Koltyn Tholstrup Re-Signs until 2028
Surprise, surprise. Young player takes 2 years and 20+ games to get better.

Or do you mean Leonard Cohen? Teale was an actor in Homicide.

I hope you realise that a few "dinosaurs" run this place.

2026 Injury List
There's no rabies in Australia, unless maybe you get bitten by a bat.

The List Manager Tim Lamb
You can't just make a list of players traded in the last few years and suggest any one of them could have come to Melbourne, without considering their individual circumstances, their own desires about destination, our salary cap, our needs and our trading currency. For some of those players we would have had to give up picks that later resulted in players like Windsor, Langford and Lindsay. Or Taylor and Pickett #2. We'll be better off in the long run with the picks imho. I'd also happily avoid some of those on the list due to perpetual injury or the salary expense we would have incurred. The days of the "messiah" are long gone (let's see how St Kilda ends up in the long run). Some, like Joe Daniher, were over-rated in terms of trading cost, and he (like Curnow) wanted to get out of Melbourne anyway. Rohan and Lipinski are a bit meh. And I wouldn't have touched Bailey Smith or Tanner Bruhn with a barge pole.

Make an outlandish prediction for 2026
Some posters on here will look only to a bright future, and not backwards to endlessly complain about the last decade.

GAMEDAY: Practice Match vs Richmond
W You could see clearly on the replay that the ball was hit out of his hands.

GAMEDAY: Practice Match vs Richmond
Don't worry, the Dees fans will have driven up in the Range Rover and parked near the ground. 😄

PREGAME: Practice Match vs Richmond
He's 20 years old and has played 19 games.

PREGAME: Practice Match vs Richmond
So some people here want to "keep a lid on the kids", but are happy to virtually write one off already. We criticised Goodwin for "playing favourites", but some here are doing the same thing with their own player preferences. Time we gave everybody a "clean slate", like King, and allow the year to play out before making hasty judgements, in my humble opinion.

Rolling Weekly Best 23
I'm just not sure about Melksham's match-ready fitness.

Rolling Weekly Best 23
I'd replace Melksham with Kentfield if he plays OK on Friday. Will Petty be fit? If not, debut Taylor or add McDonald. Unlike others, I wouldn't drop Sparrow. I think he might come into his own this year as a strong midfielder now that Petracca and Oliver have gone.

Rolling Weekly Best 23
Not sure about Melksham. I think Culley will be in there, the broken arm should be fixed by Round 1. At the moment I'd have Heath instead of Jefferson.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Friday 23rd January 2026
Yes, but he wasn't a mature age draftee to Freo.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Friday 23rd January 2026
That article describes Judd McVee as a "mature-age draftee". Wasn't he traded in from another AFL club? 😊

Bomberblitz's MFC Preview
I think they've underestimated the young talent. Sure it's going to take a while to find its feet, but it's going to be good.

Welcome to Demonland: MA Services Group
Yet you bag the CEO anyway. I would have thought the reasons for the axing were obvious without the need to say why. The media reports about MA Services poor attitudes and problems took place well after the sponsorship agreement started. The report of going into administration was only released this afternoon.

It wasn't as though we were the only ones with their sponsorship. They also sponsored Essendon, Hawthorn and Brisbane, as well as the Australian Grand Prix Corporation. Everyone has dropped them, absolutely correctly. They've also had contracts cancelled by Coles, Sydney University, CBRE (world's largest commercial real estate services and investment firm) and been removed from the Victorian Government list of preferred suppliers.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Wednesday 3rd December 2025
On the subject of numbers, how long does it take Champion data to update clubs to the new player profiles? "Player profiles are updated by Champion Data and the AFL and cannot be edited by the Melbourne Football Club. 2026 Player Profiles will be available following the 2025 AFL Draft."

Farewell Clayton Oliver
Have you spoken to any current Melbourne players and coaches to see what they say? Their opinion might be different. There's a reason he was let go.

AFLW: PF vs North Melbourne
They were the best all season. But they beat us by 10 points. That's a cause of optimism for me and North are going to get beaten some time. It's up to us to do it. PS. Two of their biggest drivers, Kearney and Shierlaw, are both 36.

Welcome to Demonland: Riley Onley
I'm not a fan of a lot of corporate speak, but I'm also not a fan of the idea that language doesn't rapidly evolve and change. Or that grammar is static and that it is a negative that a lot of modern language breaks old rules of grammar. Go back over 100 years and see how some rules of grammar at the time seem so anachronistic now. Why would you use "things to learn" when it's three words rather than one ("learnings")? Tim Berners-Lee said one of the worst things about his development of urls was that it takes three times as many syllables to say "www" as it does to say "world wide web". Some time in the future, maybe even now, no one will even think of complaining that we use "should of" instead of should've". (I correct it now, but I'm probably fighting a losing battle.) Who would have thought even 20 years ago that we'd have words like femtech, neurodivergent and onboarding. Or that people would shorten phrases to words, like chillax, bae or inspo.
