  1. Regardless of the ridiculous trade that you suggested.... The above comment is one of the biggest loads of crap I have ever heard! I rate Rivers as a handy "intelligent" type defender.... But to suggest that he may be the best defender in the comp?!?!?! :D :D :D
  2. Got all but a slight giggle out of me.... Althought I am not really in the mood to laugh until after we have traded and drafted well....
  3. Wow! I just had a look at that site..... I think I have just found the greatest site on the internet (other than Demonland) The photos are slightly expensive, but the quality is fantastic! My bank account should begin preparing for some major outlays!! HaHa....
  4. I hope beyond all hope that the Saints absolutely belt the living suitcase out Essendon later today! If the scoreline is something in the area of 128 - 35 then St Kilda would take 4th spot and relegate the stupid Crows to 5th and an away final against Collingwood! Nothing would make me happier, seeing as I am not looking forward to the week ahead here in Adelaide, having to listen to all the bull$hit about how Adelaide can beat Geelong and win the flag!!! PS. They were bloody lucky to win against the Bulldogs anyway, and that goal umpire should be shot!!
  5. I believe this would have been written after Freo beat Collingwood, which meant that Port got pick 3 in the draft, and it is common knowledge here in Adelaide that they are looking to get Nik Nat to the Port! (other Fijians there include Rodan and Carlisle) But then Port went and pulverised North yesterday, which gave Freo back their no. 3 pick..... Article is a non-event now.... Just must've had nothing else to print
  6. Port are actually quite a good side when they are switched on.... As we all saw yesterday..... They didn't make the GF last year because they were useless....
  7. Thanks Dutchy.... I will never forget being at the MCG and watching you kick for goals...... Some of the greatest and scariest moments of my life! Always a legend..... and always a great bloke!
  8. Yeah, would've been nice if it was the 1st of September today..... Then at least I could have told my Carlton/Pt Adelaide mates that Melbourne actually played in September action! P.S. Yes I know it is strange to have Carlton and Port mates, but living in Adelaide it is tough to find decent people
  9. If you cannot see the importance of giving the young boy Grimes a game today, then you don't have much of an idea about football IMHO.... Grimes has busted his gut all season, to come back from injury and climb his way to the seniors at Sandy.... He has obviously got the talent and is hungry for the ball, not to mention leadership qualities.... The club benefits from playing him against the Tigers, in that they see how he handles the ferocity and pace of an AFL match.... And Grimes himself will get a massive boost from playing on the MCG before he puts his body through a FULL pre-season! He will learn more about what is needed to perform on the big stage and he will gain a number of ideas on what he needs to concentrate on over the off-season! Please, if people cannot see this, then they really need a good hard look at themselves! Have trust in Bailey and Co. This season we may finish bottom..... But this season has gone a long way to shaping the next 5-10 seasons..... More than some people realise I think!
  10. I was reading this in the Adelaide Advertiser (shytest paper in Australia) the other day and thought I would post the link to the article on the web..... It is basically saying that Naitanui could be the saviour for Port Power, linking up with Fijian-born David Rodan and Alipate Carlisle.... An interesting read about the values of tanking.... Also here is a line from the article..... "The latest draft buzz has key forward, Victorian Jack Watts, going to Melbourne at pick one and dual All-Australian under-18 midfielder, WA's Daniel Rich, heading to West Coast - which has been accused of tanking - at pick two." I like this idea of targeting Watts.... The Whole Article
  11. They are trying to get White to show some form in the last 3 matches..... Not for us..... For Sydney or St Kilda to see that he would be of value to their sides next year.... Hopefully for Jeff's sake, he has a few ripper matches..... Been a great servant.... But time to move on....
  12. My first laugh on this beautiful Sunday...... LOL..... That was gold!!
  13. Yes, that last one was terrible.... We played the reigning premiers, who have won the last 4 flags.... Going for 5 in a row this season.... Here is our ladder position as of this week..... I can assure you it is a lot better than last season, where we finished with 239 pts for and 3780 against P W L PF PA % Pts 14th Hackham 15 0 15 506 2832 15.16 0 Tonight should be a good night..... Fitzy will be giving us heaps of curry though, due to the fact that he played his junior football at a rival club....
  14. It is pretty exciting really.... Will try and get my head on TV.... Might jag a role in Neighbours or H&A.... When a club loses 3 matches in a row with scores such as these.... 63.29 v 0.1 65.32 v 0.0 66.41 v 0.0 I think they deserve a helping hand..... I run the website and have stopped posting the damn scores.... It is beyond a joke
  15. Just thought I would share a feel good story My local football club Hackham Hawks, where I am the team manager of the seniors (and retired player) has won the Toyota/AFL Cash up your Club competition! Channel 10 is coming down to the club on Thursday night to film a segment for 'Before the Game' (this Saturday night).... 'Fitzy' is interviewing our president and my mate who sent in the winning entry to the comp.... A representative from Toyota will be handing over the $10,000.... This is amazing.... I have attached the media release I was sent and it is worth a read.... You will soon see that we are worthy winners <_< Also here is the link to the page on Toyota's website Winning Entry Anyway, just thought I would let my fellow Demonlanders know that miracles do happen! And before anyone suggests it, I have already asked the president if we can donate the money to the Melbourne Football Club, but sadly his answer was not the one I was looking for Damn Crows supporter! 16. Aaron Davey Career Highs Disposals 29 v Western Bulldogs, 13th May 2007 Kicks 23 v Western Bulldogs, 13th May 2007 Handballs 9 v Carlton, 20th Apr 2008 Marks 10 v Western Bulldogs, 13th May 2007 Goals 5 v Geelong, 16th May 2004 Tackles 9 v North Melbourne, 27th May 2007 Alwyn Davey Career Highs Disposals 16 v Brisbane, 19th May 2007 Kicks 11 v Geelong, 30th Mar 2008 Handballs 12 v Carlton, 5th Apr 2008 Marks 6 v St Kilda, 21st Apr 2007 Goals 3 v Collingwood, 25th Apr 2007 Tackles 8 v Melbourne, 29th Jun 2007 It still has me stuffed why people think Alwyn is better than Aaron?!?!?! I realise there is about 70 games of experience difference, but surely Alwyn has done nowhere near enough to be rated as highly as some people rate him! I would take both of them in the same side any day of the week (preferably Saturday) But I think Aaron doesn't get the respect he deserves from some people... The kid has suffered some terrible luck with injuries over the last few years, but on what we have seen, I rate Aaron well above his brother ATM
  17. This is one of the more interesting lines I have ever read
  18. I really think that for the remainder of this season, point kick-ins will be the last thing on DB's mind..... We have a full pre-season to master this.... We only have a few more games to master the draft (very tongue-in-cheek)
  19. There is a limit..... It is called sanity A team, if they really are on a death wish, can delist every player if that is what they want! The only problem is contracts.... Not all clubs can make wholesale changes to their list every season.... Do we really want a league full of Carltanks???
  20. Yeah, will be very shocked if we don't have them lining up in the streets to watch this one at federation square! 08-08-08...... This date screams nothing but Melbourne v Geelong!!
  21. Get pharked! Sorry, but posts like this really pi$$ me off.....
  22. Don't even want to entertain the thought of a world without the Melbourne Demons! I will be turning 30 this week and I have not been on this rollercoaster for that long to watch it be taken down before I get to the big dipper!!! Screw that!!
  23. The juice has run dry! Now more like a cup of nectar that has sat in the sun for a few weeks! STINKS!
  24. For mine, Bate still hasn't really hit his straps this season.... I think he needs another solid pre-season under his belt....
  25. In a wierd way, it is interviews like this that make me so excited about our future.... For the first time in a long time the young kids are getting a solid run in the seniors.... Not since Hawthorn a few years back have I seen such committment to the young fellas.... And look where they are now!! Bring it on! PS. It hurts me so much to use Hawthorn as an example, due to the fact that I have a pure hatred for everything they stand for! How dare they make me cry at the football when I was young! Damn you Phukenara!!!!
