton take a mark 20 metres out, and another where they all turned their backs on Motlop near the boundary, expecting him to go back and take a shot. He just played on, waltzed in and kicked it.
  12. 1. Of course we choked. 2. We probably would have choked less if they weren't missing, especially Brayshaw and Petty. 3. Injuries at the wrong end of the season are cruel. Carlton, Collingwood, GWS and Brisbane have hardly got any.
  13. So you're saying that Brayshaw instead of JJ, Petty instead of TMac, Melksham instead of Spargo, and JVR instead of, say, Chandler, wouldn't have helped? At the very least they would have kicked straighter.
  14. Yep, that 10 goal loss was very disheartening.
  15. Put Brayshaw, Petty, Melksham and JVR into tonight's side and we win.
  16. Did the AFL's counsel even question Maynard on this implausible rubbish? Seems like he didn't.
  17. "The likelihood of a collision changed because of what Brayshaw did." What was that ... run in a straight line and kick the ball?

Goody says they want to stay positive and get on with it. That's not something they need to be reminded of.
  19. You don't need intent to be careless. It's like having an intent to be an i d i o t
  20. All this stuff about "what could he do?" as if he had no choice once committed to the jump. He had an opportunity and time not to turn his shoulder. An Olympic diver can change from a pike to a somersault in mid-air and control their fall to enter the water head and arms first, all in fractions of a second.
  21. Pickett attempts a smother towards the end of the 2nd quarter. Notice how he aims to miss Hoskin-Elliott, rather than charging straight at him. Nice Pickett. 😄 pickett smother.mp4

"Bombing" comes about because sides are too slow moving the ball in transition after a turnover. The opposition gets all their players back in the defensive half, and then when the ball carrier looks up (often under pressure) all they see is a congested forward line with no space to lead into. Port Adelaide had the same problem last night. Move the ball faster and the forward line will open up more.
  23. This "footy action" talk, as if it automatically protects the reasonableness of the action, is just a load of bollocks. A tackle is a "footy action" but if you don't do it properly and sling a player to the ground so they hit their head and get concussion, then you can pay the penalty. An intercept punch is a "footy action", but if you don't do it properly or are late and hit a player in the head and cause concussion, then you can pay the penalty. A smother from front on is a "footy action" but if you don't just try to smother and then run into the kicker with your shoulder and knock them unconscious, then you can pay the penalty. What's also irrelevant is bleatings about Christian's bias as an MRO being an ex-Collingwood player. He has no other option but to refer the incident to the tribunal, and he won't have any influence on the matter.
  24. It's interesting though that so far we haven't missed a beat without him and they haven't improved with him.
  25. Georgiades re-signed with Port.
