I don't remember clearly if official announcements aren't released until the trade period starts and usually the team is speculated or have players nominated clubs pre trade period? My gut feeling is that nominations can't be officially announced until the start of the trade period. From my experience a lot of moves are already set in stone in a lot of details but you never know, things can and do change. Meaning that the decision is probably already made they are just waiting for the right time to release the info. I would love him at the Dees but i can't see it happening.

I tend to agree. We need to stop their run, winning the clearances only helps us if we can lock the ball in our F50. If they can run like they did last night we are in trouble.

I've only had a quick look and stumbled on the post above. But yes the debate in that thread contains a lot of hurt feelings. I don't blame Freo fans, I'd have been upset as well if Jackson (for example) said I'm out see ya later. I understand they want to maximise the return, but demands and reality are two different things. Unfortunately we will all have to wait until a club is nominated otherwise Freo can just sell to the highest bidder. Worst case for Cerra is that he ends up in the draft

It really is interesting position especially considering we recently traded them Hogan. We are speculating obviously but it would be interesting negotiations, if push came to shove would they let Cerra walk? PS is Cerra contracted? I assume he is not which decreases their hand a little.

All depends on what the seller wants. Even with no inside info, you'd think that Freo would interested in a promising young KPF If Cerra nominated us And Weid is also a top 10 pick who has had development.

I agree you wouldn't trade any of the named players. We do have future picks and fringe players who may interest Freo. It wouldn't be impossible to get a trade done IF Cerra nominated us, but there would be a lot of work to do to get it done. My point was the article didn't tell us Cerra is interested in us, or any other team and that is the key information.

Thanks for sharing @dazzledavey36. No new information in the article. I'd be shocked and upset if we can looked at trading one of Jackson, Rivers or Pickett. The article is pure speculation. The only situation I can see playing out is if a player said I want to go to WA. It will be interesting to know if Cerra is waiting on the Blues coaching situation or if he is actually contemplating another club. Maybe he is waiting to see how serious club offers are before nominationg. But where there is smoke there is fire...Exciting times.

Without looking, im pretty confident the Tigers of 2019 and Hawks and Cats teams would be up there. It is very exciting and interesting to see how the next few weeks go. Everyone has different measures of success, but i would think this year (up to now) would be one of the MFCs most successful club performances for a long long time.

Was a great year and possibly the best candidate to compare. Interestingly we have already won more games this year (18) and beaten every team (except pies). Wowey won the Brownlow - Oliver a big chance this year. How many AA did we have in 2000? I'm too lazy to look. I'm still rating this year (2021) as a better year.

From my op I'm not saying we are guaranteed to win the flag. Im asking if there has been a better MFC side in our more recent history? Flags excluded. I am too young (not that young) but i reckon in our history we wouldn't have had a side with so many well credentialed players and have had such an amazing season. I don't think we are guaranteed a flag and I think this team has a lot of development but wow what a great season so far..... Has any MFC team in 57 years had a better year?
