  1. I reckon Spargo like Nibbler are hard core role players which has kept them in the team as they do their jobs. But like you mention in your last point, to have a bedford and Koz in the same side is an exciting prospect. Also Chandler fits in to that category of player, having a couple talls a resting ruck and 3 speedy forwards would make an interesting mix. My gut feel is the coaches want defence bedsore offense so we are unlikely to see it.
  2. Yep I agree. When you watch a game live his ability for a big man to get around the ground and impact the game is incredible. The amount of times he assists in defence, rucks and contributes up forward is impressive. His ability to hit the scoreboard now, I personally believe puts him in that elite category and should be talked about as being one of the best in the league. We have been really luck as MFC supporters with talented big men, from Jim, to White and now Jackson the apprentice, I believe big Maxy maybe the best of them all. (apologies to pre 90s i was too young to see or remember any others).
  3. I watched the game yesterday evening from the stands and while looking at some Supercoach stats to see Max dominating once again I wondered why he had never been in the discussion as the best player in the league? We all know Dusty has rightly dominated that label in the past based on performance, but when you look overall at the package Max brings to the AFL you'd be hard pressed to find anyone else at the moment that matches him for influence on and off the ground. His leadership qualities on field (which can not be measured by us in the cheap seats), and for being instrumental in turning this club around, as well Max's continued contributions on the ground week in and week out. We saw what he could produce when the game is on line. For me big Max is first pick, and I really do wonder when the experts, which most have been at club land will stand up and say we need to recognise the package and not just stats. Or... are we that shallow as a society that only stats matter?.
  4. This thread is a great reminded of how far we have come as a club. When you look back it has been a good ride. Long may it continue.
  5. Dees are all about the team and i love that about this group. Trac doing a role let Oliver and Harmes run around and get some ball. Plus you also wouold notice that the Bombers one player who could win the game for them didn't get many touches.
  6. Agree. I think we had roughly 10 more scoring shots and if we kicked straight the game was never in doubt. I think the game was a mix of the Bombers trying to stop us and us stopping their open game style and run. I only noted 2 - 3 occasions where the Bombers got on top and started to score. (in the second and 3rd terms) we then went back to strangling them around the ground and the game was over.
  7. Im really happy for Weid. Lets hope he can take some confidence in to next week and keep taking grabs and getting around the ground. Im really interested to see out of the big 3 forwards (TMac BBB & Weid) what the combo is. Also tehre is a wildcard to keep an eye on in young Van Rooyen. Really like the look of this kid but competing against men KPD are a big ask week to week.
  8. Anyone know if it is streamed/televised?
  9. Will be interesting to see where he's at by years end.
  10. I agree, i wouldn't be writing off teams just yet. Cats look like they have made some nice adjustments, Dogs are still a good team with holes and are coached well. Blues look like they are on the up. Swans and GWS both look decent and I am not sure what to make of Lions and Port just yet. Freo could be the surprise packed of the Interstate teams but i still think the top 6 will be tight like last year.
  11. If he can hit a target by foot he will be top 5
  12. Thanks again @WERRIDEE If you get a chance would love to hear how Dunstan and a few of the kids went. Cheers
  13. Thanks for the updates @WERRIDEE Not being shown anywhere? I probably missed the details (i didnt even know game was on)
  14. You do realise it's just media fodder to create debate. Why so serious?
  15. Was good. Keep posting them. Cheers
  16. Was there no vfl this weekend?
  17. Old habits die hard....
  18. Got hung out to dry and needed a body but Morton could have been a decent player. We were just a rabble at the time
  19. The tounp.
  20. We just saw why he isn't elite ... :)
  21. Maybe he finally reviewed the 2018 prelim
  22. I've got one, fully framed etc. I don't believe they are available anymore, i could be wrong.
  23. I think it's more interesting what's happening at Hawthorn rather than the Blues. Regardless if you like what he says or not the did deliver at the Blues, whether or not it is successful is another thing. But i don't think the blues are that far away from it if they can get it right.
