CHANGES: Rd 12 vs Collingwood
Not sure where you got those stats from, as Hannan was the only forward to lay less tackles than Spargo (Spargo laid 2, another below average effort). Statistically, Hannan was our only player worse than him, and even he managed to kick a goal. Spargo has only kicked one goal from six matches! For season 2019, Spargo is averaging less than 10 disposals, less than 2 tackles, 1 inside 50, 1 goal assist, and no score per game. He is currently ranked below average in every single stat except uncontested marks, where he is ranked average. Hannan aside, Spargo is the worst ranked player on our list this year. While his stats weren't great in his debut year, he did contribute with more goal assists and brought intensity and energy to the team. This year he isn't contributing, his intensity has disappeared, and he's a liability. We cannot carry a forward who doesn't get the ball, doesn't tackle, and doesn't score. If he retains his spot this week then we are officially tanking. I'm excited to see May come in this round. Hopefully he performs well and starts showing us all why we gave up so much to get him. We need all the onfield leadership we can get, and as a 27 year old former captain I expect him to contribute to our leadership immediately.

CHANGES: Rd 12 vs Collingwood
Disagree. If Garlett played all year at his current standard he’d bank another 40 goals like he does every season and be our leading goal kicker... again. I’ll take a bloke who hits the scoreboard every week and generates opportunities over a bloke who hits the scoreboard once a month and doesn’t create opportunities. On form, Spargo is the least effective player in the AFL. I was a fan when he was drafted and last year, but this season he has been beyond pathetic. At least Garlett kicked three goals and set two other goals up last night. Spargo needs to add more strings to his bow if he’s going to survive and have a career with us because he’s currently a small forward who doesn’t score, doesn’t tackle and doesn’t find ball. He needs to work on his game at VFL level and cannot be carried anymore.

POSTGAME: Rd 11 vs Adelaide
Hopefully. We need change and heads need to roll. What the club has produced this year is unacceptable on any level.

POSTGAME: Rd 11 vs Adelaide
It’s been over a decade since we’ve had a leader who can stand up and kick goals when they matter. Hell its been over a decade since we’ve had a decent leader .

Round 11 Non MFC games
Should throw the kitchen sink at Coniglio as a free agent come seasons end. Lazy 207 SuperCoach points today! He’s a superstar!

Round 11 Non MFC games
I think that watching him sometimes, but then remember he’s already 25 and has been around for 7 years already! Probably never going to become much more than he is already so far into his career. North looking decent tonight. Shows what a bit of hunger can do to a playing group. Goodwin seems too laid back most of the time. I want to see him fire up and get the players fired up.

2019 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Noah Anderson is the perfect fit for us. A complete mid with flair, pace, versatility and ability to hit the scoreboard regularly.

Is play-on at all costs still the way to go?
6-6-6 killed chaos and pressure footy. It rewards maintaining possession aka Hawks earlier this decade. Teams are forced to play one and one and can’t go quickly into their forward line which as much success as their forward line is now flooded... the now proven net result of the rule change. Great job AFL! It’s also boring as batshit. As a neutral, this season has been the least enjoyable to watch in my lifetime. Scoring is down, tackling numbers are down, pressure is down, it’s proper rubbish.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND KYLE DUNKLEY
Welcome Kyle! Comes from good pedigree and was probably the best option available. He could become a decent player for us in the front half.

Perspective.. Paddy Mc Cartin
That was a heart breaking article to read. I hope Paddy is able to recover and live a normal heathy life after footy. Health and wellbeing are more important than a game.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs GWS
[censored] this club. Pathetic effort.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs GWS
It’d be good if our midfield could get a touch or lay a tackle. Absolutely pathetic effort so far. If you don’t have the ball, then tackle. Losing both counts is unacceptable and comes down purely to work rate and effort.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs GWS
Weakest crowd I can remember since the Neeld days. Great day for footy. Where is everyone?

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs GWS
Spargo in is mind boggling. His form at afl level this year has been horrible, and his form in the vfl hasn’t been worthy of promotion. Really shows the coaches and selection committee playing favorites to pick someone in such poor form. Either that or we’ve got more injuries than I realized and the fit options are down to Spargo and Preuss?

Frost v Hore
We could actually keep both. One would start on the bench and come on for backline rotations. Oscar likely forced out by May and Lever. Both Wagners out. Petty may force Frost out longer term, but Frost is better in the immediate future. Below is how I'd picture the backline and bench looking in an ideal injury and form situation. FB: Jetta May Hore HB: Hibberd Lever Salem Bench: Back (Frost) Mid Mid Fwd

Round 10 Non MFC Games
All the lower placed teams. That keeps us within touch of the 8 if we can perform, or hands us a higher draft pick if we can’t.

Brad Scott sacked
Would gladly take him in a supportive role. He’s a decent coach who go the best out of a bog ordinary list of players. Seems like a decent motivator or players, so something that would play to that strength. Roos are in real trouble now!

Is this 1987 all over again?
I did the ladder predictor and had us finishing 10th at the end of the season. In my generous predictions we finished 12 wins -10 losses. 12-10 could get let you finish 7th or 8th... if your percentage is worthy. Our percentage is horrible and will prevent us playing finals even if we string wins together. We’d have to roll teams like Pies and Eagles on top of winning all the other “easier” matches. It’s not our year unfortunately.

Jayden Hunt
He’s one of the most dangerous players on our list and is one of the few that has the key attribute we lack - pace! It’s great he’s past his back injuries that ruined his season last year. Now he’s fit, I’d play him every week. He’s proven capable forward and back, and could be good wingmen also IMO

The 2019 Mid Season Draft
Sounds potentially like a Jaiden Stephenson type? I’m all for taking him if so!

Not sticking up for Max
Viney of 2015-2017 would’ve. 2019 Viney is a shadow of his former self. Nice to see Simpson take a public stance that Varsys behavior was rubbish.
-
Not sticking up for Max
The mark was taken in the goal square so he’s going to kick it regardless. This is the time to a stand and give away a 50, as the 50 makes no difference. If only Lewis was there to belt someone. The players response was weak and disappointing. Felt so sorry for Max who’d copped a boot in the face and then abused. What are his mates doing?! Fritsch should be dropped for his pathetic game last night. His work rate and turn overs are momentum killing. That mark and goal is on him. His kicking was beautiful last year. This year it’s been amongst the worst in the league. Massive drop off in form from someone I was hoping would be a real weapon for us this year and beyond.

Making the finals
Our percentage being horrible will prevent us making finals even if we win enough. I’m expecting us to win a few, like GWS match next week, but finals is off the cards at this point.
